Li Zheng instinctively summoned the Bloodthirsty Demon Blade from his residence and held it in his hand, cutting towards the whip shadows attacking from the sky.
However, as the blade collided with the whip shadows, he felt an emptiness in his hand, cutting through nothing at all,
’Master, these whip shadows are fake.’ The Bloodthirsty Demon Blade trembled in his hand, issuing a warning.
"Fake?" Li Zheng was slightly stunned and just as he was about to retract the blade, he felt sothing brush past his cheek.
The next instant, the myriad of whip shadows vanished, and the Bloodthirsty Demon Blade’s next words resonated in Li Zheng’s heart: ’Only one whip shadow is real, but the blade can’t distinguish which one... but that’s no longer important now.’
The Demon Blade slipped from his grip and fled back into the residence, fearing punishnt from Li Zheng.
Li Zheng didn’t bother with the Demon Blade, raising his hand to touch his face and found so powder.
He looked at the powder in his fingers, only to discover it was wood shavings!
Where did the wood shavings co from?
Li Zheng then looked at the trees shattered by Mirel’s "Whipping" Ability, the origin of the wood shavings was self-evident.
"This move is so powerful!" Li Zheng was astounded; the multitude of whip shadows seed so real to him, not expecting only one whip shadow to be real while the others were re illusions.
"What is this move called? Why isn’t it displayed in your panel?" Li Zheng asked Mirel.
"It has no na." Mirel shook her head: "It’s a combat technique I’ve only recently realized, those fake whip shadows are actually illusions created by combining Spiritual Power with whip techniques, they seem real, but at most, only ten whip shadows can be manipulated with my will and skills to beco real attacks."
Though ten whip shadows could transform into real attacks, the Bloodthirsty Demon Blade claid only one was real, showing Mirel hadn’t exerted her full strength.
"Perhaps because it doesn’t have a na, it isn’t displayed in the panel?" Mirel said uncertainly.
That could indeed be the case.
Li Zheng pondered for a mont and suggested, "Why not call it ’Myriad Whips Return to the Root’?"
The na wasn’t important; he just wanted to see if naming it would have the technique displayed in Mirel’s Attributes panel.
"Myriad Whips Return to the Root?" Mirel found the na strange, but after repeating it a couple of tis, she nodded in agreent: "Alright, let’s call it Myriad Whips Return to the Root."
At this mont, a terminal notification flashed before Li Zheng’s eyes:
[Pet "Mirel" has, through relentless effort, comprehended the Ability "Myriad Whips Return to the Root"!]
It really worked!
Li Zheng didn’t expect a pet’s Ability to be acquired through such a thod.
But on further thought, Mirel is different from Sakura. Sakura is an artificially created genetic creature with no precise inheritance, relying solely on external forces to gain Genetic Abilities.
The principle is similar to how players acquire Genetic Abilities; only the items they use can’t be accessed by players.
Of course, Li Zheng wasn’t sure whether, when this generation of players’ ga ti is up and Earth’s humanity becos pets of players from other races, those items would be usable by them.
But Mirel is different; she was born in the Fallen Abyss and has complete inheritance from the Enchanting Demon race to learn, and her intelligence is exceptionally high, naturally learning and obtaining relevant Abilities through training.
This path is sowhat similar to the "martial arts" path pursued by players like Zhan Zhouzhou. Of course, the items Sakura can use, in theory, she can use too, but the Abilities developed may not suit her.
Besides these two types of pets, there is another category of pets that Li Zheng also owns.
That is the technologically modified chanical pets.
Specifically, Issa and Kuro.
Their thod of acquiring abilities is different too, requiring body modification to gain the corresponding abilities.
However, these so-called abilities are more apt to be described as body-mounted "Weapon Systems."
"Is it displayed in the panel?" Mirel, noticing Li Zheng was lost in thought, inquired.
Li Zheng regained his senses and glanced at the panel, finding that the Ability description closely matched Mirel’s own introduction earlier, except the consumption section noted "huge consumption."
"It’s displayed." Li Zheng inquired, "Does this move... have significant limitations?"
"Yes." Mirel didn’t hide it: "Because those whip shadows are illusions created from Spiritual Power, each use consus a large amount of Spiritual Power. With my current Ability, I can fully perform it at most twice a day."
Twice.
Li Zheng contemplated for a while, "Try performing it on again; I want to verify a hypothesis."
"Alright." Mirel didn’t refuse, as a servant, the first rule is not to disobey the master’s orders.
Li Zheng stretched out his hand towards the residence and called, "Little Blade, co!"
The Bloodthirsty Demon Blade trembled in response and flew over gingerly, landing in Li Zheng’s hand.
Li Zheng grasped the hilt, nodded slightly to Mirel once he was prepared: "Okay, let’s begin."
Mirel didn’t speak, holding the whip in one hand, her face turning red once more.
This is a characteristic, similar to a side effect, of her exerting Spiritual Power, indicating that she is indeed pushing herself when performing "Myriad Whips Return to the Root."
The next mont, a myriad of whip shadows abruptly appeared before Li Zheng’s eyes again, densely packed, blotting out the sky.
"Amazing!"
Even seeing this scene for the second ti, Li Zheng couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration; these whip shadows were too realistic, each having varied shapes.
Simulating so many different forms of whip shadows must require diligent training from the one executing the move.
He wasted no ti, instead of using his eyes to see, he closed them, releasing his Spiritual Power to cover the myriad whip shadows.
This ti, the surrounding scene changed.
The whip shadows no longer appeared as realistic as initially, instead becoming much more illusory, with only one solid long whip weaving amidst the myriad shadows, changing position.

Suddenly, the myriad whip shadows closed in, and Li Zheng raised his hand to block the more solid whip shadow with the back of his blade.
Thud!
Li Zheng felt the Demon Blade block sothing soft, and opening his eyes, he saw Mirel’s long whip resting on the back of the blade, wrapping around the weapon a couple of tis, ultimately being cut short by the blade’s sharp edge.
"Ah! My whip!" Mirel cried out, pulling back the now shorter whip with lant, "It was a gift from my mother for my eightieth birthday..."
Eighty years old... birthday gift...
Li Zheng’s apologies stuck in his throat, finally turning into a complaint: "Doesn’t eighty years old usually co with the word longevity?"
After all, breaking soone’s whip was his fault, so Li Zheng felt a bit guilty and took the remaining half from Mirel to see if he could use the "repair" function to fix it.
Upon taking the long whip in hand, the terminal issued a [Discovered Special Damaged Weapon, Decompose? High probability to obtain blueprint.] notification, making Li Zheng sigh in relief yet feel tense.
It seems, repairing is indeed impossible, but crafting a new one is feasible.
Though his luck...
