Luck is actually a kind of taphysics.
Take Li Zheng, for instance. His luck explodes when opening Treasure Chests, managing to score gems like the Bloodthirsty Demon Blade and Prelis’ Eye.
But in other areas, he’s not as fortunate.
While others often get high-tier materials and items in the dungeon’s prize wheel, he either draws "ham," "salted fish," "belt fish," or other bizarre weapons, or at best, gets a Silver quality item as a consolation.
Phoenix Mountain is different; their luck is in a whole other realm. Sotis they can even achieve "Words Beco Law."
Gurgle gurgle~
Gurgle gurgle~
A peculiar sound drifted around Phoenix Mountain’s small dwelling.
Gurgle...
"What’s up?" Yan Guang opened his eyes, looking at Phoenix Mountain disapprovingly, as if blaming them a bit.
Phoenix Mountain was doing push-ups, sweating all over: "That lunatic Li keeps telling to repeat ’wish granted.’
"Just say it already, hurry up, today’s exercise isn’t over yet," Yan Guang urged.
"Say it?" Phoenix Mountain grumbled: "Do you know how many tis he wants to say it? A hundred tis!"
"A hundred tis, then a hundred tis. Just get it over with quickly," Yan Guang’s tone showed impatience.
"Fine!" Phoenix Mountain gritted their teeth, starting the repetition for Li Zheng. Fortunately, the terminal had a copy-paste feature, so it wasn’t too troubleso.
After a while, Yan Guang asked, "Not done yet? If you keep dawdling, it’ll be dawn soon!"
"Damn it!"
Phoenix Mountain, after toiling for ages, had only pasted ’wish granted’ about seventy tis. Under Yan Guang’s urging, they angrily replied to Li Zheng: "Take my blessings and shove off!"
Gurgle gurgle~
The exercise continued, with Phoenix Mountain sweating profusely as they did push-ups.
"It’s just so words of good luck, why are you so tense?"
Li Zheng wasn’t angry, satisfied as he closed the private chat panel and confidently ordered the terminal: Decompose!
[Decomposing: The broken Succubus Whip "Mirel’s Eightieth Birthday Gift"!]
[Decomposition successful, obtained: Succubus Whip Blueprint!]
It really worked!
Li Zheng was overjoyed, reopened the private chat panel, and sent Phoenix Mountain three words: kiss kiss muah!
Gurgle...
"What’s going on now?" Yan Guang was a bit annoyed.
"It’s that lunatic Li again, saying ’kiss kiss muah’ to , urgh... gross..." Phoenix Mountain maintained their push-up posture, suddenly finding the scene slightly familiar.
What the hell?
Isn’t this exactly the routine Li pulled at the very start of the ga to gross out?
Why is it happening again?
Phoenix Mountain realized, recalling the fear imposed by Li Zheng’s blacklist, and preemptively added Li to their blacklist for a hundred and twenty minutes.
Ha ha! Even you, Li, have your days!
After doing all that, Feng felt spiritually enlightened, completely relaxed, and couldn’t help but shiver.
Yan Guang: "???"
Phoenix Mountain: "..."
With the exercise concluded, it seed unnecessary to keep Li Zheng on the blacklist.
Silently, they removed Li Zheng from the blacklist.
Phoenix Mountain fud with anger and sent Li Zheng a private ssage: "You’re a jerk!"
Mirel watched as their whip in Li Zheng’s hands glowed slightly then turned into fragnts, utterly bewildered.
Weren’t you supposed to figure out how to fix it?
How did it end up even more broken instead?
Seeing the mist in Mirel’s big eyes grow thicker, Li Zheng quickly said, "Don’t panic, just wait!"
He rushed back inside, summoned his computer, and learned the blueprint, flipping through checks.
"No Tier special weapon blueprint?"
In his haste earlier, Li Zheng hadn’t had a chance to look at the blueprint details. Now that it was in the crafting slot, he discovered it was a precious special blueprint!
"The output weapon’s tier depends on the maximum tier of materials used, with special devices maximizing material properties?"
Reading the blueprint details carefully, Li Zheng finally understood what the "Scorpion Tail Needle" he had was for.
It turned out to be a material needed for "whip" type weapons!
According to the blueprint’s description, whips are categorized into two kinds: hard whips and soft whips.
Hard whips require tals primarily, leather secondarily.
Soft whips involve various materials like fascia, vines, Scorpion Tail Needles, and even so special leathers and tals can be used.
On this basis, whips are further divided into long whips and short whips.
Long whips are like the one Mirel used earlier; their handles are short, suitable for dium and close-range combat.
Short whips... are hard to describe, but there’s one type of short whip you’ll understand imdiately when ntioned.
The kind that goes with leather outfits and candles belongs to a variety of short whips.
Using tal materials to make soft whips can result in: seven-section, nine-section, eleven-section, thirteen-section, and other types.
Of course, if there are special requests, you can even make them ninety-nine sections long, although no one’s stupid enough to do that.
The whip the Enchanting Demon Queen gave to Mirel is a soft whip made from materials like fascia and leather.
Li Zheng had all those materials, and their tiers weren’t low.
Bear in mind, before obtaining this blueprint, Li Zheng had no idea what these materials could do; they languished in the trading hall, unwanted.
After the trading hall’s revision, unable to host so many items, Li Zheng stored them in a corner of his dwelling—they didn’t take much space anyway.
Sorting through things, Li Zheng crafted a soft whip resembling the original for Mirel from mory.
Although there were so differences in details, this Extraordinary Level weapon wasn’t much worse than the one given by the Enchanting Demon Queen, and Mirel reluctantly accepted it.
After dealing with Mirel, Li Zheng took the opportunity to delve into various whip weapons.
Whether short whips, long whips, soft whips, hard whips, seven-segnt whips, nine-segnt whips, eleven-segnt whips, or thirteen-segnt whips, he crafted several of each.
After all, he had plenty of materials and was feeling indulgent!
He then went on an unstoppable spree, brainstorming to make alterations to the whip weapons’ prototypes.
Soon after, several weirdly-shaped nine-segnt whips ca into existence.
One consisted of small tal rings linked together, with sharp serrated edges on each ring; they were slender and small—if it struck soone, it would leave a gory ss in no ti.
The second, though also a nine-segnt whip, had each segnt made of finger-length round tal pieces covered with sharp spikes of various lengths.
If it struck a person, the spikes would embed into the flesh, leaving a trail of tiny bloody holes when pulled out.
The third was sothing else; although its base was similar to the second, the spikes turned into fishhook-like barbs. It looked extrely vicious.
Using this nine-segnt whip in battle would be akin to performing a slow and grueso execution.
The fourth was built with eight Scorpion Tail Needles; the rest was a standard whip body. Only at the very tip were eight scorpion tail hooks, glistening in blue or purple hues, all containing either Extraordinary or Diamond level poison.
Once hooked onto soone, they’d have to take four different antidotes just to counter the poison!
Utterly malicious!
Mirel watched the entire process, giving a thumbs-up for the four finished whips: "Even the infamous Abyssal Snake Demon would feel inferior before you in terms of viciousness."
Li Zheng’s expression froze for a mont—was he being praised or insulted?
Huh?
Another ssage from Phoenix Mountain?
Li Zheng opened it and saw two furious words: "You’re a jerk!"
Li Zheng was puzzled; when did I ever screw you over?
Lunatic!
Must be itching for trouble!
He sent back the attributes of the four special nine-segnt whips with a ssage: "Mind your language, or I’ll show you what the whip can do!"
Phoenix Mountain, now ready to rest after cleaning up, saw that Li Zheng had responded and was instantly furious.
Damn~!
Are you done yet?
He was ready to send so harsh words but hesitated when he saw the four nine-segnt whips’ attributes.
"Bro, I was just ssing around, no need to take it seriously, right?"
