The Abyss was far darker than she had ever imagined.
No matter what, an Orefiend was still a life. That core was the very foundation on which its existence depended.
Yet in Shaki’s eyes, the lives of those Orefiends were not lives at all. Their purpose for existing was simply to serve the upper demons and mine obediently.
Less than a one percent chance—what did that an?
It ant that in Shaki’s storage space alone, the number of dead Orefiends had already surpassed ten million!
How was a Shaki like this any different from a mass murderer?
Of course, in Shaki’s own eyes, she was not killing anyone. To her, it was like raising fish and then slaughtering them when it was ti to eat. She did not think of that as murder!

"Alright, alright, stop standing here blocking the way! It’s only because our Lady Shaki is kind-hearted that she’s willing to give you Fragnts of History."
"Of course, if you refuse the conditions, then we’ll expel you from the Abyss!"
Caelan frowned slightly and was just about to fire back when Evelyn gently tugged at the corner of his clothes.
"Caelan, please stay calm. Don’t forget why we ca to the Abyss in the first place!"
The anger in Caelan’s chest had yet to fade, and his icy gaze swept across everyone present.
