Chapter 950: Chapter 939: Wu Rong

The evidence against the loan shark syndicate’s upper ranks, along with their criminal activities, is all stored on the USB drives. Ning Fan has already provided Baby Hai with all the necessary leverage. If this isn’t enough to take down these loan sharks, then Ning Fan has no other options left—except letting the Eagles personally step in.

“Where it ca from doesn’t matter. With these things, you can arrest them anyti. I don’t think I need to worry about this anymore, right?”

Ning Fan could naturally see the curiosity in Baby Hai’s eyes. But as for where these items ca from, he found it hard to explain. All that mattered now was catching the people first. With such incriminating evidence, is there even a worry that they won’t be caught?

Baby Hai, who originally had stars sparkling in her eyes, now pouted because of Ning Fan’s reluctance to explain, looking sowhat dissatisfied.

She initially wanted to praise Ning Fan for his divine skills, but if Ning Fan didn’t plan on explaining, then she wouldn’t say another word.

Staring at the USB drive in her hand, Baby Hai thought for a mont before finally speaking, “I will hand this USB over. I won’t reveal your na—not a single word, I swear!”

Perhaps having noticed Ning Fan’s desire to avoid the spotlight, Baby Hai decided to keep Ning Fan’s involvent hidden. As for the origins of the USB drives, she alone would know.

Ning Fan raised a thumb in approval of Baby Hai’s understanding—it saved him a lot of trouble.

“Well then, I’ll wait for the good news. Looking forward to your updates!”

Ning Fan shrugged and stood up, preparing to leave. But at that mont, the previously lively coffee shop suddenly emptied of its other patrons.

The abrupt quietness of the café seed unusual. What could have happened for everyone to leave so systematically?

A smirk played on Ning Fan’s lips. He couldn’t resist laughing coldly—it seed trouble was on the way.

“What’s wrong?”

Baby Hai, who originally intended to exchange so polite conversation, felt puzzled when Ning Fan stood up but didn’t take further action. She couldn’t help but ask.

At that mont, a large group of people walked into the café. Despite their varied clothing, it was obvious they shared one thing in common—they were clearly not good people. No matter how you looked at it, these individuals didn’t seem like people with good intentions, prompting Ning Fan to beco alert.

“Mr. Ning, right? Can we have a word?”

A middle-aged man wearing gold-rimd glasses stepped forward. He looked straight at Ning Fan, ignoring Baby Hai who was still there.

Baby Hai finally noticed the odd situation in the café. Her reflex was to reach for her police badge, but realizing the group had co prepared, she wisely refrained from revealing her identity. Instead, she moved closer to Ning Fan.

“What should we do now?”

Baby Hai whispered, her expression tinged with worry.

Facing a crowd like this, with just the two of them there, it was clear the other party ca with ill intentions. What would happen next was anyone’s guess.

Ning Fan simply patted Baby Hai on the head, signaling with his eyes for her to remain calm.

“I haven’t introduced myself yet. My surna is Wu, and my given na is Rong—Wu Rong. Mr. Ning doesn’t need to introduce himself; I already know who you are. And this lady beside you doesn’t need to be uneasy, though she’s a police officer,

we are all law-abiding citizens. As long as you don’t interfere with us, we won’t interfere with you!”

Wu Rong didn’t stand on ceremony and plopped himself down onto the seat opposite Ning Fan and Baby Hai.

Baby Hai frowned at his arrogance and instinctively snapped, “Did we say you could sit?”

Wu Rong ignored her rudeness completely, but one of his lackeys, puffed up with an imposing air, barked aggressively, “Do you even have the right to speak here? My boss isn’t talking to you—shut your mouth!”

Slap!

Suddenly, Ning Fan did sothing shocking. He delivered a slap straight to the face of the man who had just shouted, then stared at his palm with a puzzled look. “Oh dear, there was such a big fly earlier, and I missed it! What a miscalculation!”

With an expression of mock regret, Ning Fan faintly smiled while Wu Rong and his crew imdiately darkened in expression.

The man slapped by Ning Fan held his face, now imprinted with a bright red mark, and glared at Ning Fan so angrily that his eyes seed about to bulge out. Furiously, he growled, “What are you trying to do?!”

Slap!

This ti, it wasn’t Ning Fan who struck but Wu Rong.

Everyone, except for Ning Fan who watched amusedly, was stunned as they stared at Wu Rong, not understanding why he acted this way.

“Do you even have the right to speak here? Step back!”

Wu Rong scolded the lackey sharply, showing not an ounce of rcy. He not only refused to help the man but even seed to align himself with Ning Fan instead.

The lackey could only swallow his grievances in silence, though his burning resentnt showed clearly in his eyes. Right now, he probably wished he could tear Ning Fan limb from limb.

“Apologies. My lack of discipline must have upset you, Mr. Ning. You’re not still angry, are you?”

Wu Rong pulled out a handkerchief, wiping his hands with a calm deanor tinged with a touch of apology.

But Ning Fan rolled his eyes and shook his head. “I rely dealt with a pesky fly—why would I be angry?”

To Ning Fan, the lackey wasn’t worth an ounce of attention. All he did was swat away a fly; how could such an insignificant insect warrant his anger?

Baby Hai, standing beside him, also let out a breath of relief. She had long been fed up with the arrogance of this group.

“Wu Rong, right? What do you want from ? I’m busy, and you didn’t arrange an appointnt. I’ll let it slide this ti, but get to the point.”

Ning Fan wasted no ti in trivialities. He wasn’t about to lose his precious ti on Wu Rong, so Wu Rong had better quickly state his reason for coming.

Originally planning to exchange pleasantries and test Ning Fan’s limits, Wu Rong found himself slightly taken aback by Ning Fan’s directness. Still, his reaction was quick, and he imdiately replied, “In that case, isn’t this place a bit inappropriate?”

Wu Rong glanced toward Baby Hai as he spoke, clearly hinting that her presence as a cop made the conversation unsuitable.

“If you don’t want to talk, then I’ll leave. Don’t regret it later.”

Ning Fan didn’t believe Wu Rong had anything to discuss that Baby Hai couldn’t hear. Besides, Ning Fan didn’t know this man, so why should he comply with his wishes?

He figured if Wu Rong wanted to talk, he should just speak. If he didn’t, Ning Fan wasn’t interested in wasting ti.

Having Ning Fan’s support now, Baby Hai didn’t hold back either, confidently chiming in, “Yeah, what can’t I hear? Go ahead and say it!”

The duo’s teamwork put a frown on Wu Rong’s face.
