"Hey, have you heard? The Necrotic Tide in the Abandoned Plains has erupted completely!"
"An eruption is nothing. I have even bigger news. I’ve heard this Necrotic Tide wasn’t caused by a Semi-Saint’s corpse, but by a Saint’s Corpse Spirit!"
"Really?!"
"A Saint’s Corpse Spirit?!"
"Shit, what are we waiting for, let’s go!"
On the streets of the forsaken town, a group of adventurers whispered among themselves.
"A Saint’s Corpse Spirit? Necrotic Tide? Haven’t the corpse spirits been rampaging for a long ti? How are they still causing chaos?"
A white-robed young man who overheard the adventurers frowned slightly, looking puzzled at the adventurers who hurried off.
Beside the white-robed youth was a burly young man dressed in black, the two contrasting yet complenting each other perfectly.
"The Necrotic Tide is the peak period of corpse spirit rampages. Each rampage can last for several months; sotis the tide alone lasts for months. There’s no set duration; it all depends on the strength of the awakened corpse spirits!"
A sincere voice sounded.
The white-robed youth turned his head and smiled gently, "Vice-leader Jin Hu? What a coincidence!"
"Yeah, didn’t expect to run into you again!"
A burly man, similar in stature to the man in black, approached the pair.
These two were Jiang Chen and Yan Hu, who had left Changling Academy, and the person explaining to them was Jin Hu, the vice-leader of the Jinge Adventurers’ Guild, who had once t Jiang Chen.
"I am Jiang Chen, and this is my brother, Yan Hu!"
Jiang Chen introduced the two of them with a light chuckle.
"Leader of the Jinge Adventurers’ Guild, Jin Hu."
Jin Hu reintroduced himself.
Jiang Chen was slightly taken aback, a hint of surprise in his eyes.
"The leader... is dead!"
Catching the confusion in Jiang Chen’s eyes, Jin Hu spoke with a somber expression.
Jiang Chen’s expression shifted slightly. He reached out to pat Jin Hu’s shoulder, offering comfort.
"In adventuring guilds, people die every day. It’s not unusual!"
Jin Hu smiled slightly. Although his face was full of smiles, the pain in his eyes betrayed his true emotions.
"Leader Jin Hu, we also want to train in the Abandoned Plains. If you don’t mind, wait for us for a bit. We’ll go to the Forsaken Tavern first and then head out together."
Jiang Chen asked softly.
"Of course, I don’t mind. It’s an honor for my Jinge Adventurers’ Guild that you both are willing to co. I too am heading to the Forsaken Tavern to wait for our team, so let’s go together."
Jin Hu replied with a light laugh, having already considered Jiang Chen as a talented youth from a prestigious family since their last eting.
"Alright, let’s go together!"
Jiang Chen nodded with a light smile.
The three of them walked towards the Forsaken Tavern.
"What are you doing?"
"Doing what? All your Jinge Adventurers’ Guild mbers are dead, so why are you still occupying the tavern’s room? Hand over the room key!"
"You bastard! Chen Kang, do you dare to bully my Jinge Adventurers’ Guild?"
"Haha, so what if I bully? If Jin Long were still alive, I wouldn’t dare do anything to you. Too bad he’s gone on the plains, not only did he die, but most of your guild is dead too, just a few cats and dogs left.
Haha, I’ll humiliate you however I want. Let tell you, hand over the tavern’s room key if you know what’s good for you, or I’ll send you all to join that dead dragon Jin Long!"
Before Jiang Chen and the others reached the tavern, they heard a commotion coming from its entrance.
The three were slightly taken aback, and Jin Hu’s face imdiately turned dark as he swiftly headed for the Forsaken Tavern.
"Let’s go take a look!"
Jiang Chen called out to Yan Hu and followed Jin Hu in a leap.
At the entrance of the Forsaken Tavern.
A dozen n surrounded three guys, attracting a crowd of onlookers.
"Chen Kang, just try and lay a finger on my team mbers!"
A loud shout erupted, and a burly figure squeezed out from the crowd, standing in front of the three besieged n, glaring angrily at the leading middle-aged man.
"Leader!"
"Leader!"
The three n bead with joy upon seeing Jin Hu and called out one after another.
"Jin Hu, your Jinge Adventurers’ Guild has only four of you left. Do you dare venture into the plains to hunt corpse spirits? I’d say you’d be better off joining us in the Weilong Adventurers’ Guild. I assure you, I’ll give you a squad leader position, and you’ll definitely have more than four under you. How about it?"
Chen Kang teased Jin Hu mockingly.
"Yeah, Leader Jin Hu, join the Weilong Adventurers’ Guild!"
"Look at how many of you are left. How can four people hunt corpse spirits?"
"If you go to the Abandoned Plains, are you hunting the corpse spirits, or are they hunting you?"
"Haha, sending an adventurers’ guild to be hunted by corpse spirits, never heard of that before!"
The dozen n around laughed loudly in mockery.
"Who said the Jinge Adventurers’ Guild has only four people?"
A shout rang out as two young n erged from the crowd.
Chen Kang and his n were montarily taken aback, frowning slightly as they focused their gaze.
"Divine Infant Realm Peak?!"
"Damn! Jin Hu, your Jinge Adventurers’ Guild is really finished. You’re recruiting even those at the Divine Infant Realm Peak?"
"Haha, just cannon fodder at the Divine Infant Realm Peak, got yourself so cannon fodder?"
"Impressive, Jin Hu, you’re better than your brother. Your brother stubbornly refused cannon fodder; now he’s dead. You’ve started recruiting them, huh?"
Noticing Jiang Chen and Yan Hu’s cultivation level, Chen Kang and his n burst out laughing.
"Jiang Chen, Yan Hu, don’t listen to their nonsense. I never ant to treat you as cannon fodder!"
Jin Hu glared fiercely at Chen Kang and his crew before hastily explaining to Jiang Chen.
"Leader Jin Hu, from our last eting, I knew you were a trustworthy person. I do have that level of trust in you."
Jiang Chen smiled slightly, glancing at Chen Kang and his n, saying calmly, "Arguing with them here is pointless. Let’s go inside."
"Alright!"
Jin Hu nodded, turning towards the Forsaken Tavern.
"Where do you think you’re going?"
Chen Kang spoke coldly.
Thud thud thud!
A dozen n stepped forward, directly blocking Jiang Chen and the others’ path.
"Hand over the tavern’s room key!"
Chen Kang demanded, a cold gleam in his eyes, "Jin Hu, I’m out of patience. Hand it over, or I’ll send you all to join your dead brother!"
"You..."
Anger flared in Jin Hu’s eyes as he glared at Chen Kang, fists clenched tightly, yet he hesitated to respond.
Jiang Chen glanced at Chen Kang and his n. Among the dozen, Chen Kang was at Mid-stage of Virtual Refinent Realm, while the others were at Initial Stage.
If it weren’t for the two of them, Jin Hu and his group might have really been overwheld by them!
