Upon hearing Su Qingluan’s status, Yan Li looked at her in astonishnt.
At Late Integration Realm, Su Qingluan shouldn’t qualify to be an Inner Court Elder at Changling Academy. Although there’s one exception at the academy—a strong Unity Realm Stage figure who was promoted as an Inner Court Elder despite not eting the standard—Yan Li knew who that was, Jiang Chen’s master, not this beautiful and serene lady.

The minimum qualification for an Inner Court Elder at Changling Academy is Integration Realm Peak, and for Su Qingluan to be an elder at Late Integration Realm and a master of Spiritual Arrays, Yan Li’s conjectures were now confird thanks to Jiang Chen’s indirect affirmation.
"I wonder if Miss Su would like to join us on our journey?"
Yan Li invited her outright.
"Senior Yan Li!"
Jiang Chen intervened softly, cutting off Yan Li’s words: "You can’t just invite Elder Su with compensation; it’s likely they’ll journey with instead."

Zhuo Bufan glared at Jiang Chen with feigned annoyance, "Now that I’ve found you, there’s no way I’ll let you venture this abandoned plain alone!"

Zhuo Bufan, Lei Kai, Fire Phoenix, Pang Guang, and Yan Li paused in unfamiliarity with Jiang Chen’s past.

Jiang Chen declared coldly.

Su Qingluan sensed deep anings in Jiang Chen’s words, asking in astonishnt.
Everyone froze, then lifted their heads to gaze at Jiang Chen.
"Yes, we wanted to encircle him, but he fled when he saw he couldn’t overpower us!"
Jiang Chen nodded lightly.
"Ah, startled ! So you faced him together, not alone?"
Zhuo Bufan feigned irritation: "Please make that clear next ti!"
Jiang Chen smiled briefly, gazing at everyone as he sincerely said, "Thank you."
Startled, the group soon realized the bond between them had deepened, all smiling quietly.
For Su Qingluan and the others to brave danger to find him, hints in their words revealed they did so fearing Gui Ying might trouble Jiang Chen. He had taken note of this indebtedness deeply.

Zhuo Bufan waved a hand, eyes gleaming at Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen offered with a light smile.

Zhuo Bufan was montarily stunned. He only joked to lighten the mood, not expecting Jiang Chen’s generosity—giving him the Sky-Cleaving Strike technique and offering the Sky-Cleaving Spear as well.
