Seeing Dragon Hollyhock’s expectant look, Ye Xiu was left speechless. She had completely lost her mind.
"Sorry, I’m already spoken for tonight," he said. "How about you book for tomorrow night in advance?"
Dragon Hollyhock was secretly disappointed but replied, "Okay, then I’m booking you for tomorrow night. You can’t promise yourself to anyone else."
"A reservation requires paynt," Ye Xiu said.
"Didn’t I already give you 900?" she asked.
"I waited for you all night, but you never showed up at my place," Ye Xiu stated.
Dragon Hollyhock grew anxious. "I did go that night, but you weren’t ho!"
"I never said what ti I’d be ho. You’re the one who left," Ye Xiu retorted.
Taking a deep breath, Dragon Hollyhock suppressed the urge to slap him. She pulled 900 yuan from her purse and handed it to Ye Xiu.
"Done!" Ye Xiu said, taking the money. "Wait for my ssage tomorrow night."
With that, he entered Sacred He dical College.
Dragon Hollyhock watched his retreating figure, letting out a long sigh of relief. She had finally managed to schedule a eting with Ye Xiu.
It was only eight-thirty in the morning, yet Sacred He dical College was already bustling. New students, either by themselves or with their parents, all had faces beaming with pride and excitent. As the sacred land of Xuanse’s dical community, becoming a student at Sacred He dical College was a matter of great pride. The entire campus buzzed with a celebratory atmosphere, much like the New Year.
"Hey, where do I register for Ancient dicine?" a young man of about twenty barked, blocking Ye Xiu’s path. His attitude was incredibly arrogant and domineering. Following him were a middle-aged couple, who appeared to be his parents.
"Is that any way to ask for directions?" Ye Xiu frowned.
"Cut the crap," the young man cursed. "If you know, spit it out. If not, get lost."
Ye Xiu was silently furious. What kind of new student has the Ghost Doctor admitted? This one has no manners at all. He turned to the young man’s parents. "He’s being so rude. Aren’t you going to do anything about it?"
"My son’s manners are none of your damn business. Just tell us where to register for the Ancient dicine program," the father said impatiently.
"Don’t waste your breath on him," the mother added. "I doubt he knows where the registration point is anyway. Let’s just ask soone else."
Ye Xiu finally understood why the young man was so ill-mannered. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
"Hey, do you know or not?" the young man demanded irritably.
"See that building at the end of the path?" Ye Xiu said, casually pointing in a random direction. "Go there, turn left and walk fifty ters, then turn right and walk another fifty ters. You’ll find it."
The young man listened and then left with his parents without so much as a thank you.
Ye Xiu frowned. With such a volatile temperant, that kid is clearly not cut out for studying Ancient dicine. How did he even pass the screening? It seems there’s a problem with the Ghost Doctor’s admission process, allowing too many impostors to slip in. This needs to be dealt with imdiately! I can’t let one bad apple spoil the bunch here at Sacred He dical College.
Just as Ye Xiu decided to go find the Ghost Doctor, a series of urgent car horns blared from behind him. He turned to look.
A black rcedes barreled recklessly into Sacred He dical College, speeding wildly through the campus. Everywhere it went, startled new students and their parents scrambled to get out of the way.
Suddenly, a girl wearing a mask and a baseball cap couldn’t dodge in ti. She was grazed by the side-view mirror and sent tumbling to the ground. The black rcedes showed no intention of stopping, not even slowing down, as if it had rely clipped a stray animal and couldn’t care less.
"Stop the car!"
Enraged, Ye Xiu stepped directly into the black rcedes’s path. The driver clearly saw him but didn’t slow down, instead charging straight at him, obviously intending to force him out of the way.
Ye Xiu glared at the approaching car, refusing to move an inch. As the rcedes drew closer and closer, the hearts of the students and parents watching were lodged in their throats. At that speed, the consequences of a direct collision would be unimaginable.
SCREECH!
Seeing that Ye Xiu wasn’t going to budge, the driver lost his nerve and slamd on the brakes. The car’s tires left dark skid marks on the road as it ca to a screeching halt, stopping with its front bumper less than a centiter from Ye Xiu. If the driver had braked even a fraction of a second later, the car would have hit him.
"Bastard!" The driver jumped out of the car, pointing at Ye Xiu and shouting, "Are you looking for a death wish? If you want to die, go kill yourself sowhere else! Don’t get my car dirty."
As he shouted, the killing intent in his eyes was unmistakable.
Ye Xiu’s gaze sharpened. A Sang Jing Ninja Warrior? No wonder he’s so arrogant!
He spoke in a cold voice, "Today is registration day for new students at Sacred He dical College. With so many people on campus, don’t you think driving so recklessly is going too far?"
"What do I care about registration day? I honked to warn them. If they get killed, it’s because they were blind," the driver, Take Shitamura, shot back. "Do you have any idea whose car this is? This belongs to Miyamoto Satoshi, the dicine King of Sang Jing! He’s here to see the Ghost Doctor. Get out of the way now! You can’t afford the consequences of delaying him."
When Ye Xiu first stopped the car, the surrounding students and parents had already gathered to watch. Hearing that Miyamoto Satoshi, the dicine King of Sang Jing, was inside, they were all stunned. The news that Miyamoto Satoshi was leading a Sang Jing dical delegation to Jin Ye City to challenge the Ghost Doctor had already spread like wildfire through the Xuanse dical community.
The new students, having co from major dical colleges all over the country, had naturally heard about it, as had their parents. Originally, they had been quite excited. A duel of dical skills between the dicine Kings of two nations was about to happen right as their school term began, and they thought they would get to witness this once-in-a-century spectacle.
But they never expected Miyamoto Satoshi to behave like this.
"Does being the dicine King of Sang Jing an you can just run people over? This is Xuanse, and this is Sacred He dical College, not Sang Jing!"
"How arrogant! This is a clear sign of disrespect for the Ghost Doctor."
"The dicine King of Sang Jing? Don’t make laugh! A doctor, above all, should be compassionate. Yet he lets his driver tear through campus, knocking over a new student without even stopping. Trash like that is not worthy of challenging the Ghost Doctor."
"Tell Miyamoto Satoshi to get out here and apologize!"
The surrounding crowd grew incensed, with so shouting curses.
"All of you, shut up!" Take Shitamura’s face turned red with anger. He pointed threateningly at the crowd. "Mr. Miyamoto is here representing the entire Sang Jing dical community to challenge the Ghost Doctor! By insulting him, you are insulting all of Sang Jing’s dical world. Aren’t you afraid I’ll report you to the Honglu Temple?"
His threat did indeed intimidate the crowd. They were genuinely afraid of causing an international incident and bringing unnecessary trouble upon the Ghost Doctor.
"Hmph. So you do know Miyamoto Satoshi represents the Sang Jing dical community," Ye Xiu said coldly. "By driving like this on the grounds of Sacred He dical College, you are disgracing him and the entire Sang Jing dical community. Are all people from Sang Jing so barbaric, with no concept of traffic laws?"
