Kangtai Hospital.
This private hospital used to belong to the Xu Family but was fully acquired by the Rongfu Consortium. It was the only asset among the holdings of Ye Xiu’s enemies in Jin Ye City that the consortium purchased outright. All the others were equity acquisitions.
However, the contract had just been signed. Before the Rongfu Consortium could even announce the change of ownership, Ye Xiu released the list of the masterminds who had frad him ten years ago. As a result, Kangtai Hospital’s reputation was ruined overnight. That very day, all patients transferred out. From the hospital director down, every doctor, nurse, staff mber, and even the security guards at the gate resigned.
After Kuroki Suzu fled back to Sang Jing, Miyamoto Satoshi and the mbers of the Sang Jing dical Observation Group received orders to move into Kangtai Hospital. They held a press conference to announce its acquisition by the Rongfu Consortium, yet not a single patient ca for treatnt.
However, today, Kangtai Hospital was bustling.
Mutou Bingyuan, who had covertly infiltrated Jin Ye City along with 100 Sang Jing Ninja Warriors, had all checked into Kangtai Hospital under the guise of being patients.
Inside a special care ward, Mutou Bingyuan, dressed in a patient’s gown and sitting cross-legged on the hospital bed, asked, "It’s already 11:40 PM. Why isn’t Kuroki Suzu here yet?"
"Lord Kuroki Suzu’s high-speed train arrived at the Jin Ye City Train Station at eight o’clock. It shouldn’t take an hour to get here. There’s no reason for her to be this late," Miyamoto Satoshi said, puzzled.
Just then, a mber of the dical observation group pushed the door open and said respectfully, "Young Master, Lord Kuroki Suzu has arrived."
"Have her co see ," Mutou Bingyuan ordered.
"Lord Kuroki Suzu was carrying many things and rushed to the elevator for the top floor," the group mber reported.
Mutou Bingyuan and Miyamoto Satoshi were taken aback.
"What’s she doing on the top floor?" Mutou Bingyuan asked, puzzled as he got off the bed. "Co on, let’s go check it out!"
"Yes!" Miyamoto Satoshi quickly followed.
They went to the top floor, only to be told by a Sang Jing Ninja Warrior that Kuroki Suzu had gone to the rooftop. So, the two n proceeded to the roof and were completely stunned by the scene before them.
There was Kuroki Suzu, kneeling on the ground. Lit incense and candles were placed before her, surrounded by stacks of Paper Money.
"Kuroki Suzu, what are you doing?" Mutou Bingyuan asked.
"I dreamt of my late grandparents, so I’m paying my respects," Kuroki Suzu replied perfunctorily. She was strictly following Ye Xiu’s order not to speak of her eting with the "master."
"I see!" Mutou Bingyuan nodded. "But this seems to be the Xuanse thod of paying respects. Why aren’t you using our Sang Jing way?"
"When in Ro," Kuroki Suzu said.
Mutou Bingyuan and Miyamoto Satoshi’s faces instantly darkened. She’s even ’doing as the Romans do’ when paying respects to the dead?
"You’re using Xuanse Hell Money. Your grandparents were from Sang Jing. Will they even be able to use it?" Mutou Bingyuan questioned.
"Heaven has banks. My grandparents can exchange the Xuanse Hell Money for Sangjing Hell Money," Kuroki Suzu stated.
Mutou Bingyuan didn’t know how to respond. Heh. Is Heaven really that modern? After all, he had never died, so he had no way of knowing if Heaven actually had banks.
Kuroki Suzu glanced at her watch—it was almost midnight. Mutou Bingyuan and Miyamoto Satoshi then watched as she took a slip of paper from her pocket and reverently unfolded it.
Once the clock struck midnight, Kuroki Suzu began burning the Paper Money while chanting from the note: "Spirits of heaven and earth, grant your presence, Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad, Lord Guan, Lord Cao Guo, Santa Claus, Sun Wukong, the Pyramid’s Temple of the God of Wealth, Hello Kitty, Doraemon, Iron Man, the Seven Fairies, unleash a Big Move on behalf of the moon, bless with smooth sailing, grant safety and peace..."
Mutou Bingyuan and Miyamoto Satoshi gasped. What in the world was she reciting?
PFFT... HAHAHAHA...
From a dark corner of the rooftop, a sudden burst of laughter erupted.
"Who’s there?" Mutou Bingyuan and Miyamoto Satoshi spun around as if facing a great enemy, and Miyamoto Satoshi instantly moved to shield Mutou Bingyuan.
Kuroki Suzu, however, remained unfazed. As if she hadn’t heard the laughter, she continued her chanting, rembering that the master had told her she must be devout.
"Sorry, I just couldn’t hold it in." Ye Xiu erged from the darkness, laughing.
The faces of Mutou Bingyuan and Miyamoto Satoshi changed dramatically, especially Miyamoto Satoshi’s. As an Eighth Grade Grandmaster, he hadn’t sensed anyone hiding on the roof. But when he saw Ye Xiu’s baseball cap, sunglasses, and SpongeBob SquarePants mask, Miyamoto Satoshi exclaid, "Brother Shui?"
That was right. Ye Xiu’s current disguise was exactly that of Brother Shui, right down to the voice. In fact, the voice Ye Xiu used as Brother Shui, as well as the one he used as the driver "master," were both different from his own. He had also worn a mask when he told Kuroki Suzu’s fortune, never revealing his true face to her.
"Is he the guy with the ’watery’ na that Kuroki Suzu ntioned?" asked Mutou Bingyuan.
"That’s him," Miyamoto Satoshi confird. "Back when Lady Kuroki Suzu was holding her challenge at the stadium, she was disrupted by a woman with a black plastic bag over her head. Lady Kuroki Suzu had planned to kill all the Martial Artists in Jin Ye City, but this ’guy with the watery na’ stopped her. He even killed two Eighth Grade Grandmasters. After that, he and Lady Kuroki Suzu went to a hotel together, which is when we were targeted by a sniper."
Kuroki Suzu had already told him all of this. Hearing it again didn’t surprise Mutou Bingyuan; what truly shocked him was why "Brother Shui" was here. The entire hospital was filled with their own people, including one hundred Sang Jing Ninja Warriors. Not even a War God could have infiltrated so silently. Yet this Brother Shui had not only gotten in but had been hiding on the roof for so ti without him, Miyamoto Satoshi, or Kuroki Suzu noticing. This man’s concealnt skills are superb!
"What are you up to, hiding here in the dead of night?" Mutou Bingyuan stared coldly at Ye Xiu. His right hand surreptitiously slipped into his pocket, thumb-typing a ssage to his guards.
"What if I said I couldn’t sleep and just ca out for so fun? Would you believe ?" Ye Xiu asked with a smile.
"What do you think?" Mutou Bingyuan snorted. "I’m not a fool. I won’t believe such nonsense."
"But it is the truth," Ye Xiu said with a helpless shrug. He couldn’t help it. While Kuroki Suzu was out buying her incense and Paper Money, he’d finished dinner and co here early, just to see if she had truly fallen for his ruse. As it turned out, she was hopelessly lost in superstition. Her pious expression as she chanted was so hilarious that he couldn’t hold back his laughter.
"How about this? If you don’t believe , I’ll just leave now," Ye Xiu suggested.
"Since you’re here, you’re not leaving," Mutou Bingyuan sneered. "Kuroki Suzu, kill him. At once." His infiltration of Jin Ye City was a top-secret matter, and he absolutely could not let Brother Shui leak the secret. Besides, Brother Shui had killed Sang Jing Ninja Warriors before. He was already an enemy who had to be eliminated.
"Spirits of heaven and earth, grant your presence, Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad..." As if she hadn’t heard Mutou Bingyuan’s command, Kuroki Suzu continued to chant devoutly.
