"Dad, if we keep pressuring Qin Qing like this, what if Ye Xiu finds out...?" Wu iyu said ekly, lowering her head, not daring to look directly at Qin Fugui.
Qin Qing glanced at her mother, Wu iyu, her heart filling with bitterness. In the entire Qin Family, only Mom truly cares about . But she doesn’t dare defy Grandfather’s orders. She can only bring up Ye Xiu’s na to try and intimidate them.
"What’s there to be afraid of?" Qin Fugui said with the arrogance of an old man who knew his word was law. "We’re Qin Qing’s family. What could he possibly do to us? He’s just trying to scare us, that’s all."
After the night they had spread flyers all over the city, Qin Fugui had thought it through. No matter how ruthless Ye Xiu is, no matter how many people he’s killed, he would never actually harm Qin Qing’s family. If he really did kill one of us, even if Qin Qing didn’t bla him, what would happen to his reputation once word got out? Besides, Qin Qing would never allow Ye Xiu to kill her family.

The other family mbers mulled it over for a mont and realized that Qin Fugui and Qin Anruo made a terrifying amount of sense. Instantly, their fear and apprehension of Ye Xiu vanished.
Qin Zhongwu said forcefully, "Qin Qing, this 50,000,000 is getting paid today. Whether you want to or not is irrelevant. It’s not up to you."
Qin Anruo’s mother, He Qing, chided, "Anruo is your younger cousin, and this is the first ti she’s eting her fiancé. We’re asking you for 50,000,000 because we consider you family. We’re showing you respect, so don’t be shaless about it."
Grandmother Liu Xiaocui added, "For Anruo’s happiness, and for the reputation of our Qin Family, Qin Qing, when you give Lu Zewei the money later, act casual. Let him and the Lu Family see that a re 50,000,000 is just chump change to us."
"Then it’s settled. Anruo, go and bring Lu Zewei in." Qin Fugui sealed the matter with a final word, then shot a cold glare at Qin Qing. "When Lu Zewei cos in, you follow my lead. If you refuse to give him the money and make and the family lose face... hmph. I can’t do anything to *you*, but I can certainly make your mother suffer."
Qin Qing whipped her head around to stare at Qin Fugui, her eyes wide with disbelief. To save face, to make the Lu Family accept Qin Anruo, to force into giving this gift... he’s actually threatening with my own mother. Is this really my grandfather? He’s a beast! Yet, she had to admit, he had found her weak spot. She was truly terrified that he and the rest of the family would take it out on her mother, and she knew they were cruel enough to do it. No matter how much they pressured her or how vile their words beca, she would never give Lu Zewei that gift. But for her mother’s sake... she had to cave.
"Grandpa Qin, Junyi and I went out for a quick smoke. Sorry to keep you all waiting," Lu Zewei said apologetically as he walked back in with Qin Anruo and Qin Junyi.
"Not a problem, co, sit," Qin Fugui said with a kindly expression.
The sight sent a sharp, agonizing pain through Qin Qing’s heart. We’re both his granddaughters, yet the family treats my husband like a dog while fawning over Qin Anruo’s fiancé like a king.
"Zewei, my boy, we have a tradition in the Qin Family," Qin Fugui began, looking at Lu Zewei with a benevolent smile. "Whenever one of the children brings ho a partner, we always like to give a small greeting gift as a gesture."
Lu Zewei was taken aback, then flattered. "Grandpa Qin, you’re far too kind. There’s no need for a greeting gift, really. As long as you approve of , that’s more than enough."
We only just made our relationship official. We’re just dating, not even close to talking about marriage. A greeting gift seems a bit much!
"How could we ever disapprove of you? The first ti I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the man for my granddaughter," Qin Fugui declared, effectively giving his blessing for the marriage. He left no room for argunt. "As for the gift, it’s a family tradition. You must accept it."
"Ahem, alright then!" Seeing how insistent Qin Fugui was, Lu Zewei felt it would be rude to refuse again. It’s just a greeting gift, after all. Probably not much money. No harm in accepting it.
Seeing Lu Zewei agree, Qin Fugui announced grandly, "Alright, let’s do it this way. My wife and I will each give you 5,000,000..."
Lu Zewei’s jaw nearly hit the floor. Holy crap! Are the Qins this rich and loaded? A casual greeting gift is 10,000,000?
Just then, Qin Qing’s father, Qin Zhongwen, spoke up. "As Anruo’s eldest uncle, I should contribute as well. My wife and I will each give you 1,000,000. I hope you don’t think it’s too little."
"Heh, not at all, not at all..." Lu Zewei’s lips twitched.
"And as her parents, we have to do even more," Qin Anruo’s father, Qin Zhongwu, said with a smile. "My wife and I will each give you 2,000,000." He had originally planned on giving one million each, but he suddenly felt that was too stingy and doubled it.
Lu Zewei’s mouth twitched again, leaving him speechless.
"And as Anruo’s older cousin, I’m sure Qin Qing wants to express her welco too. As for how much... she can decide for herself," Qin Fugui said with a chuckle, shooting a threatening look at Qin Qing.
Lu Zewei imdiately turned to Qin Qing, his eyes filled with anticipation. He had learned from Qin Anruo long ago that Qin Qing was not only Ye Xiu’s wife but also the chairman of the Zhulu Group. A gift from her probably won’t be just a few million, will it?
The rest of the Qin Family also turned to Qin Qing, their faces plastered with expectant smiles.
Chloe stared intently at Qin Qing, screaming internally, Don’t give them anything! Don’t you dare compromise! The Young Master can’t afford to lose face like this!
"A gift from my dear cousin will surely be extraordinary, won’t it?" Qin Anruo asked, feigning anticipation when Qin Qing remained silent.
Qin Qing ignored her, ignored all of them. She slowly rose to her feet, her expressionless face turning to Lu Zewei as she said coldly, "I’ll give you hell, that’s what I’ll give you!"
I’ve made up my mind. The worst that can happen is I’ll move Mom to Tu Mountain Manor. They want to compromise? No way in hell.
The smiles on the faces of the Qin Family froze, then curdled into fury.
Lu Zewei looked completely mortified. Fine, don’t give a gift, but why get so angry?
Chloe, however, smiled. That’s the Young Master’s woman, alright. Perfectly said... beautiful.
"Anruo, you and Zewei step outside for a mont. I need to have a word with your cousin," Qin Fugui said, his voice deceptively pleasant as he struggled to suppress his rage.
"Okay!" Qin Anruo nodded, pulling the bewildered Lu Zewei toward the door of the private room.
But the mont she opened it, she froze. She stared for three full seconds before letting out a choked cry. "Ye Xiu?"
With a collective gasp, everyone—Qin Qing, Chloe, and the entire Qin Family—snapped their heads toward the doorway.
When they saw Ye Xiu standing there, Qin Qing and Chloe broke into smiles.
The faces of the Qin Family, however, turned deathly pale. They might have talked big about not being afraid of Ye Xiu, but deep down, they were terrified of him.
"You’re... you’re the Divine Doctor Ye?" Lu Zewei stared at Ye Xiu with feverish excitent, fumbling to extend a hand. "Hello, hello! I’m, uh, Lu Zewei. It’s such a pleasure to et you!"
"Just how pleased are you?" Ye Xiu asked, his face a mask of indifference.
