Upon witnessing Group B's helicopter explode midair, Lieutenant Louis on board another Black Hawk Helicopter clenched his teeth in rage and imdiately waved his hand while yelling like a mad dog, "Pull up! Pull up! Pull up!"

After all, he was an experienced reconnaissance officer. With Group B's helicopter gone, it was only a matter of ti before his own helicopter would be next.

Indeed, as the pilot quickly pulled up the helicopter, the tarp finally detached completely from the truck, revealing several dark gun muzzles in their field of vision.

The "Musicians" atop the truck didn't spare their bullets, pressing down on their triggers and spraying a barrage at the Black Hawk Helicopter.

Bang Bang Bang—

Ratatat—

The sounds of M4A1 rifles and M240 machine guns intermingled, and bullets rained down on the helicopter like droplets.

Fortunately, Louis's shout had saved everyone.

By the ti the helicopter started to ascend and tilt its underbelly toward the truck, most of the bullets struck the helicopter's belly, creating a cacophony of clatters and a heart-stopping shower of sparks.

The Black Hawk Helicopter ascended to a height of 400 ters before it finally stabilized itself. Louis looked down at the ground and was so angry he nearly exploded on the spot.

The Qiwa truck had stopped at the roadside, but the people were gone!

Not a single one was left!

"Are these guys monkeys?!"

He ground his molars in fury.

They had lost one helicopter, a reconnaissance squad, plus a crew, all from his two-helicopter, 18-man reconnaissance team.

If he didn't kill these guys, he feared he would be cleaned out upon returning, even possibly imdiately stripped of his military uniform and kicked out.

He imdiately reported the helicopter crash and personnel losses to brigade headquarters and requested imdiate reinforcents to the Latagua Border Region.

Brigade headquarters promptly replied, stating that they would dispatch two platoons from the nearest barracks to support the operations in Latagua region. Since there were no available helicopters nearby, reinforcents could only arrive by vehicle, taking roughly an hour, and instructed Louis to attempt an interception with the helicopter imdiately.

"Keep watch over the Puduma River, circle the river section in flight, they must be looking to cross it!"

The duty officer at brigade headquarters wasn't foolish.

From Louis's report, it looked like the enemy was attempting to cross into Ecuador, and since it was the rainy season, even the narrowest point of the river was nearly forty ters wide.

The mont they tried to cross the river would be the pri opportunity to attack them.

If they chose to hide in the jungle, once the reinforcents arrived, they could be trapped and captured without exception, with overwhelming force.

"Head imdiately to the vicinity of the Puduma River and monitor the river surface," Louis commanded the pilot, then turned to his team and said, "From now on, if you spot the enemy, kill them without hesitation. These guys aren't ordinary drug traffickers, so don't hesitate or show rcy!"

As he said this, Louis turned his binoculars towards the area where Group B's helicopter had crashed.

The entire helicopter had already burned down to its fra.

There was no sign of anyone escaping from around it.

It was clear that everyone on board had died.

Actually, Louis had already anticipated such an outco.

A rocket-propelled grenade had hit the helicopter directly, causing it to explode in midair; the blast alone had taken nurous lives on board, not to ntion the fall from the sky—surviving that would have been a miracle.

"Damn it! They all deserve to die!"

Louis was raging with powerless fury, feeling helpless.

The enemy didn't seem nurous.

There appeared to be just eight or nine people, yet they had easily taken down one of his helicopters and nine of his n, then slipped into the jungle effortlessly.

The squadmate nad Lonnie asked, "Captain, should we go down and pursue them?"

Chase my ass!" Louis cursed. "Didn't you hear what I just said about flying to the Puduma River nearby to intercept them? Go down and chase them? Do you think the nine of us can handle them?"

Lonnie was scolded so fiercely that he didn't dare to even breathe heavily.

Clearly, the captain was hesitating.

Of course, Lonnie wholeheartedly agreed with Louis's decision in his mind.

Seeing the way those "drug traffickers" fought, they were like a pack of wolves—fierce and vicious! Going down to fight them head-on, they really couldn't be sure they'd co out on top.

Louis, for his part, was clear in his mind.

He had already gauged the capabilities of Song Heping and his team from the brief firefight.

These people definitely weren't drug traffickers.

Drug traffickers didn't have this kind of ability.

But it was also evident they weren't from ELN or AUC; he had never seen such formidable people among the ard organizations.

His mind was a ss; he had no idea who they had encountered that had brought such bad luck upon him.

However, staying on the helicopter, he was confident he could handle these people.

This Black Hawk Helicopter, although only a general-purpose helicopter lacking ground attack weapons, was equipped with an M240 machine gun mounted beside the cabin.

If he was to lower the altitude to about 200 ters and take a high-ground position to block the river, there was no escaping for the enemy.

His only thought now was to stall until ground reinforcents arrived.

The re thought of recklessly landing and tracking through the jungle sent chills down his spine.

"Have they gone?"

In the jungle, the Cook looked up at the canopy, listening attentively to the distant sound of the helicopter rotors, his face showing relief.

"They didn't leave..."

Song Heping's brow never relaxed.

"They went to the riverbank, wanting to ambush us there."

"This is bad," Grey Wolf shook his head and said, "Our landing zone is on the riverbank, and it's all open ground with no cover. If we board the helicopter there, we'll likely be sitting ducks..."

"What are you thinking?!" White Wolf said angrily, "Still talking about helicopters, can't you see what ti it is? The boss hasn't even gotten in touch with Dominic, that guy probably played us!"

White Wolf's words cast a thick shadow over everyone's hearts.

Indeed, they still hadn't contacted Dominic.

Everyone's eyes turned in unison toward Song Heping.

Song Heping took out the satellite phone, walked to the side, and started dialing Dominic's number.

He had been texting before, but now he decided to just call directly.

"Hey!"

Unexpectedly, the call actually went through this ti.

"Dominic, where are you now?! Do you have the helicopter?!"

Song Heping heard Dominic's voice and finally felt a weight lift from his heart.

He didn't have the ti to ask why the other side hadn't replied to the texts before. Now was not the ti for that, it was critical to get straight to the point.

"Got it, I'll be there in half an hour," Dominic said.

Song Heping looked at his watch, "You're late!"

"You think I wanted to be late?! Soone got hung up on taking my helicopter to another place. I just made him jump into the river. Get to the evacuation point first, I'll be there on ti, in half an hour!"

"Alright! Be careful, we're being watched by a Colombian Governnt Army helicopter. They'll probably be at the river when you cross, watch out!"

"Don't worry!"

Dominic didn't seem to take the matter very seriously.

Song Heping cut off the call, then said to everyone, "Head to the evacuation point imdiately. We have half an hour, Dominic will arrive there in the helicopter in half an hour."

The group imdiately started running swiftly through the jungle.

Half an hour, that is, thirty minutes, and the evacuation point on the riverbank was nearly five kiloters away.

Don't underestimate this distance of less than five kiloters. Running nearly five kiloters in half an hour through the jungle isn't sothing just anyone can do.

Indeed, after running for just ten minutes, both Ivan and Seras were gasping for air, pale as sheets.

Twenty minutes in, and the two began to vomit.

The rest could only support the two as they ran.

As a result, the pace slowed down again.

In the end, it was White Bear who was decisive. He let go and pushed Seras to the ground with a vicious look, "Either you run with us, or you die. Choose for yourself."

After speaking, he didn't support him anymore and ran off.

Seeing this, the Cook could only pat Ivan on the shoulder and say, "Brother, we are running for our lives. No matter how bad you feel, you have to run faster, or I can't save you either."

Maybe it was the fear of death, or perhaps they realized it was a matter of life or death.

In the final ten minutes, both n didn't utter a sound, staggering along at the back of the group without needing help.

"Seems like we've arrived!"

Grey Wolf, who was running at the front, suddenly stopped, pricked up his ears to listen for a mont, then turned back to Song Heping and said, "The sound of water, we're close to the riverbank."

Song Heping quickly took out the GPS, compared it to the map, and then pointed straight ahead to the right.

"Just over a hundred ters ahead is the riverbank evacuation point."

Upon hearing they were close to the evacuation point, everyone's spirits soared.

Just as they were about to head to the evacuation point, they suddenly heard the sound of helicopter rotors from the sky.

The Cook said excitedly, "It might be Dominic who has arrived!"

After speaking, he was about to dash out of the woods, but White Bear grabbed him.

"Shh! Sothing's not right!"

White Bear issued a warning, his expression becoming extrely tense.

He looked up at the sky.

The trees here were at the river's edge, so they were not as dense as before and through the sparse canopy, one could see the blue sky.

He asked Song Heping, "Boss, didn't Dominic say his company only has MI-171s, right?"

Song Heping nodded.

"The sound of those rotor blades doesn't sound like an MI-171…" White Bear said.

Before he finished speaking, a Black Hawk helicopter flew overhead, its powerful downdraft causing the branches to sway wildly.

Rat-tat-tat—

Rat-tat-tat—

Gunfire ca from the sky.

Song Heping shouted, "Take cover!"

After speaking, he rolled to the side and dove into a pit nearby.
