"I've caught him! I've caught him!"
White Bear suddenly exclaid excitedly, reaching out to grab a leg from the debris of the ruins and dragging soone out like a giant catfish.
Song Heping shouted loudly, "Are you sure?"
White Bear replied, "Positive!"
He finished, sending a kick out.
Following that, the sound of sothing being flung and hitting a gun was heard.
"Suka! You dare resist?!"
Song Heping dared not imdiately go over to confirm if it was Joyce, because anything could happen amid the chaos of the rubble, and there was no guarantee that soone wouldn't suddenly pull out a gun and launch a sneak attack.
He was unwilling to linger here any longer.
Since they had captured the target, it was ti to organize a retreat imdiately.
However, at that mont, he recognized a familiar face among the ruins.
It was Brother Dabiao!
Brother Dabiao had completely lost his usual imposing manner.
His legs were pinned by a solid wood sofa and he could not move at all.
All the furniture here at Batchai's was made of solid wood and was very heavy; a steel bar was impaled through Brother Dabiao's chest, penetrating front to back, like a skewered atball, with bloody bubbles frothing at the corners of his mouth.
Song Heping knew at a glance that his lung lobes had been damaged, and he was likely bleeding internally in his lungs, teetering on the brink of death.
This way of dying was very agonizing.
Brother Dabiao now sowhat resembled a person drowning; his lung lobes filled with blood and fluids, struggling to breathe and get oxygen, but unable to accomplish it.
Song Heping knelt down in front of him, face to face, and then gently pulled down the field scarf covering his face.
"Brother Dabiao, do you still recognize ?"
The hall was pitch dark.
However, a ray of moonlight shot in from the collapsed wall outside, illuminating Song Heping's face.
Brother Dabiao, furrowing his brows, scrutinized him for a mont and exclaid in shock, "...you... it's you…"
An unbelievable terror appeared on his face.
"I... isn't it just... two million... you... cough cough cough—"
His speech was choppy, and he even coughed up blood in the end.
After all, even speaking was very difficult for him now. If it weren't for being utterly shocked, he truly would have preferred to save his strength and await death.
He recognized the man before him: wasn't this the young man who had paid two million in debt to his classmate in An City just over a week ago?
Brother Dabiao thought that Song Heping was specifically here for him.
But he did not understand.
Who was this man?
How could a few people kill so many ard personnel present, especially since this was the Golden Triangle.
He really dared!
He rembered the feeling when he first saw Song Heping.
Even then, he felt that this man had a strong aura of murder, very oppressive.
Now he finally understood where that killing aura ca from.
He really shouldn't have taken that two million...
Song Heping, of course, understood what he wanted to say, smiled and comforted, "Don't worry, I didn't co specifically for you this ti, understand? I do indeed want to ask you for my two million back, after all, every penny I earn is blood-stained. However, running into was indeed bad luck for you. Bye-bye, rember to be a good person in your next life."
Having said this, he stood up, pulled out his gun, and fired.
Bang—
A bullet directly pierced through Brother Dabiao's forehead.
Song Heping pulled the field scarf back over his face and holstered his pistol.
Over the headset, Hunter's voice ca through: "Boss, less than five minutes left, we need to withdraw."
A shadow appeared on the third floor of the small red building.
Hunter imdiately shifted his aim, quickly adjusted his sights on the target, and pulled the trigger.
Bang—
The poor guy didn't even know where the bullet ca from before the back of his head burst open with a blossom of blood, instantly disappearing behind the window sill.
No one dared to show their heads after that.
Song Heping signaled to White Bear, "Clear the area, leave no one behind. Then retreat."
He then relayed over the channel, "Wen Gui, did you get the car ready?"
"We're on the way, almost at the town entrance, hurry up and co out, everyone retreat!"
Before Jing Wengui's voice had fallen, Hunter spotted car lights erging in the distance from the dark atop the hillside.
He picked up binoculars and observed the direction of the car lights, estimated the distance, and then reported to Song Heping, "Boss, a convoy is appearing about three kiloters away, they are big vehicles, I think the civilian organization's people have arrived."
Inside the building, White Bear and Grey Wolf stepped forward and fired at all the bodies and living people among the ruins.
Eventually, White Bear dragged a gas cylinder from the kitchen and placed it in the corner of the first floor lobby.
Grey Wolf took out a hand grenade, pulled the safety pin, and used a rubber band to tie the grenade's spoon and body together. Then, he lit a cigarette and placed it under the rubber band as well.
Having done all this, he placed this special trap mine device on the body of the gas cylinder.
"The cars are here! Let's go, let's go!"
Song Heping stood outside the main door, calling to everyone inside the building.
Grey Wolf and White Bear exited first.
Last was Disaster Star, who had been guarding the second-floor staircase, his gun ready as he moved out, with Song Heping covering close by and Hunter continuing to control the area from a distance.
When everyone was in the vehicle, Song Heping retreated from beside the doorway and jumped into the car.
Jing Wengui made a quick U-turn, stepped on the gas, and the small truck raced out of town.
"Move quickly!"
Song Heping urged Jing Wengui.
At this ti, the car lights were off and Jing Wengui, wearing night-vision goggles, drove in the dark. They soon reached the small hill, where Hunter was already waiting by the roadside.
Song Heping reached out his hand and pulled him onto the vehicle.
The small truck drove north as fast as possible.
The need for speed was because soon the entire northern part of the Golden Triangle's civilian organization would be mobilized. They would definitely block the major roads to prevent the squad from escaping.
Song Heping had already considered this.
About fifteen kiloters north of ngdan Town lies the Nanlai River, a tributary of the kong River, inside Myanmar. And flowing southeast it joins the kong River about several dozen kiloters away.
The kong River's basin is vast. On the Myanmar side, the kong River actually serves as the border with Laos.
Once they entered the kong River, they could flow downstream into the dostic region.
It wasn't wise for the small squad to carry a high-profile hostage through the northern jungles back to their country.
Thus, Song Heping decided to split the group, drawing the civilian organization's gunfire towards himself and Grey Wolf, while Jing Wengui would board a cargo ship at the Nanlai River, heading downriver to enter the kong River, and then travel north back to their country.
This was the most prudent plan.
But this ant that their five-man squad would take on a huge risk. Even though the civilian organization had been rebellious in the region for years, and even if the small squad trekked through the jungles to their ho country, they would face many obstacles. More importantly, to attract the civilian organization's pursuit, they had to be proactive in launching attacks, intentionally exposing their whereabouts— the more thoroughly and obviously, the better. The more they did so, the more successful their plan would be.
Half an hour later, in a patch of woods by the Nanlai River.
The small truck drove into the woods and stopped.
Several team mbers quickly got out of the car.
Jing Wengui took out a GPS to verify their position, then ran to the riverbank, pulling out a night-vision binocular to look out over the river.
Soon, he spotted a cargo ship moored about a hundred ters upstream on the riverbank.
It was rare for a cargo ship to be moored at the riverside in the wilds of the Golden Triangle at night.
No need to ask, it was definitely the rendezvous vessel.
He hurriedly took out an infrared emitter and flashed it at the ship several tis on and off.
After about fifteen seconds, the cargo ship's bow also emitted a burst of red light, similarly flashing three tis.
The two sides had recognized each other's signals, and the cargo ship started moving toward them and soon docked at the riverbank.
Jing Wengui went forward to et them, while Song Heping and the others kept watch in the woods.
Shortly after, Jing Wengui ca back.
"It's our people."
"That's good," Song Heping said. "Hurry up and get everyone aboard."
After speaking, he turned and signaled to White Bear.
White Bear walked over to the truck, dragged Joyce out, and presented him to Jing Wengui.
"Goodbye!"
"Goodbye!"
The two did not exchange many words.
This was not the ti for idle chatter.
Once Jing Wengui and Joyce were on the ship, Song Heping then led his n back to the truck.
"Let's go, back to outside ngdan Town, we'll carry out a counter-sniping for those warlords."
