Now reading: Chapter 761 - 701: Chen's Suggestion from Mercenaries, I Will Be King, a Action novel by Yan Qi Guan.

"Don't ask, just rember, your old military unit has its eyes on you. Maybe there are things you don't know, but I do."

Chen spoke in a superior-like tone: "When you first erged in Illiguo, soone was already watching you. You know the old unit's rules: if you act in a way that endangers the country or tarnishes the unit's reputation, don't forget the promises you once made and the unit's rules."

Song Heping felt a rush of blood to his head, his back cold and drenched in sweat.

Back when the 203 old unit announced the rules on the first day of selection training, as soon as you entered the training, even if you didn't stay, you couldn't leak any classified information. Even after leaving the unit and returning to civilian life, you couldn't use what you learned to do evil.

The old unit would send soone to clean up any evildoers.

Everyone with a brain knows what 'cleaning up' ans.

Thinking about the past years, although he crossed the line and even entered the black zone at tis, he never did anything that endangered his country.

Luckily, or Captain Lei's people might have co for him...

"Chen, I haven't done anything..."

"I know, not only have you not done anything, but you've also helped Captain Lei's team with their missions, lending a hand. So you know why I haven't co to ask for that favor yet, right?"

Chen interrupted Song Heping, then changed the subject.

"Today's conversation is allowed. You're in a desperate situation now, I can help you, but don't go to Persia. You can be brothers with Avanti, but you must not stay in Persia."

Song Heping wanted to ask why.

But ultimately didn't.

Chen was clearly soone from Captain Lei's side, or at least connected to the holand.

So following his advice wasn't wrong.

Of course, Song Heping also considered the possibility that Chen might be an enemy.

But Chen had never actively sought him out. It was Song who approached him first.

That's one point.

Secondly, the assistance Chen provided earlier had indeed been beneficial.

The third point is that he dared to use Captain Lei's na, which ans there was a connection.

Otherwise, people who dared to parade around with the 203 code na wouldn't have a good end either.

"You can help now? Do you know what I need?"

"You need a place to go."

Chen was straightforward.

"Tell , where are you now?"

"I'm in southern Liben."

Song Heping hesitated and didn't explicitly state the location, being a bit vague out of caution.

"Can you move freely now?" Chen asked. "Are you badly injured? There's intelligence that you're wounded."

"Yes, wounded," Song Heping said. "But it's not serious, I'll recover in a week."

"Liben is no longer safe. Staying there with the Pearl Party isn't a long-term plan, unless you want to be a local guerrilla force with them." Chen said. "The world is big; you can go anywhere you want."

Song Heping said, "I'm a wanted man now. I can't go to North Arica, South Arica, or Asia. Going to Russia would an changing my identity and going into hiding."

"Go to Africa!"

Chen said, "I suggest Africa. Because Africa is the only place you can survive now. On the surface, you're a terrorist. Although our evidence proves otherwise, don't forget who controls the narrative. You need a place to establish your base and continue gathering leverage against the CIA. When the ti cos to settle, they'll give you what you want."

"Africa?" Song Heping had never thought of going to Africa.

But with Chen's suggestion,

it seed to make sense.

He had been there before, delivering weapons to the US Army in the Sahel Region.

The situation there could be sumd up in one word—chaos!

"Yes, Africa is the best place for you to survive," Chen said. "A legitimate governnt won't allow soone like you to exist within its borders, unless they don't care about their international standing. But Africa is different; it's a place forgotten by God. Many countries don't even have legitimate governnts, no one will care who you are. As long as you can help them, they'll accept you."

"Sounds reasonable..."

Song Heping contemplated.

There's a lot of business to be done in Africa.

Arms, gold, diamonds, energy.

Sounded promising.

"But I don't know anyone in Africa; finding a place to stay would be difficult."

"Once you reach Africa, I'll et with you and we'll discuss further. You won't stay in Africa for long, maybe two years, three years, at most five years. You'll definitely clean your identity by then."

Chen's words were confident.

Song Heping was puzzled: "How can you be so sure?"

Chen silenced him with one sentence: "Don't doubt the expertise of professionals. You're good at fighting wars; I'm good at intelligence and analysis."

Song Heping was speechless.

"But I can't leave now. My intelligence team tells that Mossad has blocked the diterranean, especially the ships leaving from the south. Not a single one can escape their search."

"That is indeed a headache," Chen laughed. "The Daishe Bird country is indeed ruthless. You've killed so many of their people, they will hunt you to the ends of the earth. But, well done!"

"Don't complint , just help get out. Avanti has already spoken to ; he's planning my escape back to Persia. If he arranges my escape route, I won't be able to avoid going back to Persia."

"Forget it! Don't go back!"

Chen's tone was slightly disdainful.

"Avanti has nothing but his own interests."

"What do you an?"

"No aning, don't ask."

Chen quickly returned to the topic of evacuation.

"You take care of your body first. In a week, I'll contact you, trust , I'll make the arrangents."

"Okay!"

Chen's words carried an unquestionable authority that was very convincing.

Accepting the arrangents of soone from his holand was better than going to Russia or Persia.

He originally didn't want to be under soone else's roof.

Going to Africa?

Seems promising!

The Aricans are now competing with the French and British in the Sahel Region, and local forces in Africa are also rising. It's a chaotic stew.

Finding a way to survive there doesn't seem so difficult.

After the call ended, Song Heping felt relieved.

Back in the tunnel, Jiang Feng had just brought food, and Song Heping devoured a large plate.

"Old squad leader, I see many Pearl Party mbers gathering here tonight, looks like sothing's going to happen."

"Sothing?"

"Seems like a military operation."

"Ah..."

Song Heping imdiately thought of the Daishe Bird.

The Pearl Party often harassed the Daishe Bird at the borders.

The two sides avoided direct confrontation with the Peacekeeping Forces, employing all kinds of tactics.

After decades, they remained old foes.

"We're not getting involved," Song Heping said. "I'll recover first, and we'll leave in a week."

"Leave?" Jiang Feng was surprised. "Avanti has arranged it?"

"Not him. Don't ask who," Song Heping said. "We'll sneak out quietly. Don't let the Pearl Party know our real plans."

He had already made up his mind.

The Pearl Party had deep ties with Avanti.

Avanti had been funding the Pearl Party's ard forces for years.

And Avanti wanted him to return to Persia.

If he had other plans, the Pearl Party would probably turn on him first.

Sotis, the line between enemies and friends is blurred.

Positions and interests often decide these boundaries.

Even dealing with soone like Avanti, you have to be cautious.

Aside from his old unit, Song Heping wouldn't trust anyone else.
