After a deliberately complicated process, Polovich was brought to Gao Yang’s safehouse. It had been less than two days since Yake’s street showdown, which was quite fast.

Remote detonation was chosen as the primary thod because the enemy might not necessarily co, but Gao Yang’s team had to walk daily. Setting the mines to tripwire or pressure detonation would only cause them trouble. Gao Yang left Polovich’s room, walked to the end of the corridor, and upon finding Jansen lying outside, whispered, "Any abnormalities?"

Jansen shook his head and whispered back, "Nothing unusual, no cars following, and no one nearby."

Gao Yang nodded, saying, "Stay cautious, don’t let your guard down, and at least keep one drone in the air."

After instructing Jansen, Gao Yang turned back and saw Pavlovich, whispering, "Have your n settled in?"

Pavlovich had the Black Demons stationed in the outer houses of the safehouse, while Satan’s n covered the inner ones, surrounding Polovich’s room. Gao Yang’s room was right across from Polovich’s.

Whether soone wanted to kill Polovich or Polovich had intentions himself, they’d have to get past Gao Yang.

Pavlovich had his own room and gestured to several monitors in front of him, saying, "Remote detonation of the directional mines isn’t fully reliable; soone needs to be ready to manually trigger those mines."

The directional mines were managed by two people: one from the Black Demon squad and Rafael, who preferred remote detonation, though the Black Demon personnel found this thod unreliable from top to bottom.

The simpler, the more reliable. Gao Yang understood this too, but he was too short-staffed to assign people to manually trigger the mines with pull cords.

Gao Yang looked at the screens in front of Pavlovich and said helplessly, "There’s no other way, it’s got to be remote detonation. We just changed the batteries today; it should be fine."

Pavlovich shook his head, "I don’t trust these high-tech gadgets, especially Russian-made electronics. They’re always unreliable. I’ve decided to have people stationed specifically for these mines. You don’t need to worry, we’ll handle it."

Gao Yang nodded, then asked, "Do you want to wear a bulletproof vest? The heavy type, even if worn, provides extra protection."

Pavlovich thought for a mont and then shook his head, "No, wearing one hinders movent too much, and it’s not like you can predict when the enemy will co."

Gao Yang chuckled wryly, "Of course I don’t know, I just thought since Polovich is here, we should be ready for battle. Though I don’t know when the enemy will co, wearing a bulletproof vest all the ti won’t be a problem."

Pavlovich laughed, "No thanks, it’s already tiring enough. Besides, the Black Demons aren’t fighters in bulletproof vests; we’re daggers, not shields."

Gao Yang shrugged, "Suit yourself, I’ll just go back to my room and put on my bulletproof vest. I just feel it’s safer with an extra layer of protection."

Back in his room, Gao Yang donned his bulletproof vest and placed the ballistic panels in them. He picked up his shotgun and placed the shells in the most accessible position.

Wearing a bulletproof vest all the ti is stupid, but undoubtedly the safest way. Gao Yang is cautious, preferring to wear the vest weighing over ten kilograms while moving around daily.

Having put on his bulletproof vest, Gao Yang was ready to continue discussing matters with Polovich when Jas rushed out of his room. Seeing Gao Yang in the doorway, he exclaid with joy, "My daughter’s surgery is over, very successful, extrely successful!"

Gao Yang smiled, then pressed the transmission button on his walkie-talkie and loudly announced, "Jas’ daughter’s surgery was very successful."

After speaking, Gao Yang curiously patted the walkie-talkie at his waist and poked the earpiece, puzzled, "No response? Did I not turn on the walkie-talkie?"

It’s impossible for Gao Yang not to have the walkie-talkie on, so sothing must be wrong. After he finished speaking, Gao Yang and Jas exchanged glances and simultaneously said, "It’s electromagnetic interference!"
