Chapter 1702: Chapter 1681: Just How Ruthless Are You?

The thought that the Black Demon might be reassembled, even if it’s just a small team of a few people, made Gao Yang feel invigorated.

The Black Demon is like a peerless sword, sheathed at its sharpest mont. Then, this sword was stored away, left to rust in a muddy swamp, waiting for the rust to eat it away.

Gao Yang had no special feelings towards the Soviet Union—neither fondness nor aversion—it was just a term to him. But the Black Demon was different. Whether you call it heroes cherishing heroes or objects resonating with their kind, Gao Yang did not want to see this legendary na swept into the dustbin of history.

With Pavlovich’s words on his mind, Gao Yang hurriedly walked outside after leaving Pavlovich’s room. He wanted to arrange for soone to handle this matter imdiately. But just as he stepped out of Pavlovich’s room, he found Albert waiting outside.

Albert pointed towards a door and said in a low voice, “Polovich is awake. He wants to talk to you.”

Gao Yang nodded and pushed open the door.

Polovich lay in bed with a white sheet covering his chest and his eyes closed. When Gao Yang pushed the door open, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at Gao Yang, whispering, “You’re here.”

Gao Yang nodded, sat beside Polovich, and said with a smile, “I heard you were still sleeping, so I planned to co later. You look good now.”

Polovich sighed softly, looking helpless, and said, “I didn’t expect things to turn out like this. Gao, has it been terrible for you lately?”

Gao Yang chuckled, “It’s been rather bad, but not terribly so. All in all, I’ve managed pretty well, so you can rest assured, at least for now, our safety isn’t a problem.”

Polovich said softly, “I think Grand Ivan is already dead, dead in so unknown corner. I’ve always suspected Grand Ivan went to South Arica, Arica’s backyard. But once you’re hidden in the jungle, no one can find you, not even the Aricans. Moreover, Grand Ivan had many connections in South Arica to help him hide. But you know, Grand Ivan’s health was poor, he always had heart problems.”

Gao Yang was silent for a mont, then said in a low voice, “It’s a bit premature to discuss this now.”

Polovich sighed softly, “It’s not too early to prepare for the future. Gao, Grand Ivan can’t show up, but Ivan and Uriyangko should co out to manage the situation. But they haven’t. If the Aricans had acted, it would an they’ve fallen into Arican hands. But that’s not the case; the Aricans are still looking for them. So I think Grand Ivan might have died with Ivan and the others in so South Arican jungle.”

After a brief silence, Polovich said quietly, “South Arica is a good place to hide, but the climate is too harsh there, and it’s too chaotic. A sudden inexplicable battle might have taken their lives.”

Gao Yang sighed and said in a low voice, “But there’s no solid evidence. It’s really too early to say anything.”

Polovich took a deep breath and said in a heavy voice, “Europe is already in your hands. When do you plan to take over Asia? I’m not familiar with South Arica; it’s always been Ivan’s territory. Africa isn’t unfamiliar to because I’ve worked there for so ti. I don’t hold much sway there, but I can try to help you. As for Asia, I am very familiar with it. I know those who stayed behind to work for Grand Ivan. With to help, you can quickly and smoothly take over Asia.”

Polovich slightly turned his head to look at Gao Yang with a solemn expression, “Even without South Arica and Africa, you could beco one of the world’s largest arms dealers.”

Gao Yang smiled and shook his head, saying in a low voice, “Honestly, I’m not interested in becoming an arms dealer, Polovich. It’s too early to talk about this. Who knows, maybe tomorrow or the day after, Grand Ivan might suddenly reappear. No one can say for sure.”

Polovich looked at Gao Yang and said quietly, “You need to hurry. You can’t keep delaying. The longer you wait, the harder so things beco.”

Gao Yang smiled and said, “Did you know? I’m indeed doing so arms dealings now. I don’t know how to handle so things, but you’re an expert. You must know. Right now, there’s a big deal. I don’t know how to set the price, so I haven’t made an offer yet. I’d like your input.”

Polovich said in a low voice, “A big deal? How big, and with whom?”

As Gao Yang slowly disclosed the order from the Cleaner, Polovich listened with increasing surprise, until he couldn’t help but interrupt Gao Yang, “What kind of deal is this? This deal is too strange. Who would need this? A production line? Is soone trying to establish a national ard force in Africa? But buying a production line to manufacture guns and ammo in Africa? Forget it, it’s cheaper and of better quality just to purchase them. Let tell you, in Africa, they’ll never get qualified products by manufacturing them themselves.”

Gao Yang laughed, “Never mind how strange this deal is. I want to know how much I should quote for it; it must be reasonable. Just because we’re the only supplier doesn’t an we can ask for an exorbitant price. Let’s say, it’s a highly complex comprehensive cooperation.”

Polovich closed his eyes, pondering for a mont, then said quietly, “Fifteen to twenty billion US Dollars is a reasonable price. This deal is really only sothing Grand Ivan can handle. Those old-style armored cars and artillery are indeed not worth much, but assembling such a large volu is very difficult. Active duty equipnt becos cheaper as supply increases, but the opposite is true for retired old equipnt because it’s too hard to find. Plus, the production line; there are very few operational lines for old equipnt. Then there’s transportation; transporting that much cargo is a challenge. And the issue gets tricky with ti constraints because this is a monopoly sale. Considering the difficulties and costs of transportation, I think quoting thirty billion US Dollars is a very conservative number, because the profit might not even reach ten billion. For this deal, even if you quote fifty billion, it’s not excessive. With such a large quantity, there will definitely be losses in transit, and any seized cargo will require additional investnt from you to cover. So, asking for more isn’t unreasonable.”

Gao Yang smacked his lips and said in a low voice, “The costs? How much do you estimate them to be?”

Polovich said quietly, “Regarding the equipnt itself, about 200 million dollars. Transportation costs can range from two to ten billion, which is highly variable and unpredictable due to tight deadlines. Overall, I think the total cost can be kept under one billion dollars.”

Gao Yang extended several fingers and smiled, “Ten billion in costs, asking for thirty billion, making a pure profit of twenty billion, and you still think the profit is low? Oh, my friend, just how ruthless are you?”
