The Wolf King didn’t approach. Instead, it crouched in a position further back, watching them. Seeing the attackers charge toward the Wolf King, the wind wolves intensified their vicious encirclent.
Xiao Junheng was already wounded, and with the other two also injured, their combined strength proved no match for the onslaught of nearly twenty vicious wolves. Before long, their wounds deepened, and their clothes were soaked in blood.
Yue’er watched, her gaze fixed on the Wolf King. She tossed aside the branch in her hand, her small form leaping lightly through the trees toward the Wolf King.
Dagger in hand, she prepared to strike the Wolf King. But the beast seed to sense her presence, lifting its head to give her a cold, dismissive glance. Its jaws opened in a low, threatening growl, sharp fangs glistening as saliva dripped toward Yue’er.
Just as Yue’er prepared to pounce downward, she suddenly sensed a sharp, whistling blade streaking toward her from the distance. She halted her movent abruptly and turned toward the sound.
A cold gleam streaked through the air. Upon closer inspection, it was an arrow carrying a fierce aura, shot with blinding speed and precision, aid squarely at the Wolf King.
The Wolf King’s fur bristled instantly at the perceived danger. It leaped violently, lunging toward the small figure crouched in the tree.
Its dual purpose was to evade the incoming arrow and to devour this human child radiating pure Spirit Energy!
“Watch out!”
Xiao Junheng, surrounded by several wind wolves, saw the Wolf King lunge at the little girl. His expression changed instantly, and he cried out in alarm.
However, though he desperately wanted to save her, he couldn’t spare the ti or the hands.
Unexpectedly, at that very mont, he saw the little girl swing the dagger in her hand, striking toward the Wolf King. The blade sliced through the air with such sharpness that he couldn’t help but freeze in surprise.
The Wolf King lunged forward, only to see the cold gleam of the dagger approaching. He dodged instantly, leaping onto a nearby branch. Then, thrusting off with his hind legs, he charged once more at his targeted prey.
Perched awkwardly in the tree, Yue’er watched the Wolf King lunge toward her again. “Want to eat ?” she huffed indignantly. “I’ll knock your teeth right out!”
In that instant, she shifted her stance. As the Wolf King charged, she stepped back, appearing to lose her footing and fall—but it was a deliberate maneuver to evade, planning to land and fight again.
Yet as she leapt from the tree, an unfamiliar scent suddenly assailed her. Almost instinctively, she swung the dagger in her hand toward the source of the scent. Unexpectedly, a voice she recognized, though not entirely unfamiliar, reached her ears.
“It’s .”
Xiao Junyan’s icy expression darkened slightly. Seeing this chubby child who had slipped away from under his watch now encountering wolves here, and wielding a dagger toward him, the frigid aura radiating from him was utterly chilling.
