Capítulo 5024: Greets
Feng Jiu listened as Hao’er spoke, and soon Yue’er chid in with a few remarks. Muchen, standing nearby, also joined the conversation. After hearing the three children recount the amusing incidents and their journey ho, she nodded approvingly and praised, “You did very well.”
Hearing their Mother’s words of praise, the three children exchanged glances and smiled in unison.
A maid arrived carrying breakfast, but upon seeing the barrier around the courtyard, she did not enter. Instead, she waited at the courtyard gate.
Feng Jiu noticed this. After exchanging a few words with the children, she removed the barrier and allowed the maid to bring the food inside.
“You must be hungry after returning so early. Eat quickly! Afterwards, those who feel sleepy can go back to their rooms for a nap.” ” Feng Jiu instructed them.
“Yeah.” The three replied, joining her for breakfast.
After breakfast, Feng Jiu accompanied the children on a stroll around the courtyard to aid digestion. She then sent them back to their rooms for a nap, planning to take them out for an outing at noon.
The mont the children heard she would take them out to play, they imdiately agreed and returned to their rooms to sleep.
Not long after the children went to their rooms, Song Mi’er arrived. Upon entering the courtyard and seeing only Feng Jiu there, she approached and called out, “Master, where are the three of them?”
“I sent them to sleep for a while to catch up on rest. I’ll take them out to play at noon,” Feng Jiu said with a smile, sitting by the table sipping tea.
“Then I’ll take you out at noon. I know this city well.” Mi’er added, “Master, I visited my Mother and learned about the family situation. I truly thank you for this. My father and mother are waiting behind. They said they’d co personally to thank you. Oh, and my father kept asking about your identity, but I didn’t say anything.”
Hearing this, Feng Jiu smiled and said, “Originally, I planned to return to the island once you ca back. But now that your family has this trouble—and it’s likely because of —I can’t leave until the Cheng family matter is resolved. So we’ll stay here for now. Once that’s settled, we can depart.”
Song Mi’er paused, then asked, “But wouldn’t the Cheng family dare retaliate?” Didn’t they say that our Master had crippled the cultivation levels of their four powerful elders? If the head of the Cheng family knows this, he probably won’t co looking for revenge, right?
After all, whoever could cripple the cultivation of those four must be quite powerful. The Cheng family wouldn’t risk provoking soone like that again.
Feng Jiu chuckled softly, twirling her teacup as she replied, “You don’t understand. So people—even when you choose to spare them—still insist on walking down a path to their own destruction. What will the Cheng family do? I don’t know. But I believe we’ll find out soon enough.”
Hearing this, Song Mi’er said no more, for she spotted her parents approaching. “Master, my parents and three brothers have arrived.” With that, she walked towards them.
From the mont he entered the courtyard, Song Lingbo had been observing the green-clad woman seated there sipping tea. Her simple, elegant attire and unremarkable features made her seem almost forgettable. Yet, as she sat there, an air of unshakable composure emanated from her, commanding an inexplicable respect.
With his keen eye for judging people, he instantly recognized her as a formidable figure concealing profound strength.
He stepped forward, clasped his hands, and said, “Song Lingbo greets Lady Xuanyuan.”
