It resembled an ice cellar, entirely white within, with frigid air pouring out so intensely that she could feel the bone-chilling cold even standing by the stone door.
The intense cold had crystallized the surrounding air into a blanket of snow-white ice. In one corner, upon an ice bed that seed carved from the heavens themselves, Xuanyuan Mo Ze lay clad in black robes, appearing as though in deep slumber.
Spotting him, she strode inside, approaching the ice bed and calling out, "Mo Ze!"
Her voice echoed unanswered. There was no sign of the Firmant Monarch within.
She gazed at Mo Ze, now lying on the icy bed. It had been years since she’d seen him up close. This ti, she hadn’t even had the chance to visit him at the ocean depths before he was brought here.
She reached out to gently stroke his face. Feeling the solidity of his immortal body and the steadiness of his aura, the worry in her heart finally eased.
"As long as you’re alright," she murmured softly, exhaling a small sigh of relief before a faint smile touched her lips. "Mo Ze, I’m back. Do you know that?"
She clasped his hand, feeling its icy chill, then glanced around at the surrounding frozen landscape. "This place must be a spiritual vein. The Spirit Energy here is exceptionally abundant, and it carries a cold, icy essence. This energy actually complents you. Compared to the depths of the East Sea Spirit Domain, the energy here is far more suitable for your divine soul."
She stepped back slightly, watching him as he slept. "I’ll give you a hand," she said. "I’ll channel this icy cold energy and the spiritual vein’s essence into your body."
As she spoke, her hands gathered energy, channeling the spirit energy and frigid aura toward him.
With Feng Jiu’s aid, a steady stream of spirit energy and icy qi flowed into his body, swiftly absorbed and transford into vital energy within him.
As the spirit energy and frigid aura surged into Mo Ze, the air’s spirit energy gradually weakened. The surrounding frozen landscape began to thaw, with droplets of lted ice and snow silently falling to the ground.
By the end of the night, the entire frozen landscape had vanished, revealing the stone walls hidden beneath the ice. The underground palace now resembled a parched, dry well, utterly devoid of any spirit energy.
Feng Jiu withdrew her hand, exhaled softly, and glanced at the damp surroundings before preparing to lead Mo Ze away. Just then, she faintly heard Du Fan’s call.
"Master!"
"Master!"
Du Fan entered the palace hall, where corpses littered the floor everywhere, their deaths horribly grueso. The entire hall was deathly quiet, devoid of any living soul except for the dead strewn across the floor.
Seeing this scene, he knew his Master had been here, but whether he was still present remained unknown. Just as he prepared to scan the area with his divine sense, his Master’s voice reached him.
"I’m in the underground palace beneath the main hall. Co here!"
Hearing the voice, he hurried toward the main palace. Finding his way inside, he entered the underground chamber only to see, besides his master, what appeared to be Hell’s Lord present as well. Instantly quickening his pace, he rushed forward, asking as he approached, "Master, how is Hell’s Lord?"
