That day, as Feng Jiu and the others stepped out the main gate, the Black Tortoise Monarch, who had been waiting outside for several days, quickly approached.

Seeing him still there, Feng Jiu halted and instructed her companions, "Proceed to the inn first. I’ll join you shortly." After they departed, she turned to the Black Tortoise Monarch and inquired, "Is there sothing you need?"
"I wish to see Hao’er. But... these past years, I’ve had no word of him. So... so..." He glanced at Feng Jiu hesitantly.
"Have you so quickly forgotten the promise made when I took Hao’er from you?" Her gaze fixed on him, her voice tinged with detachnt. "From this day forward, you have no right to inquire about or concern yourselves with Hao’er. Moreover, he is not with now. Years ago, I sent him away to seek a master, along with my other two children. Not only can you not see him, but even I cannot see him if I wished."
Hearing this, the Black Tortoise Monarch paused, then asked, "Who might be Hao’er’s master?"
Feng Jiu’s lips curved into a smile as her gaze fixed on him. "I will not tell you who his master is. For the children’s safety, their whereabouts remain confidential."
She began walking forward, pausing briefly as she passed him. "You mustn’t co here again," she added. "And don’t inquire about him. When he cos of age, if he chooses to acknowledge you, I won’t stand in his way. But for now, I won’t allow you to disturb his peace or hinder his cultivation."
With that, she said no more. She climbed into the carriage and headed toward the inn.
Listening, the Black Tortoise Monarch stood there, lost in thought, his mind on who knows what. After a long while, he sighed deeply and turned to leave.
At the inn, Feng Jiu had co out to et with Wanyan Qianhua and the others today, as they had requested. This marked her first outing since returning to the city.
In recent days, with Qi Kang and others handling affairs, the situation had gradually stabilized. In regions without rulers, they had even promoted capable individuals to govern those areas, following Feng Jiu’s orders.
As for the Heavenly Pill Tower, which had been destroyed, Qi Kang and the others initially wanted to rebuild it. However, Feng Jiu deed it unnecessary.
Entering the inn, they took seats by the window on the second floor. Feng Jiu gazed toward the city gates and smiled, "From here we can see the gates clearly. If Feng Ye and the others arrive, we’ll spot them from this vantage point."

"Oh, and I got married just before the New Year," Song Ming said with a laugh.
"Oh? Then I suppose I’ll have to make up for the missed gift?" Feng Jiu chuckled. "I’m genuinely curious what kind of woman you’d choose."
