Yue’er carried the food box into the courtyard. Glancing around, she didn’t see her master anywhere, so she called out, "Master?"
The door opened, and the Azure Emperor erged slowly, seemingly having just woken up not long ago, still carrying a lazy, weary aura. He glanced at Yun Qi, then walked leisurely to the stone table in the courtyard and sat down.
"Why are you here?"
Once they arrived here, his three disciples flitted about like freed birds, delightedly exploring every corner. If not for their daily visits to pay their respects, he might have begun to believe he had co to Immortal Island alone, rather than with his three apprentices.
Yue’er approached with a food box, her eyes crinkling in a smile. "Master, I saw you didn’t eat much last night—just drank wine—so I brought you breakfast."
As she spoke, she opened the box and lifted out the wontons. "Master, these wontons are delicious! Mi’er made them, fresh off the stove. Try one~"
The Azure Emperor glanced at her, observing her buzzing around him like a little bee, attentive and eager. He took a small bowl from the box, scooped so into it with a spoon, and held it before him.
"Master, try so. They’re so delicious," Yue’er said, leaning close with a smile, watching him intently.
Only then did the Azure Emperor begin eating, his movents elegant and noble, as if he were savoring so rare delicacy rather than a simple bowl of wontons.
Yun Qi watched from the side. Seeing him finish the bowl, she quickly scooped a few more wontons into it, saying, " Master, you really shouldn’t skip breakfast. Even though you’ve long since given up regular food, these are all spiritual delicacies. Eating them is good for your health! And they’re delicious too."
"Master, how about I take charge of bringing you breakfast from now on? Eating should be a habit. You can’t skip als like this... it’s not good..."
The Azure Emperor quietly ate his wontons, listening to her chatter. When he heard those words, his hand paused slightly, and his expression flickered with a montary distraction. He lowered his eyes and continued eating without speaking.
This mont ca and went swiftly, so fleeting that even Yun Qi, who had been chattering beside him, didn’t notice his brief oddity.
Yue’er propped her chin on her hand and said, "Master, I’m still so young, yet those great emperors already want to arrange marriages between their young heirs and . Thankfully, my Father and Mother said they won’t arrange marriages for us three siblings unless we agree ourselves. Master, why do those great emperors always think of using their young heirs for alliances? Their young family mbers must feel so pitiful."
The Azure Emperor finished all the wontons in his bowl before setting down his spoon. Wiping the corners of his mouth, he spoke slowly, "Given your parents’ current stature, all three of you were already being watched even before you appeared. If they can achieve their goals through marriage alliances, naturally they won’t pass up such an opportunity."
Yue’er listened and replied, "That’s why both Big Brother and Brother said it’s best to stay on Yunxiao Mountain. That way, no one knows our identities, and no one will set their sights on us."
"Who says being my disciples ans no one will target you?" The Azure Emperor shot her a glance. "Do you have any idea how many are secretly investigating your origins?"
"Hehe, but we know Master is incredibly powerful. They’ll never find anything~," Yue’er said with a beaming smile, slipping in a bit of flattery.
