“How did you get here?” she asked, glancing at him before scanning the surroundings. “Did you notice anything unusual about this place?”
“I found my way here just before dawn. When I arrived, you were the only one here.”
His voice trailed off as he continued, “Strangely enough, when I entered this place, I seed to be enveloped in a thick, white mist. I walked for a long ti before breaking through it. Around midnight last night, it felt like a chilling wind stirred in this area, but by the ti I ca to investigate, it had vanished without a trace.”
Hearing this, Yue’er’s eyes flickered slightly, her gaze drifting off as if lost in thought.
Noticing her dazed expression, Xiao Junyan said, “Don’t worry. I’ll protect you. I won’t let you face any danger.”
Yue’er lifted her head to et his gaze, a faint smile touching her lips. “Mhm, I’m fine.” She gathered her thoughts before continuing, “Big Brother Xiao, this place feels unusual. It seems more dangerous than any other place I’ve been before.”
Xiao Junyan nodded. “This place was discovered not long ago, and no one has ventured in yet. The dangers here are unknown. Although several families have sent quite a few people in, I doubt they’ll last even half a month inside.”
“Let’s go! We’ll check ahead.” Xiao Junyan gestured, leading her forward together.
