Hearing this, Patriarch Chen’s expression grew grave. After all, the twenty sent inside had been carefully selected by the clan. Though not as skilled as the main family’s mbers, they were certainly no weaklings. Yet now they claid that had they not shattered their teleportation jade, they likely would have perished within.
This weighed heavily on his heart. If the secret realm was truly that perilous, he feared it would beco difficult for his clan to send anyone in again. After a mont’s thought, he asked, "What did you encounter inside? Tell ."
"We were actually separated when we entered. A chilling aura perated the air, and white mist obscured our vision. I was walking along when suddenly I sank into the ground. My feet felt as if they were being pulled deep into the earth—not like a swamp, but far more terrifying. Sothing beneath seed to be tugging at my legs. The more I struggled, the deeper I sank. In the end, I had no choice but to crush the teleportation jade to escape." A man recounted as he shuddered.
"I was swallowed by a bizarre banana plant. It wrapped itself around , trapping inside, and it seed intent on devouring . So I had no choice but to..."
As the Chen family mber spoke, others from the other clans asked questions.
"Where I was, the trees had all beco spirits. They ford an array, trapping within a forest of branches that lashed at like whips. Every wound on my body was inflicted by those tree spirits. I tried burning them with fire, but one of the tree spirits opened its mouth and bit down on my arm, tearing it clean off."
A pale, barely breathing man spoke, supported by two guards. Even back in his clan’s territory, terror and horror still filled his eyes.
"That’s right. Those possessed trees—I couldn’t even cut through them with my sword."
Another man swallowed hard, took a deep breath, and added, "I entered a forest just like that. When I tried to cut through them with my sword, there was a faint tallic ringing sound. This place is too unnerving. I truly fear that if those of us who went in couldn’t crush the teleportation jade token and leave imdiately, we’d all die inside."
Listening to their words, the Patriarch of the Xiao family wore a grave expression. Just as he was about to ask more, a guard hurriedly reported: "Patriarch, more people have erged from the teleportation array."
Seeing this, he imdiately quickened his pace to investigate. Arriving at the teleportation array, he saw several people covered in wounds. His voice was solemn as he asked, "How are you? Are you all all right?"
"Patriarch, they’re dead... Xiao Feng and Xiao Wen are dead..." a middle-aged man said, his expression filled with grief.
"Gah! How could this happen!" The Patriarch Xiao staggered back a step, his face etched with disbelief.
"Patriarch, this secret realm is too treacherous. Even with our strength, survival inside was nearly impossible," another man said gravely, looking at Patriarch Xiao. "My greatest concern now is the Young Master. We didn’t encounter him inside and have no idea his situation. If anything happened to him, I fear the main family..."
Hearing this, the Patriarch Xiao’s heart lurched. He imdiately commanded, "Soone! Go imdiately and summon the other family Patriarchs to discuss this!"
Because other families had also received injured mbers returning throughout the day, and so even brought back news of family mbers lost within the realm, upon hearing the Xiao family had sent for them to gather at the residence for consultation, they promptly went.
