Actually, given the terrible, violent temper of Genetically Enhanced Humans, how could they possibly not attack and instead ask questions like this? If it were in the past, they would have beaten Zhang Bin half to death or crippled his Cultivation Level before interrogating him. The cause of this, of course, was the magical Fate-Stealing Charm. It had stolen their luck and bestowed it upon Zhang Bin. Thus, they were influenced by a mysterious, unseen rule that changed their usual way of doing things.
Zhang Bin feigned great fear and panic, speaking in fluent and perfect English. "I'm an Arican, passionate about treasure hunting. I accidentally discovered an underground passage here and ca in to have a look. Who are you people? Why are you here? We Aricans are not so easy to bully. This is Arican land, and any treasures on this land belong to us. You'd better leave imdiately."
"PFFT…"
Jack and the others were amused. This guy was fabricating tales out of thin air, not even blinking as he lied.
However, they were certain this person was indeed Arican. His English was exceptionally fluent and perfect—even better than their own. Arica is a peculiar country that integrates all ethnicities, so a person of Asian descent was nothing out of the ordinary. And since Zhang Bin was an Arican, they couldn't just kill him indiscriminately. He was a talent, too. Although he wasn't very strong, he seed to possess a magical Wall-Piercing Ability, and Superpower Users with such an ability were extrely rare.
Therefore, although Jack was annoyed by Zhang Bin spouting nonsense, he didn't attack. Instead, he frowned and asked, "Do you have the Wall-Piercing Ability?"
"Yes, indeed. It's because of my Wall-Piercing Ability that I'm so good at treasure hunting," Zhang Bin said, putting on a silly, smug look. "Heh heh, I've found quite a few incredible treasures. And this ti, I've found a huge one."
This wasn't foolish at all; it was a move of extre intelligence. He was throwing out a huge piece of bait: treasures. The Genetically Enhanced Humans would naturally be envious and would be determined to get the location of the treasures from him, as they wouldn't believe he could carry everything in a Space Ring.
In fact, Superpower Users with the ability to pass through walls were indeed masters of treasure hunting, and they all possessed vast wealth. When they went tomb robbing, for instance, they didn't need to dig tunnels; they could simply walk through the walls to get inside and easily take away all the treasures. In modern tis, ancient tombs are sotis discovered with no signs of being robbed, yet they contain no treasures—only a few worthless objects. That's because they were visited by Tomb Robbers with the Wall-Piercing Ability. Such individuals were the top of their field, the absolute elite of treasure hunters.
Jack and his team were powerful mbers of the Arican CIAS Troops, so they naturally knew many secrets. They were well aware that treasure hunters like Zhang Bin, who possessed Special Abilities, existed in the world.
"Are you a tomb robbing expert?" Ava asked, looking at Zhang Bin with an interested, expectant expression.
"I'm just good at treasure hunting," Zhang Bin replied. "But I have been to many ancient countries, like China and India... I've entered so ancient underground tombs with long histories and obtained so very precious and magical treasures. You're so beautiful, I really like you. By the way, do you have a boyfriend?"
All the Genetically Enhanced Humans listened, dumbfounded. The guy had completely veered off topic. Was he a fool or a madman? How dare he flirt with Ava? Didn't he know she was an SSS-level Genetically Enhanced Human of unimaginable power?
"Kid," Ava snickered, "you've got so nerve. Now, spill it. Why did you kill Edward Buck and the others? They were so of Arica's finest and had made great contributions to our country. What gave you the right to kill them?"
Huh... These Genetically Enhanced Humans don't seem as terrifying as the legends say. They don't have that fad ferocity. Is this because of my Fate-Stealing Talisman, or do they lack the flaws Gao Si ntioned? Could it be that this Underground Biological Base actually has technology that can rapidly enhance a person's spiritual power before the Genetic Enhancent? Zhang Bin wondered. Outwardly, he feigned a look of astonishnt and asked in shock, "Ma'am, what did you say? Edward? Buck? They've been killed?"
"Shut up, kid! We saw your footprints in the corridor; you're the one who entered the passage from Golden Sands Hospital. Don't you dare try to argue, or I'll kill you on the spot!" Sandra snapped, growing impatient. Her eyes shot out an icy Light, and her body radiated a sharp killing intent.
Jack's eyes grew even redder and bluer. Even Ava, who seed the most good-natured, had a face that turned icy cold. The other Genetically Enhanced Humans also began to emit a dense killing aura. It seed they were about to make their move.
Zhang Bin hesitated for a mont, then spoke earnestly. "Alright, I'll confess. I have a grudge against Edward, and against the Hell Organization..."
He finished the thought silently. Goodbye. If he had spoken that last word aloud, he might not have escaped, even with Tutu opening the door.
The Genetically Enhanced Humans all ca to a sudden realization. So he's an enemy of Edward's... They would have never dread he could escape under these circumstances, so they weren't worried and didn't make a move right away.
But then their eyes widened in unison, their faces filled with anger and shock.
The doors behind Zhang Bin suddenly slid open with impressive speed, and he stepped backward through the opening. What was even more unbelievable was that the two doors slid rapidly shut again, closing with a loud BANG.
"How is this possible?"
All the Genetically Enhanced Humans were completely dumbfounded, shaken to the core. They knew perfectly well that this was the Biotech Base. In the past, it had taken Arica a long ti just to find this underground facility and gain entrance. Since when was getting inside so easy? Do the doors just open automatically now?
"He dared to mock us? The nerve!" Jack, being clever, finally realized Zhang Bin had been toying with them the entire ti. The man could have easily entered the base without fearing their pursuit, yet he had stalled and bantered with them for so long.
It was a blatant humiliation.
They were supposed to be the strongest Genetically Enhanced Humans at the peak of the world. When had anyone ever toyed with them like this?
"Break it!" Jack roared in fury. He charged forward like a bolt of lightning and slamd his palm against the door.
