When they reached the doorstep, Lilith took out the key hanging around her neck and opened the door. Looking into the pitch-black house, Lilith wasn't in a hurry to enter.

She turned back, made sure Loren was beside her, then cautiously reached her hand inside to flip the switch by the door. Only after the lights in the room ca on did she let out a sigh of relief.

"Please wait a mont, I need to find sothing."

Lilith dove into her wardrobe, rummaged around for a good while, and finally pulled out a tal biscuit tin.

The corner of Loren's mouth twitched. Even in this world, there was this habit of storing things in biscuit tins.

Lilith sat on the bed, placed the biscuit tin between her and Loren, and opened it. Loren could see the contents inside. It was mostly miscellaneous items—coins, needles and thread, and everything in between.

After digging around for a bit, Lilith pulled out a key and placed it in Loren's hand.

"This is the key to my ho. My ho will always welco you."

After giving Loren the key, Lilith imdiately jumped off the bed without pause and started rummaging through the cabinet again. She eventually pulled out a worn-out umbrella.

The umbrella was quite flashy, Gothic in style, but it had several holes in it. Clearly, it could no longer be used normally. However, Lilith had taken good care of it; it could still open properly to this day.

"This is my favorite umbrella. I'm giving it to you now."

As soon as the umbrella was placed in Loren's hands, Lilith stepped onto a stool and started searching through the bookshelf. She pulled out a few fairy tale books. Loren recognized one of them as the book that had the World Card tucked inside.

"These are the most interesting fairy tales I've ever read. Since you like stories too, you'll definitely like these."

Loren examined them. The books were all covered in protective jackets, with no bent pages at all, but they were slightly weathered. If handled with even a bit too much force, they might crumble.

On the side of the fairy tale books, Lilith's na was written. Like a primary school student, she would write her na on newly bought books.

She also had her own clever little thought. Writing her na on the first page might get torn off, but writing it on the side was different. Even if the book was stolen, her na couldn't be erased.

Lilith's gifts had already filled Loren's arms, and it wasn't over yet. She was still searching for sothing.

She was like a naive child, treating various unwanted things as her own treasures, holding them incredibly dear, yet now she was giving them all to Loren.

"This candy is the most delicious candy I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, it's been discontinued. I never had the heart to eat it. You must try it."

Lilith took a lollipop from an exquisite box and handed it to Loren.

Loren glanced at the expiration date on the candy. It had expired a hundred years ago. Moreover, there was a sticker on it that read, "This is the most delicious candy, the last one. Rember to save it for soone important."

Not just the candy, Loren noticed similar notes on those fairy tale books.

Lilith didn't rember these things at all; she even needed to specifically stick notes on them.

The lock on the box was broken. Loren could guess what had happened. Lilith found this beautiful box at ho, was curious about what was inside, but lost the key. She had to force it open. Discovering a lollipop inside, Lilith was delighted, only to see the note imdiately after. In the end, she could only swallow her saliva and put the box away carefully.

The fact that there was no dust on the box indicated this had happened many tis.

"And also, also..."

After giving Loren the lollipop, it still wasn't over. Lilith was about to continue searching when Loren promptly grabbed her hand.

"That's enough."

Hearing this, Lilith beca sowhat flustered.

"You don't like them?"

"No, I just feel it's not necessary."

Loren kept the lollipop and the key, returning everything else to Lilith's hands.

"We don't need to separate what's yours and mine. These are all ours."

Hearing this, Lilith suddenly broke into a smile and quickly picked up a pen to add Loren's na to her books.

"Co stay with for a while. The conditions should be a bit better than here."

Loren stroked Lilith's hair and spoke.

"As long as you're there, I'll go anywhere."

"Then let's go back..."

Lilith put her things away, took Loren's hand, and followed behind him. The two got into the car, and Lilith still obediently sat in the passenger seat, but a smile remained on her face the whole ti.

The roads here were uneven, so Loren drove very slowly, allowing him to clearly see the surrounding scenes.

Recently, the Epidemic wasn't as severe. The spread of the disease had stopped, and even the original infected seed to have developed antibodies. Loren was thinking about whether he could take the others out now. It was at this mont that he saw a shocking scene.

A holess person was hiding in a corner, taking out a new bottle of dicine. However, he didn't eat it pill by pill. Instead, he chose to pour the entire bottle into his mouth at once.

As he consud more and more dicine, his tolerance grew stronger. So, only by swallowing the whole bottle could he feel enough pleasure.

At this point, he wasn't taking the dicine to suppress his illness anymore; it was purely for the pleasure.

"Give one pill, please, I beg you..."

A holess person lying on the ground began grabbing his pant leg, pleading. Nowadays, the holess no longer begged for food, only for dicine.

The holess person who had taken the dicine was already imrsed in the pleasure, his eyes glazed over, completely oblivious to the outside world.

So, the other holess person was overco by a surge of malicious intent. He slit his throat with a knife, then cut open his stomach, shoving everything from his stomach into his own mouth, completely disregarding how the stomach acid might harm his body.

Loren silently turned his head away, unwilling to watch such a scene.

"Let all this end quickly..."

The road ahead beca smooth, and Loren stepped on the accelerator. The surrounding scenes flew past, out of sight, out of mind.

Loren knew that even if the Bloodline Rebels were wiped out, or if all the Vampires perished, people's lives wouldn't change much.

The dicine developed by Aisaco was too terrifying. Even without the disease, people couldn't leave the dicine.

The profits involved were horrifying, so horrifying that even if the Vampires were all dead, the Church would take over the dicine trade. If the Church were destroyed, rchants would take over...

Loren stepped on the brakes; they had returned to the hotel.

"Before we go back, let's buy so pastries first."

"Okay!"

Lilith agreed with Loren's suggestion. Holding hands, they went to the hotel's restaurant.

As for the affairs of Uridia, Loren didn't plan to get too involved. If the Church of Night and Thunder wasn't bothering, why should he care?

Loren was thinking that once the contract was completed, he might as well just leave. The contract didn't say he had to develop sothing particularly useful. Loren coming up with sunscreen wouldn't be unacceptable either.

It's just that seeing the people suffering and the land laid to waste, Loren couldn't help feeling sowhat uneasy.
