Mamadou had developed the habit of always sleeping in a safe place since he knew nothing about the dangers lurking outside. Even though this place seed safe, he unconsciously decided to build a cabin.

Of course, that wasn’t the only reason.

He could also store his belongings there.

After finding a suitable spot, he got to work. He braided roots and vines together to make cords.

His Claw skill had beco advanced enough to allow him to cut large branches.

It took him three days to achieve the result he wanted, from gathering materials to the final construction.

He had expected the other monsters to bother him or make threatening displays, but they did nothing of the sort.

Perched among the trees, this shelter was smaller than his previous hideout but felt far more refined. While checking his status, Mamadou realized that he had unlocked crafting skills and several other types of abilities unrelated to combat.

There were so whose usefulness he didn’t understand, and whose descriptions remained vague even when examined with Evaluation.

Thanks to those crafting skills, the final result of his cabin wasn’t bad at all. For a shelter built without a single nail, using only branches tied tightly together with cords, it was surprisingly sturdy.

Once it was finished, he searched for an open area and sat down.

He had brought back several prey animals he had hunted.

At last.

I can finally do it.

Mamadou nearly cried with joy.

He had lived in constant fear of attracting monsters he couldn’t handle, so he had never dared attempt it.

But today was different.

He was going to change his way of life.

He gathered small branches and dry leaves.

He rubbed and struck two stones together above the pile.

Nothing happened.

Fine.

It’s only the first attempt.

Who would have thought making fire was this difficult?

Several different types of stones t the sa fate, and he still couldn’t create a spark.

Eventually, Mamadou lost patience for a brief mont.

After calming down, he rembered another thod.

He took a dry piece of wood and carved a small hole into it. Using a larger branch, he spun it rapidly with his considerable strength.

After a while, he finally achieved his goal.

The friction produced smoke.

Then, at long last, fire.

"Finally, it’s ready!"

Turns out all those videos weren’t complete nonsense.

Mamadou suspected he lacked the proper technique and had succeeded only thanks to his strength and speed, but he wasn’t about to argue over details.

So he gave credit to those videos that always appeared on his feed at questionable hours.

He fed the fire with wood and planted stakes around it.

Then he made skewers.

Nothing complicated—he simply impaled chunks of monster at onto the stakes.

Smoke rose into the air.

A delicious aroma spread from the roasting at.

Mamadou smiled.

It brought back mories.

To think that he would have the chance to do sothing resembling a barbecue.

Better yet, after all this ti, he would finally be able to eat like a human again.

As soon as one of the skewers was perfectly roasted, he removed it and brought it to his mouth.

He took a bite.

The juices from the frog leg spread across his tongue.

The at tasted remarkably similar to chicken.

Mamadou was delighted.

"Yes! This is it! This is all I wanted!"

"That crispy exterior... that tenderness inside... it’s so juicy!"

"How did I survive until now?"

Mamadou lanted his circumstances while enjoying the blessed taste of cooked at.

As he savored his al, he noticed two Ark Monkey Kin approaching.

They had been attracted by the sll.

Even if they’re not intelligent, they still can’t resist good food apparently.

Mamadou secretly felt proud.

He was more than willing to share.

He stood up and removed two skewers from the fire.

"Is this what you want?"

The two monsters approached, grabbed the skewers, sat down, and began eating.

Mamadou burst into hearty laughter.

Just as he thought it was over, he saw more Ark Monkey Kin approaching.

His laughter imdiately beca nervous.

He hadn’t hunted enough prey.

What would happen if the entire mountain decided to co eat here?

That would be chaos.

"Surely not... right? Haha..."

The Ark Monkey Kin already present continued eating.

Seeing them enjoy the food was enough to make Mamadou happy, so he forgot his worries.

It was better for everyone to eat than to fight.

"Eat as much as you want. There are still a few left. But don’t complain afterward."

He wasn’t even sure whether everything they were eating was actually edible.

At worst, they’d suffer for a while.

As Mamadou enjoyed his al, he suddenly saw the Great Ark Monkey appear out of nowhere.

"Since you’ve started sothing, don’t you think you should see it through to the end, young Ma?"

As he spoke, he dropped another Green Austral Bear at Mamadou’s feet.

"Could you cook this as well? It seems the entire mountain has been invited to your ho. These children are coming."

Mamadou didn’t know what shocked him more.

The fact that this monster was talking about cooking?

Or the fact that his concerns had not been unfounded after all?

Where does he even find these things?

There was also the matter of the Green Austral Bear.

That monster wasn’t supposed to leave Mount ru.

Where was he finding bears like that?

Mamadou had explored part of the surrounding area and had never seen one.

The Great Ark Monkey approached and grabbed a skewer.

"I believe I deserve this. After all, I contributed."

With those words, the monster disappeared, leaving behind only a bewildered Mamadou and his companions, who seed completely unconcerned by what had just happened.

It must be nice being simple-minded, Mamadou muttered.

"The entire mountain?"

Mamadou saw several more Ark Monkey Kin approaching.

He wanted to cry.

Instead, he expanded the fire.

He butchered the Green Austral Bear and prepared even more roasted at.

It was fair to say that he remained extrely busy that night.

That day, despite everything, Mamadou experienced an unforgettable evening.

Although none of it had happened according to his plans, he genuinely enjoyed it.

The atmosphere.

The food.

And for the first ti since arriving in this world, the feeling that he wasn’t completely alone.
