After making new weapons, Mamadou estimated that he was ready. He had a basket woven from vines on his back. Inside were several weapons he had recently crafted.

"I think the place where the stele is located is far away. Fortunately, he gave sothing to locate it, otherwise I would have had to comb through this entire forest, which is impossible."

"Let’s go. I wonder what this famous guardian looks like!"

Mamadou therefore went to visit the Greater Ark Monkey to inform him of his intentions.

As usual, he found him sitting on one of the branches of the great tree, in the sa place as always.

"Senior, I think it’s ti for to head toward the first stele. I’ve taken ti to think about it and prepare myself."

The Greater Ark Monkey fixed his gaze on Mamadou.

His expression revealed very little. Mamadou found him increasingly mysterious. Who was this being? How long had he been here? Why had Mount ru been sealed?

All these questions never left his mind. In fact, his curiosity grew every ti.

"I can see that. But if you went in your current state, you would die. That is not the goal."

Just how dangerous was that place? Mamadou wondered. He beca increasingly reluctant about going.

"I promised you that if you accepted my proposal, I would make you far stronger than you are now."

"Yes, I rember," Mamadou replied with a nod.

That had been one of the conditions he found most appealing. If he rembered correctly, it had even been sothing about mastering the power of their species.

"Although I claid I could make you stronger, everything depends on you. I will rely provide the opportunities."

The Greater Ark Monkey, who had been on the tree, suddenly appeared directly in front of Mamadou.

By now, it was such a common sight that he no longer paid much attention to it.

"Follow ," he said.

"Although you have beco stronger over the past few days, I fear you still won’t be strong enough to fight the monsters near the stele. Not only because of their strength, but because of their numbers. If you struggle to defeat just one, then all of this is pointless. You will die before reaching the guardian.

"And the monsters around Mount ru are no longer strong enough to stimulate your growth."

"What should we do then?"

"As you have probably guessed, we need to find opponents suited to your level. The stronger they are compared to you, as long as the gap isn’t too great, the faster you will grow."

As they walked toward the other side of the mountain, they eventually arrived before a cave.

"I noticed that you were wondering about the origin of the Green Bear without daring to ask. Since I cannot leave Mount ru, where could I possibly have captured it?"

Mamadou did not deny it. It was true that he had been wondering.

And the Greater Ark Monkey answered.

"The answer is right before your eyes!"

"A cave?"

"More commonly called a pit. A place where phenona are distorted. Pits consu a trendous amount of energy to sustain themselves. That makes them places filled with both danger and opportunity."

"This pit has ten floors. Each floor is filled with monsters of all kinds. At the end of every floor there is a special monster. If you kill it, you will obtain its heart. The monsters you encounter inside will be sufficient to make you stronger."

"To teach you the abilities related to our species, you must evolve even further. Even with your rapid evolution, that would take too much ti. That is why you need to kill the floor boss. It will allow us to skip a few steps."

"However, I strongly advise you not to descend to the second floor by mistake. Since I don’t know exactly how much you will evolve, it would be better to avoid unnecessary risks."

I see. It sounds just like dungeons and portals from manhua and manhwa. When you clear a dungeon by defeating its boss, you earn a reward.

"I understand. But how long has this pit existed? And how far have you gone?"

"Since the creation of Mount ru. As for , I’ve wandered all the way down to the last floor!"

Predictable, isn’t it? Mamadou thought.

"In the near future, that will be nothing for you as well!" The Greater Ark Monkey looked at Mamadou and smiled.

"Since you were ready to go destroy the stele, I assu you don’t need any additional ti, do you?"

[Quest: Clear the First Floor of the ru Dungeon.]

A quest had just appeared.

Who exactly is this old monkey? Mamadou wondered. He is connected to so many opportunities. This is the second ti the system has given a quest.

Is he so hidden administrator playing with ?

[Reward: 500 Points]

[Y/N]

Oh, now we’re speaking the sa language.

The reward imdiately captured Mamadou’s attention.

He had more or less figured out that nearly everything he did could earn him points. Daily activities gave almost nothing, especially when they beca routine. Defeating enemies sotis awarded points, and leveling up did as well. But it had taken a very long ti just to reach one thousand points.

Quests were truly different.

Haha.

???

While he was distracted by the system ssage, Mamadou suddenly felt himself falling.

Turning his head, he imdiately understood.

That bastard pushed ? I wasn’t ready!

Damn it.

"If you survive this, you’ll thank ! Oh, and don’t forget to bring back enough for everyone."

The Greater Ark Monkey laughed at Mamadou as he tumbled pathetically into the pit.

One day I’ll make him my personal punching bag, Mamadou swore in his heart.

For now, of course, it was only a passing emotion.

Mamadou felt like he was falling for quite a while.

Eventually, he spotted the ground and twisted his body to reduce the impact.

BAM!

"Damn it, my Skill Points!"

Even though he hadn’t felt anything, he knew he had injured himself. Which ant he had just wasted SP to ignore the pain.

"That damned macaque."

He looked around.

There was no light whatsoever.

Fortunately, this did not bother Mamadou.

After evolving into an Ark Nocyris Monkey, he had realized that he could detect heat. He possessed a form of vision that allowed him to perceive the warmth emitted by living beings. He was therefore not completely blind.

In addition, he had also gained a Night Vision skill.

He decided to use both abilities to find a safe corner, assess his situation, and then begin clearing the pit.
