For Nellin, the subjugation of the black dragon with her comrades was an unforgettable journey.

At first, they often disagreed, but after overcoming nurous crises and hardships and sharing all kinds of experiences, they beca precious companions.

Nellin could still rember everything vividly.

The conversations they had during the journey.

The battles they fought on that journey.

The emotions she felt along the way.

"This is…"

That’s why Nellin rembered.

Where she had first seen the headpiece worn by the lich in the montage.

“That’s the thing Ventus said he’d wear if he ever beca Tower Master.”

“So you rembered too, Nellin.”

“Of course! But seriously, what the hell is going on here?! Why is that lich wearing it?”

“I don’t know either. The first ti I saw this drawing, I was… really shocked. I couldn’t tell if it was just a coincidence or if what I was thinking was actually true, so I couldn’t make a decision on my own.”

Nellin, together with Presia, continued looking at the montage, lost in reminiscence.

It was thirty years ago.

At the funeral for their comrade, Ventus Frail, who had died in a magic accident.

Even Aldor yer, once called theIron Wall Shield and now gone, had attended.

That day, even Nellin couldn’t manage to put on his usual cheerful and carefree deanor.

Because their comrade's death had been so sudden and aningless.

Back then, it was such a shock.

No one even questioned the claim that it had been a devastating magic accident—so strong that not even a body was left behind.

But now, thinking about it again, sothing didn’t sit right.

Ventus Frail had been passionate about magic, but above all, he valued precision.

That Ventus had caused a magical accident?

Even if there was an accident, it was odd that not even a single trace of a body remained.

What if Ventus hadn’t died?

What if he’d survived and returned now as a lich?

“Haah…”

Nellin sighed and scratched her head.

This wasn’t sothing she could easily make a judgnt on.

Now she could understand why Presia hadn’t been able to decide on her own.

“Presia, about the lich. He still retains his mories from before becoming a lich, right?”

“Yes. According to ancient texts, corrupted mages are recorded to retain grudges from life and seek revenge.”

“I see…”

Nothing had been definitively proven yet.

But there were far too many suspicious elents.

So Nellin thought.

Rather than sitting around overthinking, it was better to see things for herself with her own two eyes.

“If you find any trace of that lich bastard, let know. I’m dying to find out what kind of guy he is.”

“Okay.”

***

While Nellin and Presia were speculating on the lich’s identity with complicated emotions—

“Hmm… Should I try this one? No, Nellin might intercept it too easily, so I need to make it trickier…”

The very person they were worried about was thinking about how to show off the magic he’d been working on all this ti.

In the plan Troll had drawn up, staging a fake fight had beco an essential part of the process.

Because Troll also wanted to finally let loose with so flashy magic after so long!

He wanted to blow off steam and just enjoy casting so spells freely.

Just defeating a re B-rank monster wasn’t satisfying enough.

“Use a wave of golems to pin down the frontliners and then just focus on Nellin and Presia. Paulen doesn’t seem like the type to charge in recklessly like Aldor did.”

Troll was completely imrsed in the joy of predicting the battle and crafting the best spell combos.

And if he had one worry, it was this—

‘Is that beastkin girl really going to the Holy Capital?’

It was about Claire’s decision, the wolf beastkin girl who currently had the sli.

Troll, if possible, wanted to buy more ti to show off more magic to Nellin and Presia.

But if Claire took the sli and went straight to the Holy Capital, he’d have to move up his plans.

It’d be a disaster if suspicions spread like, “What if the lich did sothing to the sli when they t too early?!”

So Troll began ntally organizing the spells he’d show while checking the situation through the sli’s broadcast feed.

***

The second day after arriving in Chilture.

After getting a good night’s sleep at the inn, Claire sat down to breakfast while debating what to do next.

Should she head for the Holy Capital as planned?

Or should she leave a ssage and wait here?

After a full week of bouncing around in a carriage, sleeping on a cozy inn bed felt like heaven.

No sore butt, no cramped space.

The comfort of being able to stretch out her arms and legs on a soft bed after so long!

But to give that up after just one night and ride a carriage for another ten days to the capital?

“Ughhh…”

Her desire to grow stronger hadn’t changed.

But the desire to sleep comfortably was starting to shake her resolve.

Either way, it was already confird that the sli she’d t was the sa “Tongtong” Marin had been looking for.

So wouldn’t it be enough to just report it and wait here?

What if she crossed paths with Marin on the road and they missed each other?

Claire couldn’t resist the temptation and started thinking of ways to stay in Chilture.

Even after breakfast, she kept mulling it over until she made up her mind.

“Tongtong, give a massage.”

Brrrrrrrr!

“Aaaaaah~”

She decided to save the complicated stuff for later and just enjoy a refreshing massage for now.

[Noblesse Fire] ▶ That furry looks way too relaxed.

[Thread-Lady] ▶ I want to get a massage from Squishy too~!

▶ RO Curious tbh.

▶ If you did, your belly would probably jiggle lolol.

▶ You wanna die bro?

While Claire was escaping from making a decision and getting a massage, the sli was feeling frustrated.

‘I want to work out!’

It was the desire to exercise.

Back in the Holy Capital, it had lifted custom dumbbells, and even in Troll’s secret workshop, it had used Troll-made stone dumbbells without rest.

On top of that, the sli had sparred with opponents much stronger than itself, which made it feel like it was growing stronger every day.

However, after leaving the secret workshop and arriving in Chilture, the sli hadn’t done much besides giving massages to Claire and the others riding in the sa carriage.

If it were human, the sli would’ve been in a state of itching restlessness.

If Paulen knew how the sli was feeling right now, he’d probably shed a tear and say, “Such a noble mindset!”

There were no dumbbells here.

No Paulen.

No Troll either.

That’s why the sli knew it couldn’t do its usual workouts.

Even so, it wanted to move its body, so the sli typed in the chat.

▷ Troll!

[Free Spirit] ▶ Huh? You called?

▷ I wanna work out! But I don’t have any dumbbells!

▶ Lol what’s with that all of a sudden

[Gothic Luxury Bone] ▶ Looks like Squishy wants to work out. It was consistent even when it was at Troll’s place.

[Just Slam First] ▶ That’s like the urge to body slam sothing.

▶ Is working out even fun?

▶ Probably more fun than your life, lol.

▶ Hahahaha

As always, the sli ignored the usual trolling and asked Troll directly.

▷ How do you make dumbbells?

The sli had seen Troll make them and wanted to try it too.

But Troll was in a bind.

The dumbbells he’d made for the sli had been crafted using magic. There was no way the sli could replicate that.

[Free Spirit] ▶ I made them using magic.

▷ Magic! I want to use magic too!

[Free Spirit] ▶ That’s not possible.

▷ Why not?

[Squishy Queen] ▶ You scoundrel, Troll! How dare you tell my kin it's not possible!

▶ Lol here cos the obsessive sli-mom.

▶ Ah! Just give Squishy whatever it wants!

[Free Spirit] ▶ You need to learn spellcraft and stuff to use magic. It takes ti. I can’t teach you right now.

[Noblesse Fire] ▶ Spellcraft? Doesn’t that just pop into your head?

[Gothic Luxury Bone] ▶ Isn’t magic sothing you can pick up easily? Sotis you just get it with a skill.

‘That’s just a perk of you dragon types!’

[Squishy Queen] ▶ Even those two can use magic!

[Free Spirit] ▶ So, can you use magic, Queen?

[Squishy Queen] ▶ That has nothing to do with !

[Free Spirit] ▶ Even the supre Squishy Queen finds it hard to learn. So it’s not going to be easy for Squishy either.

The Squishy Queen wanted to clap back imdiately, but doing so would wound her pride as Queen, so she couldn’t respond right away.

▶ Lol, that was a brutal truth bomb.

▶ Yo yo, she’s about to cry lol

[Squishy Queen] ▶ Who said I’m crying?! Silence!

▷ So I can’t learn magic?

[Free Spirit] ▶ I’ll teach you when I get the chance ㅠㅠ. But I really can’t make dumbbells right now. Sorry.

▷ I see…………

After living together for a month, the sli knew what kind of person Troll was.

At the very least, the sli understood that Troll only typed sothing like that when he truly ant he couldn’t do it right now.

And then—

▶ Squishy, do you wanna work out?

It was the infamous troll, Buntang, who always yelled "GGG" whenever the sli tried anything risky.

The Orc King ssaged the sli.

▷ I wanna work out!

▶ LOL, just wait there a few days. I’ll set you up with a proper workout.

[Squishy Queen] ▶ What are you scheming?!

▶ Scheming? Please. Lately Squishy’s stream’s been super boring, so I’m just trying to provide so new content.

▶ New content?

▶ Hmm, go on.

▶ Yeah, let’s hear it lolol

[Free Spirit] ▶ What kind of content?

‘This troll used to stir up drama all the ti…’

Based on Troll’s database of 30 years of watching countless streams, the one behind the anonymous ssages now was definitely the Orc King.

He used to go by [Smooth Wind King], trolling under that na until he got banned from nurous streams.

Maybe because of all those bans, he now kept his trolling within safe boundaries so that it could still be seen as playful.

System-wise, fixed nicknas could be permanently banned, but anonymous users could only be banned for 1 hour, 3 hours, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 1 month.

Troll was already thinking about hitting the “one-month ban” button the mont this guy said anything too wild.

▶ It’s a back-to-back combat content drop! Lately it’s all just been sparring with humans and Troll, right? That’s not enough! If it wants to truly evolve, it’s gotta defeat real enemies and gain power through battle!

▶ That’s true.

▶ Honestly, the fact it evolved once and is already that strong is kind of insane lol

To evolve, a sli needed to defeat enemies of a certain strength.

But the sli hadn’t actually defeated anyone in months.

Monster als usually ant eating sothing you had taken down yourself.

But the sli had been eating at others gave it.

Training sparred experience didn’t count toward evolution.

[Squishy Queen] ▶ Indeed, as my kin, it’s about ti for evolution. With its strength, not evolving yet is just plain slow.

The Squishy Queen was also in favor of the sli evolving soon.

[Squishy Queen] ▶ So how exactly are you planning to provide this back-to-back combat content?

In response to an anonymous question, the Orc King replied confidently.

▶ I’ll send my minions to the human village where Squishy is!
