The chat window beca chaotic at the Orc King’s comnt.

▶ You're sending your subordinates?

[Noblesse Fire] ▶ Are you from the Derxia continent?

[Squishy Queen] ▶ What do you plan to do by sending your subordinates?

As curiosity spread through the chat, the Orc King chuckled and continued typing.

▶ Of course, Squishy will fight alongside the human. I’ll send over so of the stronger ones just for you.

▶ But your subordinates might die, is that okay?

▶ What’s the problem? I can do whatever I want with my own subordinates for my own fun.

Kya-kya-kya.

▶ His thinking was just on another level.

▶ Honestly, if they’re weaker than , they should listen to lol.

No one criticized the Orc King for sending his subordinates—those weaker of his own kind—to the sli.

Even if they were all monsters, they were still different species.

There was no reason to feel pity for how the Orc King treated his underlings.

Because monsters follow the law of the jungle.

It was only natural that the weak obey the strong.

Especially since, unlike the intelligent ones who use the system, most of the weaker, less intelligent ones of their race were basically subordinates who obeyed him.

Sure, there were monsters who valued their own kind, but they were a minority.

And since it was the Orc King, he could carry out this kind of content.

▶ Fewer mbers of the race?

▶ He could always increase their numbers again.

▶ That’s how easily he thought about it.

Most viewers were instead looking forward to what kind of fun content the Orc King would create with this.

▶ Squishy, don’t move from that village. The subordinates I send will be raiding that village.

▷ No raiding! People will get hurt!

▶ Lol I don’t care if humans get hurt. If you don’t want them to get hurt, then do your best to defeat my subordinates.

▶ That’s fair, lol.

[Thread-Lady] ▶ Squishy, good luck!

[Just Slam First] ▶ Let’s take this chance to wipe out all the guys he sends and see so serious body slams!

[Gothic Luxury Bone] ▶ Hoho, looks like we’ll finally get to see Squishy in action again.

[Squishy Queen] ▶ O My kin! Show your strength! Defeat the ones coming your way and grow stronger!

The other viewers didn’t try to stop the Orc King and instead looked forward to or cheered for the sli’s performance.

Unless it was soone like Jessie, Godrick’s party, Alia, or Paulen—people who had appeared on the stream multiple tis.

They didn’t really care if humans who barely showed up on screen and had low star ratings got hurt.

What they really cared about was sothing else.

▶ So, which subordinates are you sending?

[Squishy Queen] ▶ If you’re sending them with the intent to kill my kin, I won’t forgive you!

▶ I’m sending orcs. I’ll mix in so Orc Warriors, and if they put up a good fight, I might even send an Orc Champion.

[Noblesse Fire] ▶ Ugh, you're just another filthy human lover like the goblins.

▶ Being compared to goblins was a bit much...

▶ So you're admitting you're a human lover? lol

▶ Ahaha, just stating facts lol

[Just Slam First] ▶ There’ll be lots of them, so we’ll get to see plenty of body slamming!

"Orcs! Bring lots!"

The sli figured that even if it said not to send them, the Orc King would send orcs anyway.

So, the only thing it could do was deal with the orcs trying to attack the village.

▷ Orcs! I’ll defeat them!

▶ Olololol

▶ Squishy’s so fired up.

[Squishy Queen] ▶ A fine resolve, my kin! Show your strength to that fool who only knows how to increase numbers!

[Thread-Lady] ▶ You can do it, Squishy~!

▷ Okay!

The sli’s enthusiastic reply made the Orc King believe the sli had accepted the content plan.

▶ It’ll take a few days for my subordinates to arrive, so spend the ti doing quests with the human you’re with.

***

‘What should I do?’

It was the third day since arriving in Chilture.

Thanks to two days of rest, Claire had completely recovered from the fatigue of travel.

‘What do I do...’

Her reluctance to travel long distances had lessened compared to yesterday.

But one of the excuses she had thought of yesterday—the possibility of missing soone if she left for the Holy City—now felt like it could actually co true.

After much thought...

“Tongtong.”

Claire decided to ask the sli’s opinion.

“Are you going to the Holy City?”

‘No! I can’t go to the Holy City! The orcs will co!’

At her question, the sli twisted its body side to side.

“You don’t want to go?”

‘No! I really can’t go now!’

Boing!

“I see.”

‘So the sli doesn’t want to miss soone either.’

Claire assud the sli didn’t want to go to the Holy City for the sa reason as her.

Even though the sli hadn’t said anything about possibly missing soone, Claire didn’t think that deeply about it.

“Then what should we do here?”

‘Quests!’

Boing!

Pop!

The sli bounced once to get Claire’s attention, then extended a tentacle to point in a direction.

“Hm?”

Claire looked where the sli was pointing.

She was currently sitting in the inn’s first-floor dining room.

And in the direction the sli pointed—there was the Adventurer’s Guild.

“You want to go to the guild?”

‘Yes!’

Boing!

“Alright. Hop on.”

Boing!

The sli imdiately hopped onto Claire’s head.

Following the sli’s suggestion, Claire headed for the Adventurer’s Guild.

As soon as they entered, the sli slid down from Claire’s head to her shoulder and poked her cheek with a tentacle.

“Why?”

‘Quest!’

Stretch!

The sli extended its tentacle toward the quest board so Claire could see it.

“You want to take a quest?”

‘Yes!’

Shiver-shiver!

A sli asking to take a quest on its own.

Claire thought to herself as she watched.

‘What a strange sli.’

A sli that wants to take on quests to defeat other monsters.

But after a mont, Claire tilted her head in confusion.

‘Isn’t that... strange?’

Now that she thought about it, when they first t, it had also protected her by attacking other monsters.

So maybe it wasn’t so strange that a sli like that wanted to take on a monster extermination quest.

‘Anyway, it can fight monsters.’

Setting aside the very unusual sli, Claire still had a strong desire to kill monsters that hard people.

Monsters that wanted to hurt others.

“Let’s take a quest.”

‘Okay!’

Shiver-shiver!

Claire walked over to the quest board and picked a C-rank monster extermination quest near the village, then brought it to the receptionist.

“I’ll take this one.”

“Understood. By the way, what do you plan to do about the sli?”

“I’m not sure yet. I’ll think it over a bit more.”

“Alright then. Good luck.”

***

The monster Claire chose was a C-rank called Ugly Mouse.

It was a very grotesque monster with a long, straight body, a round head, and thick teeth.

Worse, it had no eyes, nose, or ears on its head—just a huge mouth—making it the number one most grotesque monster reported in the village.

It was quite tanky and hard to bring down, and its powerful bite force could easily cut through flesh, which was why it was rated C-rank.

As soon as she left the village, Claire sharpened her senses to look for the Ugly Mouse.

In monster hunting, the most ti-consuming part is often just finding the monster.

There’s even a specialized job among adventurers called a “tracker,” whose sole role is to locate monsters.

But since Claire was a beastkin, her sense of sll and hearing were more sensitive than a human’s, so she could find monsters more easily than other adventurers.

Still, there was soone even better than Claire at finding monsters.

And that was the sli.

‘Ugly Mouse! I’ll find it!’

Ziiiiing.

The mont they left the village, the sli activated its detection skill.

It was far more precise and wide-ranging than simply relying on hearing and sll.

Fifteen minutes later, while Claire was still searching, an Ugly Mouse entered the sli’s detection range.

Boing!

Pop!

‘Over here!’

The sli hopped down from Claire’s head and extended a tentacle to point the way.

“Huh? You want to go that way?”

‘Yep!’

Boing!

The sli bounced in the direction it had indicated.

Claire followed, but she had her doubts.

That’s because at first, when the sli had tried to lead her, it had gone in the opposite direction of the village.

Besides, Claire had confidence in her own tracking skills, so it was hard to believe the sli had already found the monster she couldn’t even sense yet.

But her doubts didn’t last long.

‘It’s there.’

As she kept following the sli, listening carefully with her ears perked, Claire began to sense it too.

There really was a monster in the direction the sli was heading.

She couldn’t be sure if it was the Ugly Mouse, but at least it proved the sli wasn’t just moving randomly.

And sure enough, after continuing a bit further, Claire finally encountered the monster she’d been looking for.

The Ugly Mouse.

‘So ugly.’

Even though the drawing on the quest sheet had looked bizarre, seeing it in real life was enough to make her grimace.

It wasn’t the kind of creature that could earn anyone’s affection.

And apparently, she wasn’t the only one who thought so.

▶ So freakin’ ugly.

▶ Ugly!

[Squishy Queen] ▶ What is that freakish thing?

[Thread-Lady] ▶ Not even remotely cute!

[Noblesse Fire] ▶ What the hell is that thing?

Through the stream, even the watching monsters were giving the Ugly Mouse very low ratings.

The mont Claire spotted it, she readied herself and tightened her legs for a charge.

But before she could move—

Boing!

SMACK!

“Squueeak!”

The sli tackled the Ugly Mouse head-on with a powerful bounce.

The impact shattered the monster’s massive teeth, which clattered to the ground.

[Just Slam First] ▶ Damn! That was a perfect tackle, Squishy! Great timing and power!

▶ You’re dropping mid-tier mobs in one shot now.

▶ Lol those muscle gains weren’t for nothing~

[Squishy Queen] ▶ Truly excellent, my kin!

[Gothic Luxury Bone] ▶ I don’t think there’s another sli with Squishy’s level of skill at this stage.

‘Hehe. Aweso!’

The flood of complints in chat made the sli very happy.

anwhile—

‘Still amazing.’

Claire watched the sli’s performance and was impressed.

A sli that could consistently pull off such powerful tackles.

‘I can’t fall behind. I’ll beco stronger too.’

Most adventurers would probably just let the sli carry the quest and take it easy.

But Claire was different.

Instead, she felt her motivation burning.

She promised herself she’d beco stronger than she was now.

‘Next ti, I’ll attack first.’

After collecting the Ugly Mouse’s tooth to use as evidence, Claire turned to the sli and said:

“Tongtong, next ti I’ll do the fighting.”

‘Okay!’

Boing!

Having previously fought alongside Godrick’s party, the sli understood the idea of taking turns in battle.

“Good.”

Satisfied with the sli’s quick response, Claire smiled.

“Let’s find another one. Can you find one?”

In response to her question, the sli activated its detection skill again.

Ziiiiing.

‘Found one!’

Fortunately, the next Ugly Mouse was not far from where they were.

‘This way!’

Pop!

“That way, huh?”

Thwack!

This ti, without any doubt, Claire sprinted in the direction the sli pointed.
