Anastasia aka Clara’s pov
I woke up and blinked twice, before I slowly sat up on the bed.
"For how long have I been asleep? And how did I end up in this bed?". I muttered as I dipped my hand in my pocket and took out my cell phone.
My eyes widened when I saw what the ti was. "3:30pm?! I can’t believe this!". I exclaid and jumped out of bed.
’You should believe it, Clara. You have been asleep for such a long ti that I have slept and woken up, only to find you still asleep, until now’. Elektra said to , before I ran out of the bedroom with only one thought in my mind. ’Fireball, Irving!’.
As I got closer to the living room, I could perceive a very familiar scent, and without a single hint of doubt in , I knew that the scent belonged to beta Damien, and Anders was there with him.
Upon arriving in the living room, I saw that Anders, who had an unsettled look on his face, was sitting opposite Beta Damien, who had his gaze fixed on him.
Why is beta Damien here?!
He must have been the one who took to the bedroom.
"Beta Damien?". I said his na and was trying to understand if it was a clone of him or the real him. ’How did he know the exact hotel that I had lodged in? And how did he enter my room? Did he break down the door or sothing?’.
’That shouldn’t be the question in your mind, Clara. You should be asking how co he is here in the human cities’. Elektra said to .
Beta Damien rose up and approached , stopping in his tracks as he stood a foot away from . "Did sothing happen to you, Alpha Anastasia? You slept for so long. I had thought about taking you to a hospital". He said. His voice was the sa as always. Deep and almost cold, void of emotion.
But there was an improvent in his facial expression. Seeing him now, I could tell that he was worried about . Even though he wasn’t showing it that much.
I glanced at Anders, who flinched the instant my eyes t his.
He must be afraid of now, because of what I had done earlier.
After hearing beta Damien’s questions, I was certain that Anders had not uttered a word to him about Fireball and Irving.
As I recalled the main reason why I had rushed to the living room, I looked around the room and saw that Fireball and Irving were both sitting on the sofa that faced the flat-screen television that was playing a movie. They were looking at , and I was very relieved to see them, to the extent that I didn’t hide my expression and sighed in relief with my hand on my chest.
"Are you alright, alpha Anastasia?". Beta Damien asked , making look at him and rember that I hadn’t answered his questions.
"Yes, Beta Damien. I am alright. But, how co you are here in the human cities? Also, how did you find the exact hotel I was staying at? How did you get into my room?". I replied to him and asked him.
As Beta Damien began to answer my question, I mind - linked Anders, ’About the dragons’.
I had not finished talking to Anders through mind - link, and he hurriedly replied to , ’Alp - Alpha Anastasia, pleas - please be at ease. I won’t tell anyone about Fireball and Irving, I promise. I won’t tell anyone what I have seen. Please don’t send away’.
He begged , as if I threatened him.
"So you are saying you ca to the human cities after I left the shadows’ pack with President Michael?". I asked Beta Damien and he nodded at . I took a step closer to him, leaving no space between both of us. My eyes fixed on his. "Why do I feel you are telling a lie, beta Damien? My instinct is telling that you arrived in the human cities before . If not, can you explain why you hurriedly left my side that day?".
"Sothing urgent ca up at that ti, so I had to hurry up and go check it out, before I later went to the human cities to find you, after discovering that you had already left the shadows’ pack with President Michael". Beta Damien said. To make it worse, he had a really convincing look on his face, and I could honestly feel that he was telling a lie.
Since Beta Damien wasn’t in any way ready to tell the truth, I chose not to ask him further questions about it again and stepped away from him, before I went and sat beside Fireball and Irving, who both ca and rested on my laps.
"You still haven’t answered my question, Alpha Anastasia. You slept for hours. Did sothing happen?". Beta Damien asked.
"Oh, about that, I was trying to treat President Michael’s daughter when I found a strange bite mark on her leg. So, I visited President Michael’s family vacation mansion later on and found a hybrid creature there. It turns out that the hybrid creature was the one responsible for the bite mark, and making President Michael’s daughter sick". I casually said to him.
Petting Fireball and Irving, who shut their eyes, I added, "The hybrid creature could talk".
Beta Damien’s eyes flashed with surprise, before I continued to say, "I depleted my awakened powers of light trying to bring the hybrid creature down. The hybrid creature was so strong. It was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. So, after I successfully killed the hybrid creature, I returned to my hotel room and slept off. I didn’t know what happened after that".
Yep. I told a lie to Beta Damien with a nonchalant deanor.
Well, didn’t he do the sa? There was no way I would tell him everything that happened. But, what is happening to ? Why did I lose my sanity after I used my manipulation power? I have checked it before. The source of my powers of light is currently shining brighter than the source of my powers of destruction.
What truly happened? I don’t understand. I feel very unsettled about this.
Because of , Anders, Fireball and Irving could have lost their lives.
I don’t ever want to be a mindless monster again.
I hope that what Fireball and Irving did will help never lose control of myself again.
