The man in the lead looked her over, compared her with the photo on his phone, and said, "That’s her. Take her."
The door of Gu Anjin’s car was forcibly yanked open. A man with an eyepatch over one eye made an inviting gesture at her.
"Miss Gu, please get out of the car."
She only panicked for an instant before calming down. Looking at them, she asked, "Who are you?"
"Our boss wants to see you. You’ll know when the ti cos."
"Fine." Gu Anjin knew hesitating was pointless and agreed without fuss.
The n saw she was a delicate, fragile-looking girl, the type who should be screaming the mont she saw bad guys, yet she didn’t cry or throw a fit, just calmly got out of the car. One by one, they were all surprised.
"Wait." The man with the eyepatch glanced at her hand. "Sorry, you can’t bring your phone."
Gu Anjin rolled her eyes and tossed her phone back into the car.
Before throwing it, she had already silently pressed the ergency SOS button.
Only no one there would know, because it wouldn’t make any sound.
Gu Anjin got into the front passenger seat of a jeep. The man felt very at ease, he didn’t even bother tying her up.
"Just like this?" She raised her hands. "You’re not tying up?"
The man in the black eyepatch, about to start the engine, suddenly smiled at her. "You really want to be tied up?"
"Aren’t you afraid I’ll run?"
"Miss Gu, do you think you can run?"
A whole convoy of people who looked like terrorists. Of course she couldn’t get away.
Gu Anjin resigned herself to the situation. With her identity, she should have bodyguards wherever she went, because kidnapping was always a possibility.
But this ti she hadn’t wanted any security, she’d slipped out on her own to get so air.
She hadn’t expected to be this unlucky.
Then again, if she’d brought a couple of bodyguards, at this point they’d probably be dead and useless anyway.
She could tell every one of these n had a gun.
"And you, Miss Gu," the man in the black eyepatch asked curiously as he drove, "aren’t you scared?"
Gu Anjin rested her fingers against her temple and looked out the window.
She didn’t look kidnapped at all; it was more like she’d gotten into a car with soone she knew.
Expressionless, she said, "What’s there to be scared of? That you’ll kill ? Perfect, I was just thinking about jumping into the sea."
The man in the black eyepatch raised a brow. "But there are a lot of things in this world more frightening than death. Believe , a little girl like you wouldn’t want to run into them."
"Maybe. But I feel like I’ve already gone through the most terrifying thing this world could throw at ."
From her tone, the man in the black eyepatch could hear a strange sort of dejection and despair.
Heh, Yue Siqing’s precious woman actually doesn’t want to live anymore?
If he hadn’t seen her half-dead attitude with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it.
*
"You can’t find her?"
Yue Siqing’s face was dark to the extre, his gaze sharp enough to slice a man into pieces at any mont.
It had been an hour since Gu Anjin’s SOS signal ca through. All they had found was her car and the phone left inside.
A panic he had never felt before spread through his whole body. He was ice-cold all over, his aura crushing, and the hand gripping the back of the chair seed as if it could crush it.
"Big brother." Arthur was so anxious he was pacing in circles, but they had already done everything they could. For now, they could only wait. "It has to be because you killed Sophia yesterday and pissed off Anthony. To avenge his sister, he..."
Arthur didn’t dare go on. Everyone could see it.
But what good did that do.
"I think we shouldn’t tell the Gu Family for the ti being." After pondering for a mont, Arthur forced himself to calm down. "We should resolve this privately as fast as possible."
