Nicholas Croft notified the aunt at ho before returning to the villa. Panda Eyes reacted more enthusiastically than Aunt Wang upon seeing him walk through the door, placing both front paws on Nicholas and continuously whimpering, even extending its long tongue in an attempt to lick Nicholas’s handso face.
Nicholas Croft grasped Panda Eyes’ two front paws with both hands, smiling as he asked, "Little rascal, have you been diligently guarding the house while I was away..."
"Woof woof..." Panda Eyes barked at Nicholas, as if reporting.
Aunt Wang stood nearby, wanting to co over but hesitating, her eyes slightly moist. She said emotionally, "Sir, you’re back,"
The matter with the Ma’am...she heard about it; such a young and kind girl, it was unimaginable that at such a young age...
"Mm," Nicholas responded, releasing Panda Eyes’ front paws, and the latter circled around him, wagging its tail continuously and occasionally rubbing its face against his long legs.
"Aunt Wang, is everything at ho okay?"
"Yes, yes, everything’s fine," Aunt Wang wiped her tears, wanting to offer so comforting words but hesitating until she decided not to say anything.
The relationship between Sir and Ma’am...she, being the housekeeper, had seen it all. It’s been less than half a year...it’s not easy to just forget.
"Alright, Aunt Wang, you carry on, I’m going upstairs to grab so things."
Nicholas nodded and strode towards the staircase, Panda Eyes trailing closely behind him, wagging its tail.
Grab things?
Aunt Wang frowned, puzzled, suddenly realizing as she turned, "Sir, you’re not staying here?"
"No, I’ve purchased an apartnt outside." Nicholas clutched the railing and ascended the stairs, Panda Eyes swiftly darting ahead, racing up the stairs as if clearing the way for him.
"Alas, Ma’am is gone, and Sir isn’t living here anymore." Aunt Wang sighed as she walked towards the kitchen, suddenly rembering that Hannah Hargrave ca back this morning from outside, didn’t go to the company for work, and was resting in her bedroom.
Aunt Wang wanted to remind him, but Nicholas’s figure had already vanished into the second-floor corridor.
Panda Eyes ran to sit in front of the bedroom door belonging to Nicholas Croft and Sophie Foster, whimpering to him as if seeking credit. Nicholas understood its aning and, as he pushed the door open, patted Panda Eyes’ head, saying, "I know, you’ve done well."
Seeing Nicholas walk into the bedroom, Panda Eyes whimpered and followed him inside.
Nicholas’s purpose in returning to the villa was simple: to retrieve his household registration book. Who knew that after rummaging through the drawer where it was stored, he couldn’t find his household registration book?
Frowning slightly, Nicholas rembered that at the ti, the marriage certificate and household registration book were kept by Sophie Foster in the drawers of the bedside cabinet. Could it be that he changed the place later?
It seems unlikely; he rembered they were still in the drawer before he left...
Returning the items in the drawer, Nicholas intended to search other cabinet drawers.
Behind him, a female voice sounded, "Nicholas?"
Nicholas turned around, and Hannah Hargrave was already standing at the door. Seeing that it was really him, her face couldn’t hide the surprise, "When did you co back?"
While speaking, Hannah had already entered. Previously, she was most afraid of Panda Eyes, but her happiness at seeing Nicholas return ho overshadowed her fear. Despite Panda Eyes barking unfriendly at her, she approached Nicholas and unexpectedly threw herself into his arms.
