Ethan Grant wanted to visit Jas and his wife. Although these two were Serena Sullivan’s uncle and aunt, since Serena acknowledged them as her parents, Ethan did too.
He’s been busy fighting for projects against The Sterling Corporation these days, leaving him neither ti nor preparation.
Jas, after all, was from The Sterling Family. Knowing that Ethan was snatching their business, who knows if he’d be welcod?
Ethan hesitated, wanting to go in, but feeling afraid to!
Serena had no objections; she wanted to find a ti for Ethan to have a al with The Sterling Family.
If Ethan wanted to go in now, he could.
"Okay."
After she spoke, the gate of Deepwood opened, and two n ca out.
They were Eldest Master Sterling and Second Master Sterling, who ca out to fetch sothing. Upon seeing Serena, smiles appeared on their faces, but when they saw Ethan squatting in front of Serena, their expressions imdiately turned sour.
"Serena!"
Serena saw Eldest Master Sterling and Second Master Sterling approaching and called, "Big Brother, Second Brother."
Ethan stood up and turned to see the unpleasant faces of the two Sterling heirs. Today, Second Master Sterling was accompanying Wyatt Sterling in a bidding session against him in the eting room.
Nevertheless, Ethan, thick-skinned, followed Serena and called, "Big Brother, Second Brother, I’m Ethan Grant."
Speaking, he extended his hand towards Eldest Master Sterling.
The Sterling Family couldn’t possibly not know Ethan Grant’s reputation!
The last ti he stood outside their house all night, they later found out this person was remarkable.
The ruler of The Grant Family in Solaria, the infamous man who abandoned Serena.
These things weren’t the main focus; the main focus was that Ethan was now competing against The Sterling Family, and had previously snatched a lot of business from them.
They had seen thick-skinned people before, but never soone who would snatch business during the day and have the audacity to call them "Brother" at night, such a shaless man.
Eldest Master Sterling didn’t shake his hand; he smiled at Serena and said, "Serena, you go ahead inside, I’ll go to the trunk to get so wine."
After Eldest Master Sterling walked away, Ethan extended his hand to Second Master Sterling.
Second Master Sterling’s face was even darker; he clenched his fist, resisting the urge to punch Ethan.
If he was to hit soone, it couldn’t be in front of Serena.
Eldest Master Sterling carried the wine inside, and as he stepped up the stairs, he shouted into the house, "Dad, that person surnad Grant is here."
Eldest Master Sterling was gentle and also the most cunning.
He wouldn’t beat Ethan; naturally, he’d leave Ethan for the elders in the family to deal with.
Before long, there was movent in the house. Ethan thought it was soone coming to greet him, so he straightened his suit, preparing to face the intimidating father-in-law and mother-in-law in his best state.
"Where’s the one surnad Grant?"
The voice erged first, followed by the door being pushed further open. Jas stood at the entrance holding a kitchen knife.
Wearing an apron, the knife in his hand was dripping with blood—a scene that made Ethan’s scalp tingle. He moved closer to Serena, while Second Master Sterling took the chance to push Serena inside the house.
"Hello, Dad!"
Ethan, understanding the situation, saw the "aggressive" Jas and called out "Dad," instead of "Uncle."
This greeting made Jas feel comfortable, but just trying to please him so easily was impossible. He shook the knife in his hand, asking, "Ethan Grant, right? Co in for a al."
Saying this, he shook the knife again.
Such a threat would make Ethan afraid to enter.
Evidently, he underestimated Ethan’s level of thick skin.
Since the father-in-law invited him for dinner, Ethan had no reason to refuse.
The knife? Just to scare him; with Serena present, he wasn’t afraid.
Jas, guarding the door, watched Ethan pass by him; the knife never swung down.
After Ethan went inside, wanting to stand beside Serena, Eldest Master Sterling and Second Master Sterling stood on either side of Serena, not giving him a chance to get close.
