After finishing the IV drip, it was already past two in the afternoon when she left the hospital.
The first thing Vanessa Sterling did after leaving the hospital was to find a small noodle shop across the street.
The al was simple, but at least it filled her stomach.
She walked back to the studio, and her assistant imdiately grabbed her, saying: "Teacher Sterling, you ca just a little too late again."
"What happened?"
The assistant pointed excitedly across the street and said: "The car parked over there earlier, it’s really that handso guy’s car. I just saw him drive it away with my own eyes. If you’d co half a minute earlier, you could have seen him."
Vanessa pretended not to care, saying to her assistant: "You seem so bored all day, maybe you should stay late and work tonight."
The assistant chuckled and said: "I have a date tonight. You’re so kind and beautiful, Teacher Sterling, surely you wouldn’t make work overti."
Vanessa smiled and looked at her encouragingly: "If you don’t want to work late, then hurry up and get to work."
Watching Vanessa head upstairs, the assistant leaned against the railing, calling out, "Teacher Sterling, you have to seize the mont when fate arrives. If that handso guy leaves and you can’t see him for a long ti, you’ll be longing by the window every day."
Vanessa paused at the top of the staircase and softly scolded: "Stop spouting nonsense all day long."
"Your face is all red, yet you say I’m the one talking nonsense," the assistant teased mischievously. "I think the handso guy doesn’t live around here permanently, maybe he’s just here on business. If he changes jobs or finishes the project here, he might never co back, and you’ll regret it."
Vanessa didn’t reply and jogged up the stairs.
The assistant stood downstairs muttering to herself: "I was wondering why such a pretty person like Teacher Sterling doesn’t have a partner; turns out it’s because she’s too reserved!"
After school in the afternoon, the children were picked up by their parents one after another, and the tutors gradually clocked out and left.
The assistant was waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up. With nothing to do, she took the watering can and watered the plants outside.
She heard the sound of a vehicle passing by, and turned her head, initially thinking her boyfriend had arrived.
Only then did she realize that the handso guy had returned.
The car parked in the sa spot again.
The assistant hesitated for a mont while holding the watering can, then took a deep breath, put the can down, and ran toward the parked car.
"Hey, handso!"
Miles Sterling, who had just gotten out of the car, didn’t realize soone was calling him.
Catching a glimpse of a shadow rushing towards him, he stopped and looked in that direction.
"Hey, handso, wait!" The assistant, panting, ran over.
Miles looked puzzled, glancing in the direction the assistant ca from, seemingly from Vanessa’s studio.
"Um... I’m from the studio opposite, you rember last ti you helped us out, right?"
Miles hesitated, nodded, and asked casually: "Is there sothing you need?"
"We didn’t properly thank you at the ti. It’s rare to see you again, could you give us your contact information?"
Miles finally understood what the girl’s intent was, so he politely declined: "No need, I..."
The girl quickly explained: "Oh, don’t get wrong, I’m not hitting on you. Our boss asked to get it, she said you were like a lifesaver and really wants to thank you properly when she has the chance."
Miles lowered his gaze and chuckled, not believing that Vanessa would say such a thing.
After a mont of silence, out of politeness, he took a business card from his pocket and handed it to the girl, then said: "Actually, your boss knows how to contact ."
