Hearing his exaggerated response, Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh, then asked him again, "So how would you handle ?"

Shane Warner reached out to pinch her waist discontentedly: "Do you really want to keep a pretty boy?"

His strength wasn’t too heavy or too light; it hurt but not unbearably so. Audrey Sutton, who was ticklish, shrank away and dodged, and only after moving his hand away did she say, "What if you cheat on ?"

Shane Warner: "You can kill ."

"Is it not good for to remarry when I’m still young? If you cheat, you’re a scumbag, and going to jail over a scumbag isn’t worth it."

Shane Warner surprisingly couldn’t refute her answer, rely rebuking her dissatisfiedly, "You’ve been drinking too many bubble teas, your mind is filled with strange thoughts."

"What’s it got to do with bubble tea? Besides, it’s not strange at all. The future is long, who knows what might happen? If you’re prepared, you won’t panic."

Shane Warner beca increasingly displeased as he listened: "So you’re planning on divorcing ?"

Audrey Sutton lowered her eyes and mumbled, "I don’t want to, but just in case..."

Before Audrey Sutton could finish her sentence, her mouth was captured by his.

He seed a bit annoyed and kissed her sowhat fiercely.

Audrey Sutton was initially startled by his sudden action, but then she actively responded to him until she was short of breath, whereupon Shane Warner finally drew back.

"Aren’t you planning to inherit my estate? The estate doesn’t go to an ex-wife."

Audrey Sutton "hmph"ed, fiddling with his large hand: "Who wants your estate? I want to die before you; I’ll live to ninety-nine, you’ll live to a hundred."

Shane Warner raised his hand to knock her head: "When you’re ninety-nine, I’ll be a hundred and seven."

"I don’t care, you definitely can’t die before ."

Listening to her nonsensical talk, Shane Warner was sowhat amused and asked her, "Why?"

Audrey Sutton’s response was imdiate: "If you die and I live alone, how sad would that be? You’re different, hard-hearted, you’d just burn , scatter my ashes into the sea."

Shane Warner: "..."

Audrey Sutton: "If your health is good, maybe you can find another companion."

Shane Warner: "Is that what I am in your mind?"

Audrey Sutton thought about it and seriously said, "Pretty much, maybe out of goodwill you’d give a grand funeral."

"Stop talking."

"Why?"

"I feel like throwing you out. Shut your mouth and sleep!"

Audrey Sutton tucked herself under the blanket and mumbled aggrievedly, "You’re being fierce again."

...

Back at school for three days, there didn’t seem to be much unusual between Nolan Hawke and Barry Barrett, except Nolan Hawke hadn’t co to school looking for Barry Barrett, though she often heard them talking on the phone in the dorm.

Barry Barrett also ntioned that Nolan Hawke hadn’t visited her lately mainly because of being busy with work.

Audrey Sutton was a bit worried whether Nolan Hawke was genuinely busy or just keeping Barry Barrett as a fallback.

Yet she hadn’t found any concrete evidence that Nolan Hawke really was a scumbag, so she didn’t know whether she should advise Barry Barrett.

After all, Barry Barrett really liked Nolan Hawke, which made Audrey Sutton conflicted.

April had been hot for a few days, with temperatures reaching nearly thirty degrees, but today it cooled down.

The sky outside was gloomy, with overcast wind blowing.

Audrey Sutton dug her sweater out from the wardrobe, standing by the countertop, heating milk while sending a voice ssage to Shane Warner who was on a business trip: "Is it cold over there? Should I bring you so warm clothes?"

He’d been away for three days; when he left, it was still quite warm, so he hadn’t packed any warm clothes.

Since it was Saturday today, Audrey Sutton originally planned to visit him.

Looking at the ti, it was nearly nine o’clock, and Shane Warner hadn’t replied, possibly being busy.

Audrey Sutton had a simple breakfast before going upstairs to pack so clothes for him into a suitcase.

She had bought a train ticket, with departure at ten forty-sothing and the ride taking roughly an hour; if lucky, she’d be able to have lunch together.

This ti she wasn’t going to sneakily check up on him; they had discussed it last night.

Therefore, Audrey Sutton had his hotel address, and just as she was about to disembark from the train, Shane Warner texted her: Have you already arrived?

Audrey Sutton replied imdiately: I’m at the station. Should I go straight to the hotel?

Shane Warner: I’m not at the hotel right now, just co over for lunch, and then we’ll go back together.

Shane Warner promptly sent over the address of where he currently was.

Audrey Sutton: I have my suitcase with , let drop it off at the hotel then I’ll co find you.

Shane Warner: That’s fine, I’ll ask my friend to pick you up.

Audrey Sutton: No need, I’ve checked, there’s a subway from the station to the hotel. After dropping the stuff, I’ll co find you.

Shane Warner: Alright, don’t get lost.

Audrey Sutton: Who do you think you’re underestimating?

A few minutes later, arriving near a subway station close to the hotel, Audrey Sutton dragged her suitcase from the subway to the surface.

"Madam."

Upon hearing the voice, Audrey Sutton didn’t know whether it was directed at her, but instinctively looked up and was pleasantly surprised to find it was soone she knew: "Mr. Bishop?"

Julian Bishop simply nodded at her, stepped forward to take Audrey Sutton’s suitcase, and said plainly: "Shane asked to pick you up."

Audrey Sutton smiled, following Julian Bishop ahead: "Why aren’t you two together?"

Julian Bishop explained: "I went back to the hotel for files, just as Shane called to say you were coming, so he asked to pick you up."

Audrey Sutton "Oh"ed, then pondered and asked, "Did only you two co?"

Julian Bishop: "There are a few assistants as well."

"... All male?"

Julian Bishop was taken aback, as if surprised by Audrey Sutton asking such a question, but promptly answered truthfully: "Both male and female."

Audrey Sutton responded with another "Oh", observing Julian Bishop’s cool deanor, seemingly disinterested in her trivially boring questions, leaving Audrey Sutton to find nothing suitable to converse about, so she stopped talking.

If it were Faye Xavier or Luc, Audrey Sutton might have managed to chat a bit, but with Julian Bishop, she hadn’t interacted much, plus his cold personality made unfamiliar people wary of talking to him.

Probably because she was Shane Warner’s wife, he responded to her with a couple of sentences.

The hotel was right next to the subway station, a few hundred ters and a crossing away.

Julian Bishop first put the suitcase in the hotel room, then drove Audrey Sutton directly to et Shane Warner.

In the car, Audrey Sutton dared not chat with Julian Bishop, rely played on her phone with her head down.

At a green light, Julian Bishop glanced at Audrey Sutton; she happened to lift her head, and Julian Bishop imdiately shifted his gaze forward.

"Mr. Bishop, how long until we arrive?" Audrey Sutton asked.

Julian Bishop answered blandly, "Almost there."

After a two-second pause, he added, "Turn at the next intersection and we’ll be there."
