The destination was a high-end French cuisine sky restaurant. Taking the elevator to the top of the building, Audrey Sutton followed Julian Bishop into the restaurant.

She had seen a lot in her life, but the luxury of this restaurant still left Audrey Sutton speechless.

If Julian Bishop hadn’t been there, walking in by herself her steps would have felt unsteady.

The restaurant was larger than she’d imagined. After passing the outer hall, she walked further in, looking at the panoramic views outside the window, feeling as if she’d entered a heavenly scene set among the clouds, so beautiful it felt unreal.

Walking down the corridor, she pushed open a pair of wooden doors and discovered a room full of flowers, like an untouched secret garden. Amidst the flora, there was a long dining table surrounded by about ten people, with Shane also there, standing and waving to her, signaling her to co over.

Because of Shane’s gesture, everyone’s gaze fell on Audrey Sutton, making her feel sowhat embarrassed.

Before coming, she thought Shane was likely dining with clients or sothing, inviting her to join. But she hadn’t expected such a formal occasion, nor had she dressed appropriately.

Looking at the people around the table, the n were all in formal suits and the won in professional attire, all appearing ticulously dressed. There were also two Western won in more elaborate evening gowns—all of them dressed to impress.

But Audrey Sutton hadn’t thought much about this beforehand, just wearing casual clothes from the car—a warm sweater pulled from the closet due to the morning chill, paired with black pants and white sneakers, holding a black coat she brought for Shane.

On the street, it seed youthful and trendy, but here it clearly felt out of place.

Especially recalling Clarissa Morgan mocking her clothes before, saying she embarrassed Shane.

So this ti, Audrey Sutton lowered her head slightly, without her usual confidence.

Under everyone’s gaze, Audrey Sutton walked to Shane’s side and sat in the empty seat he reserved for her.

Luckily, no one brought the conversation to her.

Since the clients were foreigners, they conversed in French. Audrey Sutton could understand simple phrases, but was lost on work-related topics—not just because it was French; she wouldn’t grasp the content in Chinese either, so she quietly ate.

The waiter ca to serve dishes, presenting a plate of elegantly arranged at in front of each person.

Audrey Sutton didn’t know what type of at it was, but it was only a small portion. She picked up her fork, ready to try it.

Just as her fork reached the edge of the plate, a hand stretched over and took the plate away.

Confused, Audrey Sutton turned to see Shane taking away her plate, placing the piece of at onto his own plate.

French dishes typically had small portions and took forever to serve, and dining etiquette usually ant eating one’s own.

Audrey Sutton gave Shane a displeased look. Shane returned her empty plate and softly said, "Lobster at. You can’t eat it."

Upon hearing this, Audrey Sutton understood his intentions, but she had craved seafood for a long ti: "Eating a little bit wouldn’t hurt."

"Not eating a little bit doesn’t matter either." As he spoke, he popped the lobster at into his mouth.

Audrey Sutton let out a small "humph," and took a sip from her fruit wine.

Later, when snails were served, Shane gave two snails from his plate to her, which made Audrey Sutton feel compensated.

The others at the table were talking about work, and no one paid attention to what they were doing.

After eating and drinking her fill, these people were still discussing business, with no signs of leaving soon.

She played with her phone and suddenly saw the "Scumbag Palmistry Detection Chart" sent by Seraphina Vaughn in their dorm group chat, shifting her gaze to Shane’s hands.

Audrey Sutton quietly tugged at his sleeve under the table. Shane glanced sideways at her, and Audrey Sutton whispered, "Give your hand."

Uncertain of her intentions, Shane lowered his hand from the table, allowing her to play with it, while continuing to listen to the discussions.

Audrey Sutton placed his hand on her leg, comparing the palm lines against the images on her phone.

His hands were large, slender with discernible bones, and clean palm lines that matched up. Audrey Sutton breathed a sigh of relief, finding none of the so-called "scumbag" lines on the chart images.

Despite not knowing if the chart’s judgnts were reliable, Audrey Sutton felt ntally reassured.

"Are you reading my fortune?" Shane asked her softly.

Hearing his voice, Audrey Sutton looked up and smiled at him, nodding: "Yes."

"What did you find?"

Audrey Sutton analyzed mock-seriously: "It says you’ll et a girl nad Audrey Sutton, who is your destined love; you should cherish her."

Shane chuckled, reversing his grip to hold her hand in his palm: "Are you tired?"

Audrey Sutton shook her head. Although she was used to taking a nap at noon, with him by her side, sleep mattered less; she just felt sowhat bored here.

Unable to understand what they discussed, with Shane working, she couldn’t ask him to keep her company, so she played by herself.

Shane seed to notice her boredom, saying, "We’ll leave soon, but I need to handle sothing outside. You go back to the hotel and wait for , okay?"

Audrey Sutton didn’t ask where he was going, nor did she say she wanted to join him. She simply nodded obediently, handing him the black coat resting on her legs, saying, "Take this with you."

Shane wasn’t actually cold. Despite the temperature drop, he spent most of his ti indoors or in the car, but since she had traveled far just to bring this coat for him, it wasn’t rely about the coat—it was her love for him.

During the days separated by his business trip, she sent ssages every day saying she missed him.

Ever since she expressed her feelings to him, she no longer held back, constantly conveying her affection, becoming even clingier than before. Even when apart, she’d often send ssages saying how much she missed him.

In truth, he missed her too. Hearing her plan to visit last night, he was so delighted he couldn’t sleep.

After finishing his work, Shane first took Audrey Sutton back to the hotel, then left with Julian Bishop.

Now, Audrey Sutton was not as before, always overthinking if he was eting other won or not—she trusted him much more.

Lying on the hotel’s large bed, she played a couple of gas, winning one and losing another, feeling it’s not as fun without Shane. Then she set down her phone and slipped into the covers, soon falling asleep.
