Now reading: Chapter 338: Mind Your Own Business from Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!, a Romance novel by The Beginning of Prosperity.

Audrey Sutton rembered that Shane once told her a principle: In love, she didn’t need to change herself just to please him.

Later, Audrey also ca to understand this: you can love soone with all your heart, but don’t lose yourself in love.

While loving others, you also have to love yourself twice as much.

When you feel unloved, it’s best to leave decisively.

"But I really, really love him." Chloe Swift clung to Audrey Sutton, crying uncontrollably. "When I signed the divorce papers, my hands were shaking, but he didn’t show any reluctance. After the procedures were done, he didn’t even say take care, he just left..."

Audrey Sutton quietly listened to Chloe Swift’s grievances. When any kind of solace seed futile, quietly listening might be the greatest comfort.

Audrey Sutton thought that perhaps no one was to bla for the marriage reaching this point; rather, they should never have been together from the start.

In the past, Audrey might have thought that Vincent Warner was a man who would stop at nothing for profit. But after her brother told her those words, she felt that Vincent had always been living in pain.

His parents had high expectations for him, obviously wanting from a young age to cultivate him into soone outstanding, putting a lot of pressure on him, hoping he could surpass Sean Warner and be favored by the old man.

In his parents’ eyes, his love was insignificant, and marriage was just a tool to asure value, which led to such an unhappy marriage.

With parents like that, one could imagine the son wasn’t very much loved by them either.

The kinship that should have been thicker than water neither brought him warmth but buried his love, which was probably why Vincent Warner always resisted Chloe Swift.

Perhaps he didn’t really dislike Chloe Swift; it was just his way of protesting against his parents.

Or maybe, he truly, deeply loved Stella Charlie, and no one else could replace her.

Chloe Swift drank more than half a bottle of red wine. It was the most Audrey Sutton had ever heard her speak.

She spoke of her grievances, reluctance, and indignation.

Although Chloe proposed the divorce herself, and it was a decision made after much hesitation, in her heart, when she told Vincent Warner about it, she had still hoped he would ask her to stay.

Thinking that nearly a year of marriage would leave him with so nostalgia, even if he only replied, "Have you thought it through?"

She would imdiately abandon the idea.

But he only calmly and coldly replied with a "fine," without the slightest hesitation, as if he had been waiting for this mont for a long ti.

Crushing her last bit of hope.

Chloe Swift drank enough to be slightly tipsy, slumped over on the sofa, muttering with knitted brows.

Audrey Sutton sighed softly, settled Chloe on the sofa, and covered her with a thin blanket, quietly tidying up the plates and cups on the coffee table.

By noon, Shane ca ho for lunch. Seeing Chloe slumped on the sofa, he frowned and silently used his eyes to question Audrey Sutton, who was cooking at the counter.

Audrey Sutton made a shushing gesture with her finger and softly said to Shane, "She’s drunk. Let her rest for a bit."

Seeing the weary and haggard look when Chloe arrived, Audrey felt she hadn’t had a proper rest for a long ti.

Shane hung his jacket on the wall hook and walked over to Audrey, asking, "Why did she co here?"

Audrey explained, "You might have seen the news, right? She divorced Mr. Warner and ca to talk with because she’s in a bad mood."

With a frown, Shane discontentedly said to Audrey, "Who’s your brother?"

Audrey glanced at him and corrected herself: "I misspoke. She divorced Vincent."

Shane: "Don’t ddle in other people’s affairs, and don’t let just anyone into our ho."

"Clarissa just ca over to chat. Why are you so tense?" Audrey knew that Shane’s wariness might stem from his fear that Vincent might hurt her because, in Shane’s mind, his brother was hard by Vincent.

Audrey handed the spatula to Shane and said, "Taste it. It’ll be ready to plate after a bit more stir-frying. I’ll go call her to eat."

Shane sighed, took the spatula from Audrey, and watched her remove her apron, casually putting it on him before heading to the sofa to check on Chloe.

Thinking that Chloe hadn’t done anything wrong all along and had never had a good relationship with Vincent, Shane didn’t harbor as much hostility towards her, as she wasn’t likely a spy planted by Vincent.

Audrey woke Chloe up, but she didn’t stay for lunch.

She said she wasn’t hungry and thanked Audrey before leaving.

Worried about her drinking, Audrey asked Shane to call a driver to take her ho.

Audrey stood by the roadside, watching Chloe leave.

Seeing Chloe’s low spirits, Audrey was quite worried about her because she had heard that Chloe suffered from depression. She feared Chloe wouldn’t be able to co out of the pain of divorce and might think of sothing bad.

"Co eat; the food’s getting cold." Shane pulled her back into the house.

Audrey picked up her bowl and chopsticks, sitting opposite Shane, eating while saying, "Actually, at first, our situation was quite similar to theirs. We didn’t marry for love."

Shane put a chicken wing into her bowl, seemingly wanting to stop her from talking, "How it started doesn’t matter. Cherishing the present does."

Audrey pursed her lips, put down her chopsticks, and directly picked up the chicken wing with her hand, gnawing on it, "There were several tis I thought we’d divorce. I was really afraid you’d bring it up after Grandpa passed away."

"Put sothing sensible in your head, don’t constantly think of this and that for no reason. Also, I’ve scheduled a hospital check-up for tomorrow morning."

"Your follow-up? Didn’t the doctor say to go at the end of the month?"

Shane: "For your check-up."

Audrey was clueless: "What am I being examined for?"

Shane: "To check why there’s still no movent in your belly."

Audrey felt slightly shy and glared at him, "It’s not just my problem, and this is also about fate."

Shane paused his actions of picking up food, eyeing her, "So you an I’m the one not capable?"

"No, I an it depends on chance. It’s not just because you want sothing that it will happen. Just let it be."

"Checking it gives us peace of mind, see what’s lacking, so we can supplent in advance, to avoid difficulties during pregnancy due to poor health."

"Alright, but I feel my health is good."

Shane: "So people look perfectly healthy on the outside yet are quite weak within."

Audrey frowned unhappily, "Where am I fat? I’m even below three digits!"

Shane: "I didn’t an you when I said so people. And why have you lost weight? Are you dieting?"
