Now reading: Chapter 425: Still, You Care About Me from Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!, a Romance novel by The Beginning of Prosperity.

The others probably returned early, leaving only Faye Xavier to take care of Shane Warner over there, so now I only see Faye accompanying him out.

Shane Warner quickly locked onto Audrey Sutton in the crowd, walked straight towards her, and asked with a light smile, "Did you miss ?"

Audrey Sutton rolled her eyes at him: "You ignored the doctors’ orders? What if sothing happens?"

After speaking, Audrey scolded Faye: "And you too, who asked you to sign him out of the hospital?"

Faye looked innocent and wronged: "Sis, you can’t bla . I tried to stop him, said everything I could, but Master Shane wouldn’t listen and forced to sign."

Audrey groaned in frustration: "So who do you listen to, him or ?"

Shane Warner chuckled and replied: "Whoever pays the salary, that’s who."

Faye: "I’m having a hard ti."

Shane Warner hugged Audrey: "Alright, calm down. I’ll just lie in bed when I get ho."

Audrey Sutton: "I don’t have ti to take care of you."

Shane Warner: "Well, the doctor said the wound hasn’t fully healed. If it tears and gets infected, it’ll be a hassle."

Audrey Sutton: "That serves you right."

Shane Warner: "It might serve right, but won’t you be the one heartbroken?"

Audrey Sutton stomped off angrily: "Heartbroken my foot, a little flesh wound won’t kill you. Do whatever you want."

Shane Warner followed beside her casually, gently tugged her arm, pulling her towards another direction: "Honey, the car’s parked over here."

Audrey Sutton "hmph"ed, still marched forward without even glancing at Shane Warner.

Once in the car, she turned her head to look out the window, ignoring him.

Shane Warner found her deanor both adorable and amusing.

Why was he so eager to leave the hospital? Just so he could see her every day.

"Hiss~" In the silent car, Shane Warner discreetly gasped in pain, and Faye sitting in the passenger seat imdiately turned to check on him: "You okay, Master Shane?"

Audrey Sutton’s head was still turned, but her eyes subtly glanced at Shane Warner, obviously concerned about his condition.

Shane Warner kept observing Audrey’s reactions, not missing even the slightest expression.

He clasped his wound, looking pained and suffering, and asked Faye: "Any painkillers left?"

Faye paused: "...The doctor didn’t prescribe any. Is the wound torn? Why not go straight to the hospital?"

Seeing his seemingly pained expression, Audrey Sutton shifted uneasily, turning to him, observing him for a couple of seconds, as if to confirm whether he was pretending.

Watching Shane Warner with furrowed brows, lips tightly pursed like he was too pained to speak, Audrey realized the seriousness and stopped arguing, urgently asking: "Are you okay?"

As she spoke, she reached to remove his hand from the lower abdon, lifted his suit jacket, and tugged the shirttail from under the belt: "Let see."

Shane Warner quietly chuckled, looking down at her worried face, his features relaxed, no sign of the previous agony.

Seeing Shane Warner’s expression, Faye realized he had been fooled too.

Shane Warner cooperated with Audrey, raised his body a bit to help her lift his shirt, revealing the surgical scar on his abdon.

Clean without bleeding or infection, no visible problem, Audrey raised her head and asked him: "Is it the wound that hurts?"

Shane Warner smiled: "Seems like."

Seeing his smile, Audrey paused, frowned, realizing she had been tricked, glared fiercely at Shane Warner, then smacked his belly: "Annoying!"

"Hiss — Now that hurt for real."

Audrey knew her strength wasn’t heavy, flicked his shirt tails, distanced herself to lean against the car window, ignoring him.

Shane Warner didn’t bother organizing his clothes, laughing, nearing her side, reaching to hold her: "See, you still care about ."

Audrey gazed out the window, muttering: "I don’t want to talk to you."

Shane Warner chuckled, tucked her stray hair behind her ear, and gently asked: "What did you an the other day about Phillip Keating?"

Now that he shifted to serious matters, the sulking Audrey Sutton eased her spirits, turned to him, but instead of answering, asked Faye: "Brother Xavier, do you know soone nad Phillip Keating?"

Faye paused, recalled for two seconds: "Seems familiar, wouldn’t rember without you ntioning, what’s up with him?"

Audrey Sutton: "Mor bought a company making radio dramas, and Phillip Keating works there. I accompanied Flora for an interview and ran into him. He looks just like the person who delivered a letter to that day."

Faye looked puzzled: "Delivered letter? What letter?"

Shane Warner told Faye: "Look into his information, especially his previous social connections."

Faye: "Master Shane, didn’t this person deal with you abroad before? Said he was your brother’s classmate, even worked at Mr. Bishop’s company for a while."

Shane Warner furrowed his brow, clearly couldn’t recall this person.

Phillip Keating seed to be one of those unremarkable people in the crowd, having a rather tight-knit relationship with Faye and them, probably unnoticed by many at the ti, only by ntioning his na could mories of working with him surface.

Audrey originally intended to discuss Lan Irving, but with Faye in the car, considering Faye and Lan’s relatively special relationship, it wasn’t appropriate to voice her suspicions in front of him.

So after the driver sent Faye to the company first, on the way ho, Audrey discussed with Shane Warner: "I’ve always suspected that the person behind this might know sothing about your brother’s affairs. Now everything seems linked to Lan Irving. She’s been with you for so many years, must know a lot about you and your brother, and Phillip Keating worked with her before, so I suspect she’s the one instructing Phillip Keating to do these things... what do you think?"

Shane Warner nodded, he had doubted Lan Irving since she emailed him, now with Phillip Keating erging, if Lan indeed orchestrated this, catching Phillip Keating could provide a proper reason to interrogate Lan.

He also acknowledged Faye’s considerations about Lan Irving, and since Faye is a longti friend, he’d be sowhat mindful of his feelings in handling Lan’s issue.

Without proper reason or concrete evidence, blaming Lan on re speculation might not provoke verbal resentnt from Faye, but he’d likely harbor silent grievances.
