Originally, Shane Warner promised to co back in two days, but he broke his word again. Audrey Sutton grumbled discontentedly into the phone, "How many more days do you need? Your birthday is coming up soon."
She could hardly keep her little secret to herself any longer and was eager to tell him.
Shane Warner: "I’ll definitely be back before my birthday. Wait for at ho, and by the way, I heard from your brother that you keep dozing off in class?"
Audrey Sutton didn’t admit her fault, instead, she said, "Then you can co back and scold ."
Shane Warner chuckled, "Do you really think I can’t catch you? We’ll see about that when I get back."
Audrey Sutton giggled, her tone playful, "I’m just afraid that when you co back, you won’t bear to scold ."
Shane Warner: "Don’t forget the ’howork’ I assigned you. I’m going to check it when I get back, so prepare well."
Audrey Sutton: "You keep bringing this up! Every ti you call, you ntion it!"
Shane Warner: "When the ti cos, don’t expect to be lenient if anyone tries to make excuses."
Audrey Sutton now had leverage and wasn’t afraid of his threats; she teased him fearlessly, "Am I the kind of person who makes excuses? Hurry back, I’m all alone every day, and it’s so lonely."
Just hearing Audrey Sutton’s affected and coquettish pout left Shane Warner a bit overwheld, "Speak properly, I have to get to a eting soon."
Audrey Sutton got serious, "Alright, I won’t disturb you then. I’ll go work on my draft. Take good care of yourself, I heard it’s quite cold there, so dress warmly and don’t go around in a thin suit just to look cool and attract attention."
Shane Warner: "Got it, when did it beco your turn to nag ? You better be careful yourself, it’s been raining a lot lately, don’t forget to bring an umbrella when you go out."
"Master Shane, everyone’s here, just waiting for you," Faye Xavier’s voice urged Shane Warner to enter the eting room.
Audrey Sutton said, "Then you should go, shall I hang up?"
Shane Warner: "Kiss ."
Audrey Sutton: "... How am I supposed to do that?"
Shane Warner: "Pucker your lips and kiss."
Audrey Sutton rolled her eyes at the air, amused by Shane Warner’s childishness, and made a kissing sound over the phone, "Mua!"
She heard him chuckle softly, "Alright, I’ll get to work."
Audrey Sutton shalessly said, "You haven’t kissed yet."
She wanted to hear Shane Warner make a kiss sound too, imagining his cool face making such a cute sound was quite charming.
But Shane Warner didn’t fulfill her expectation, "I’ll return it to you in person when I get back."
With that, he hung up the phone.
Audrey Sutton lay lazily on the sofa, touching her still flat stomach, feeling it hadn’t changed much from before. However, just thinking that there was a little baby inside filled her with a sense of wonder.
"Ding dong—"
Upon hearing the doorbell, Audrey Sutton was startled, got up from the sofa, and while walking toward the door, she wondered who it might be. If Phoebe King was coming, she would usually call in advance.
Audrey Sutton didn’t open the door hastily; she checked the monitor next to the door to see who was outside before she opened it, "Mor? Why are you here?"
Lucian Quinn was carrying a large bag, "Shane asked to buy so groceries and fruits and bring them over."
"He asked you to buy them?" Audrey Sutton quickly stepped aside to let Lucian Quinn in, "I can just buy these things myself when I need them. Why did he trouble you?"
Lucian Quinn smiled and said, "Shane was just worried there might not be anything left in the fridge since he hasn’t been back for days."
"Really sorry for the trouble, Mor. My family just sent so fruit a couple of days ago, there’s a huge pile on the coffee table, I can’t finish it all by myself."
Lucian Quinn just smiled, and placed the groceries near the fridge as Audrey Sutton directed.
"Would you like to sit down and rest a bit? I could pour you a glass of water," she offered.
Lucian Quinn politely declined with a slight smile, "No, that’s okay. I have to head back to the company soon."
Audrey Sutton thought for a mont and asked, "Are you going to that broadcasting company?"
Lucian Quinn: "Yes."
Audrey Sutton thought for a mont and said, "Flora ntioned she’s doing a recording there this afternoon, should I pack so fruit for you to take to her on your way?"
Lucian Quinn hesitated for a mont before nodding, "Sure."
Audrey Sutton quickly found a small basket, and as she packed the fruits from the coffee table, she said, "Mor, Flora works at your place, so I hope you take good care of her."
Lucian Quinn just gave an "Mm" in reply.
Audrey Sutton actually wanted to gather so gossip, but it was clear she wouldn’t get anything out of Lucian Quinn, better to ask Flora directly.
Audrey Sutton filled up the basket, covered it with an off-white cloth, and handed it over to Lucian Quinn, "Thanks a lot."
Lucian Quinn accepted it with an outstretched hand, "Then I’ll get going. If you need anything, just give a call."
Audrey Sutton: "Okay, take care Mor, be careful on the way."
As she watched Lucian Quinn leave, Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but imagine the scene when he gave the fruit to Flora.
Audrey Sutton could tell Lucian Quinn definitely had a bit of interest in Flora, but Flora hadn’t ntioned him recently, and she wasn’t sure how things were progressing between them.

Flora had already been inford that Audrey Sutton was sending so fruit to her at the company but didn’t expect that the delivery person would be Lucian Quinn.
Lucian Quinn had appeared at the company a few tis already. Everyone knew he was one of the bosses, and since he was young and quite handso, he was often the subject of idle office chatter.
There weren’t few young won in the company who fantasized about becoming the boss’s lady.
Flora had a broad vocal range and could perform various types of voice acting. Recently following a radio drama, she caught the eye of another voice-over team, currently dubbing the female lead for a series.
When Lucian Quinn arrived, Flora was in the break room next to the recording studio, practicing with her script.
Engrossed in practice, she didn’t notice the murmuring voices in the hallway outside.
Lucian Quinn stood beside the break room door, watching her for a long ti, listening to her voice acting. She was just delivering lines where the female lead confessed to the male lead.
Her voice carried hints of courage, anxiety, expectation, and shyness.
"Boss?" a staff mber called to Lucian Quinn standing by the door.
That’s when Flora turned to look at the doorway, and upon seeing Lucian Quinn, she froze.
"Flora, get ready; it’s almost ti for your recording session." The staff mber, a young man around twenty-five or six, told Flora and then turned back to Lucian Quinn, "Boss, do you need anything?"
