Lucian Quinn was still lingering on Flora Lane’s recent lines. He paused for a couple of seconds before answering the male staff mber’s question: "I need to talk to Miss Lane for a bit."

The staff mber looked a bit perplexed and glanced at the two of them. Then he reminded Flora Lane that the recording would start in about ten minutes before smiling at Lucian Quinn and turning away.

Lucian Quinn walked into the room and casually closed the door of the lounge.

Flora Lane watched him co over, swallowed hard, and imdiately stood up from the sofa in a respectful manner to greet Lucian Quinn: "Boss."

Lucian Quinn nodded, walked over to her and said casually, "Sit."

Seeing Lucian Quinn sit down on a single sofa nearby, Flora Lane finally dared to sit again, watching as Lucian placed the small bamboo basket he was carrying onto the coffee table. She felt that the basket seed sowhat incongruous with him and didn’t quite understand what was inside.

"Are you getting used to work?" Lucian Quinn asked.

Flora Lane glanced at him, looking extrely uncomfortable, and replied with a forced smile, "It’s... okay, I’ve learned a lot from my seniors."

Lucian Quinn pointed with his chin at the basket on the coffee table and said, "Audrey packed so fruit for you, I brought it along since I ca to the company for an inspection."

Flora Lane’s eyes widened in surprise, almost dropping her jaw, and she stuttered slightly, "Th-thank you."

She hadn’t expected that the person delivering fruit for her was her boss.

Although she had a good relationship with Audrey Sutton and Lucian Quinn was willing to help Audrey, after all, he was her boss. Delivering fruit to the company seed a bit exaggerated to Flora Lane.

Lucian Quinn: "What ti do you get off work in the afternoon?"

Flora Lane looked at Lucian Quinn in confusion, always feeling like he was trying to date her sohow. He had already thrown out several olive branches, but she had tactfully declined them all.

"...I record late at night, probably around ten o’clock."

Lucian Quinn: "I finish around the sa ti. Call when you’re off, I need to discuss sothing with you."

Flora Lane: "..."

Lucian Quinn: "You have my number saved, right?"

Flora Lane: "...I think it’s still in the call log."

Lucian Quinn: "Save it, it’ll be easier to get in touch later."

Flora Lane nodded awkwardly.

Lucian Quinn looked at her for a few seconds; Flora Lane thought he had more to say. But after a mont of silence, he just got up and left the lounge.

As Flora Lane watched Lucian Quinn walk out, she let out a long breath.

Flora Lane didn’t know what was wrong with her. In the past, she didn’t hesitate to chat up rich and handso guys, but now that such a guy had co her way, she chickened out, turning into a timid turtle repeatedly without daring to fantasize about anything.

Because she felt that being with Lucian Quinn was unrealistic.

But since he was talking to her in his capacity as a boss, she didn’t dare to defy anything, especially because he hadn’t explicitly shown intentions to pursue her.

But Flora Lane wasn’t so naive girl either. She was aware of certain things and just didn’t have the guts to break the thin barrier between them.

She lifted the cloth covering the basket and ate a few cherries, cleared her throat, and went to the recording studio.

Busy all afternoon, she ate box als with everyone at the company. During dinner, Flora Lane saw a ssage from Audrey Sutton sent to her in the afternoon, asking: Flora, is the fruit sweet?

Flora Lane replied irritably: You little brat, did you do this on purpose?

Audrey Sutton was eating dinner while watching TV in the living room. Seeing Flora Lane’s reply, she smiled and pressed down the voice ssage button to say: "Flora, why don’t you appreciate it? It’s fruit from our orchard, all picked the ripest ones."

Flora Lane: "You know what I’m talking about!"

Audrey Sutton: "Hehe, what did Mor say to you?"

Flora Lane: "Nothing much, stop creating trouble!"

Audrey Sutton: "I thought you two might spark sothing, don’t you think he likes you?"

Flora Lane: "I do, but there’s no possibility between us."

Audrey Sutton: "Why not? He fits your criteria for a partner, plus he clearly likes you. I always feel like he bought this company because of you. Think about it, why would he choose a broadcasting company that’s completely unrelated to his usual industry among so many options?"

Flora Lane wasn’t shocked or overwheld because she didn’t dare to entertain the thought. She replied to Audrey Sutton irritably: "He’s a businessman with a mind for economics. He probably saw that this field was making money."

Audrey Sutton: "I don’t think so. Mor isn’t the kind of person who chases money. If it was really for profit, he would’ve bought it long ago. Why specifically a broadcasting company now? I see it as part of his plan to woo you."

Flora Lane’s colleagues approached, so she switched from voice ssages to texting Audrey Sutton: To be honest, that’s what I think too, but I dare not be with him. I feel inferior in front of him.

Before Audrey Sutton could reply, Flora Lane continued: A while back, a male voice actor working on a radio drama with was obviously pursuing . He added on WhatsApp and texted every day, even invited to two movies on weekends. But a couple of days later, he completely changed, stopped contacting on WhatsApp, no more invitations for als or movies, and even avoided at the company. I suspect Lucian Quinn spoke to him about it.

Audrey Sutton chuckled with an "aunt’s smile": "See, Mor truly likes you, and I find it pretty romantic. You two are quite suited for each other. You shouldn’t worry about inferiority and such. Love is about the two of you. Mor chose you because he doesn’t care about those things. If love cos knocking, can you really turn it away?"

Flora Lane: Let’s see, he hasn’t confessed yet, might be self-deception? I still have work tonight, so let’s talk later.

During dinner, Flora Lane still overthought Lucian Quinn’s request to contact him after work. He said he had sothing to discuss, but she had no idea what.

Once imrsed in her role, Flora Lane focused entirely on work, leaving no room for these thoughts.

Because the deadline was tight, everyone worked overti until past ten at night.

"Thanks for your hard work today, shall we go out for so night beers?" suggested the departnt’s supervisor.

With the company full of young people, hearing this made everyone forget about work fatigue and start discussing where to eat.

Flora Lane hesitated then said: "I won’t be joining you guys, I have classes tomorrow, need to go ho and rest early."

As soon as Flora Lane finished talking, there was a chorus of complaints from the male colleagues: "Without the beautiful Flora, what’s the point of even drinking?"
