Barry Barrett: "But recently I really haven’t seen them together at school much. Wasn’t Quentin Sterling always coming to school to pick up Clarissa Morgan before?"
Flora: "Doesn’t your Third Young Master have a bit of a friendship with Quentin Sterling? Why don’t you go back and ask around to see if it’s true?"
Audrey Sutton puffed her cheeks and sighed, "Every ti I ask him about these things, he tells not to ddle. I barely talk to him about these things now, afraid he’ll think I’m petty, lacking grace, always gossiping about others’ private lives."
Barry Barrett looked at Audrey Sutton with a smile and said, "Oh, co on, your Third Young Master would be willing to reach for the stars for you, would he even care about such little gossip you ask?"
Audrey Sutton: "n don’t seem to care much about these things. When I ask him, he probably doesn’t know either. But if he wanted to find out, he surely could. Just afraid he doesn’t want to ask."
Flora coldly comnted: "Not every man dislikes gossip. That brother of your Third Young Master loves to eavesdrop on gossip at the company."
Audrey Sutton, with aningful laughter, said, "Who’s this brother of my Third Young Master? Just say President Quinn! Why go through such a roundabout way?"
Seraphina Vaughn: "Oh Flora, just stop pretending. He’s pursuing you so persistently. Why not give him a chance? At worst, it’s just a breakup. It’s not like you’re lacking in experiences."
Flora: "Why are you all standing up for him?"
Audrey Sutton: "Because we’re considering what’s best for you. To be honest, Mor is much more reliable than the guys you previously dated. Besides, he’s the one pursuing you now. This is a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity!"
Barry Barrett: "Don’t act prideful now. If he changes his mind later or so other woman swoops in, where will you find regret then?"
Hearing this, Flora scoffed, but her tone was a bit lacking in confidence, "Will I regret? I wish he’d just change his mind already."
Audrey Sutton: "You’re just being dramatic."
Barry Barrett sighed dramatically, "Oh, what a good man. All that deep affection gone to waste. If he fancied , that’d be great."
Flora: "Get out of here."
Barry Barrett teasingly laughed, "Why are you so against it? You don’t like him, but I’m not allowed to?"
"Buzz—buzz—buzz—" Flora’s phone, charging on the table, started ringing. Seraphina Vaughn, who was closer to the table, stretched out to grab it for her, saw the na on the screen, and smiled aningfully, "President Quinn is looking for you."
Flora was taken aback, face slightly flushed as she reached for the phone.
Barry Barrett curiously leaned in, "Put it on speaker, put it on speaker."
Flora gave Barry Barrett a sidelong glance and stared at the phone, seemingly hesitating about whether to answer or perhaps organizing her thoughts.
Suddenly, Barry Barrett reached out and swiped to answer the call, quickly pressing the speaker button. The next mont, Lucian Quinn’s gentle voice ca through the phone, "Took you so long to answer, were you sleeping?"
Audrey Sutton and Barry Barrett exchanged smiling glances, then watched Flora, usually so forthright, show a rare mont of shyness, softly coughed, and then stamred, "Oh... no... Is there sothing you need, President Quinn?"
Lucian Quinn: "I heard you called in sick, so I called to ask, what’s wrong? Have you gone to the hospital?"
Under the scrutinizing eyes of Audrey Sutton and others, Flora felt uncomfortable and wanted to quickly brush it off: "... Just a minor cold, took so dicine, feeling a bit drowsy. If there’s nothing else, President Quinn, I’ll hang up now."
Lucian Quinn: "Where are you? I’m near your place, how about I co over and check on you?"
Through the phone, Flora urgently shook her head, with a genuine sense of refusal, "No need, no need, thank you for your concern, President Quinn. I’m at school, no need to trouble you. I’ll be back to work soon."
However, Lucian Quinn seed to ignore her rejection, saying, "It’s not far from your school, a few minutes won’t delay anything. I’ve got so dicine that’s effective against the flu. I’ll bring it to you. You don’t have to co downstairs, just tell your dorm number, and I’ll have soone bring it up."
Flora: "Really no need. I’ve bought dicine. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, President Quinn. If there’s nothing else, I’m going to nap now."
Lucian Quinn paused for a mont and said, "Alright, rest well."
Flora imdiately reached to hang up the call, yet before she could even sigh in relief, Barry Barrett poked Flora’s forehead with a finger, "Flora, are you out of your mind? You chased after those jerks before, but now that you have a good guy, you’re not used to it?"
Flora frowned, pursed her lips, showing a look of confusion and hesitation, "I don’t know either, just feel uncomfortable around him, especially awkward."
Seraphina Vaughn: "I think you just like the bad boys, the worse they are, the more at ease you feel."
"Ding dong—" Audrey Sutton’s phone chid. Thinking it was a ssage from Shane Warner, she quickly leaned over to grab it. Seeing who the ssage was from, she grinned mischievously and held the phone in front of everyone. It was a ssage from Lucian Quinn: "Audrey, what’s your dorm number?"
While replying to Lucian Quinn’s ssage, Audrey Sutton said, "Flora, look how sincere he is. Just give him a chance. Happiness is right at your doorstep. Just open the door and sign for it. How can you refuse the delivery without even taking a look?"
Seraphina Vaughn: "And you call yourself a love expert? I think you don’t know what love is. Have any of your previous boyfriends cared for you like this?"
Barry Barrett: "Are you going? Are you going? If not, I will!"
Flora bit her lip, glancing at Audrey Sutton’s phone, and finally asked, "... Is he at school?"
Audrey Sutton: "Looks like it. Didn’t he say he was near your ho? You live quite close to school. Or just go to the balcony and have a look. He’s not coming up, probably just finds a girl classmate to run the stuff up to you and then leaves."
Flora was dazed, as if deep in thought.
Barry Barrett gave Flora a push, "What are you waiting for? Go on quickly, what if he leaves?"
Flora took a deep breath, seeming to have convinced herself after the rounds of advice from her friends. Resolute, she stood up and walked downstairs.
Barry Barrett jumped up to follow, "Let’s go, let’s go, let’s see."
Audrey Sutton got out of bed and the three stood in the hallway outside the dorm, looking toward the entrance. They watched as a black car parked by the road outside, and saw Lucian Quinn get out, casually stopped a passing girl, handed her the bag with dicine, said a couple of words, and saw the girl, smiling shyly and holding the dicine, run into the dorm hastily.
The girl went inside, while Lucian Quinn returned to his car, but Flora still hadn’t co out of the dorm...
