The receptionist, holding the disconnected phone, glanced apologetically in Seraphina Vaughn’s direction.
Seraphina also noticed her dilemma and walked over to ask, "What? He won’t see ?"
The receptionist explained, "The people from the secretary’s office said that President Bishop is in a eting in the conference room right now. Miss, perhaps you could co back later? Or... you could send a ssage to President Bishop’s personal phone."
Seraphina was montarily stunned, then rembered she had Julian Bishop’s number on her phone.
She returned to the sofa in the lobby’s rest area, found the number, and dialed it directly.
When Julian Bishop’s phone rang, he was standing on stage giving a talk.
Seeing it was an unfamiliar number, he only paused for a second, took just a second to hang up, and continued with what he was saying.
Seraphina stared at the disconnected call, frowning in surprise, never expecting the call to be hung up.
The receptionist brought her a glass of water, and Seraphina took the opportunity to ask, "How long do his etings usually last?"
After a mont’s hesitation, she answered, "Usually past ten, and sotis not until eleven."
Seraphina checked the ti; it was only a little past eight, which ant she would have to wait at least another hour if she waited for Julian to finish his eting.
She didn’t have that kind of patience and imdiately dialed the number again.
As Julian saw the number appear on the screen for the second ti, he paid more attention to it.
Just as he was almost done with his part, he signaled the head of the marketing departnt to take the stage, returned to the eting table, and answered the phone in a low voice, "Hello."
"It’s ."
Upon hearing this female voice, Julian was still a bit puzzled, "Who is this?"
Seraphina didn’t introduce herself on the phone, just said, "I’m in the lobby of your company downstairs, co down."
Listening to the voice on the phone, Julian still couldn’t discern who it was, but the fierce tone with a hint of command imdiately made him think of Seraphina Vaughn.
However, he wasn’t sure it was really Seraphina because after that journey ended, they had no further interaction, and besides, Seraphina seed to dislike him quite a bit. It made no sense for her to co to the company to find him.
Seeing that Julian didn’t respond, Seraphina impatiently urged, "I’m giving you five minutes only. If you don’t co down, I’ll never co looking for you again, and if anything happens in the future, don’t bla for not giving you a chance."
After saying this, Seraphina hung up the phone.
These words left Julian even more bewildered, unable to tell if it was truly urgent or soone was just playing a prank.
However, hearing that the person was in the company lobby, Julian decided to go down and take a look.
After briefly explaining to his assistant, he left the conference room alone.
Seraphina leisurely sat in the lobby, staring at the tir on her phone, watching the five minutes tick away second by second.
With a minute and a half left, a voice could be heard from afar, respectfully saying, "Hello, President Bishop."
Upon hearing this address, Seraphina imdiately shifted her gaze from the phone and turned her head towards the sound’s source.
She saw Julian stepping out from the elevator doors, glancing around the lobby.
Seraphina neither stood up nor waved at Julian, but with few people in the lobby, he quickly spotted Seraphina sitting on the sofa.
Confirming it was actually Seraphina, Julian was both surprised and a bit puzzled.
Curious why Seraphina would co to find him and what the words on the phone earlier ant?
"Sit down." Seraphina, with the air of a boss, gestured at the sofa opposite her.
Julian sat sideways, inquiring in a gentle voice, "Ms. Vaughn, you’re looking for ?"
Seraphina glanced around and asked, "Are you sure you want to talk here? Or should we move to a more private place?"
Julian furrowed his brow suspiciously, "Talk about what?"
Seraphina replied with ambiguity, "I think it’s sothing you wouldn’t want to go public. After all, you work here; spreading rumors wouldn’t be good for you."
Julian was even more perplexed but still complied with Seraphina’s suggestion, stood up, and said, "Let’s go to my office."
Seraphina picked up her purse and followed Julian to the elevator.
The receptionist was stunned and started gossiping with another colleague, "She must be his girlfriend, right? They seem to have an unusual relationship."
"President Bishop is such a workaholic; anyone important enough to interrupt his eting must be special."
"But President Bishop isn’t young anymore, so it’s natural for him to find a partner. That young lady earlier is quite pretty and matches President Bishop well."
"You two should stop speculating; they seed quite unfamiliar with each other, not like a couple."
"But it’s not like they’re here to discuss business either. Could it be so romantic debt President Bishop owes?"
"President Bishop isn’t like President Xavier or President Quinn. If a woman ca to the company crying and making a scene looking for President Xavier or President Quinn, it would be understandable, but President Bishop isn’t soone who sses around outside."
"Let’s wait and see; if she is President Bishop’s partner, he’s not soone who would hide it."
In Julian Bishop’s office, Seraphina unceremoniously sat down on the sofa by the coffee table. Julian asked, "Tea or water?"
"No need." After declining, Seraphina looked through her bag and said, "I won’t beat around the bush. Let’s talk openly."
Julian sat down, attentively looking at Seraphina, "Alright, go ahead."
Seraphina pulled the pregnancy test report from her bag and handed it to Julian, saying, "I’m here just to inform you of this matter, and you need to sign an agreent."
Julian took the report, took quite a while to react, "You’re pregnant?"
After a two-second pause, he tentatively asked, "...The girl from that night, was it you?"
Seraphina nodded in confirmation, "Yes, it was . I didn’t expect to get pregnant either."
The information was overwhelming; Julian didn’t know where to begin. Seraphina handed over a stack of docunts, with a bank card on top.
Seraphina, in a business-like manner, stated, "I’ve decided to have this child, but you don’t have to raise it. There’s five million in this card; consider it my paynt for your contribution. You’ll sign this agreent, and there will be no ties between us in the future. You and the child will also have no connection..."
Before Seraphina finished speaking, Julian couldn’t help but ask, "Then why did you co to find ?"
Seraphina pointed to the docunts in her hand, asserting as a matter of course, "To have you sign the agreent, to avoid any entanglent over the child in the future. My offer is generous enough; the child is mine, you don’t need to pay for child support, and I even give you five million. Consider it buying peace for both of us. After you sign the agreent, it’s as if I don’t exist, and this never happened. Can you do that?"
