Julian Bishop frowned and glanced at the docunt in front of him, then raised his eyes to look at Seraphina Vaughn, and asked lightly, "Do you think I, Seraphina Vaughn, will agree?"
Seraphina Vaughn paused, "Too little?"
Julian Bishop: "Do you think I’m short of money?"
Seraphina Vaughn: "Whether you’re short or not is your business. Anyway, I’m paying, which ans I don’t owe you anything."
Julian Bishop smiled, picked up the so-called agreent docunt, casually flipping through it, and said, "Turns out you ca just to buy yourself peace of mind."
Seraphina Vaughn: "If you want to see it that way, fine. In any case, this is only profitable for you, not a loss. Once you sign, just pretend I never ca."
Julian Bishop placed the agreent docunt back on the table, a thick stack of papers, clearly not having reviewed it carefully.
"Why do you always like using your subjective judgnt to guess what other people think?"
Seraphina Vaughn frowned at Julian Bishop, seeing him sit up straight, looking like he wanted to have a serious conversation, said, "Since it’s an agreent, you should ask for my opinion first, rather than relying on this long list of conditions you’ve set to order to sign."
Seraphina Vaughn thought Julian Bishop found the conditions not generous enough, and sarcastically said, "Don’t push it. I see you can work with The Warner, so you’re not short of money, nor a greedy person. Don’t think about blackmailing with this matter, you’ll find it backfires on you!"
Julian Bishop glanced calmly at Seraphina Vaughn’s abdon, speaking with a tone as if discussing work, unhurriedly saying, "You also said I’m not soone short of money or greedy, then you should ask what I need first, rather than always using money to solve problems."
Seraphina Vaughn frowned impatiently and asked, "Then what do you want?"
Julian Bishop: "Since you are pregnant with my child and have decided to give birth, I can’t just pretend that I don’t know anything."
Seraphina Vaughn had a bad premonition, her frown tightening, feeling this man wasn’t as easily dealt with as her gossiping friends had claid.
Julian Bishop: "The conditions you’ve laid out are only your own thoughts, not mine, nor the child’s."
Seraphina Vaughn: "What on earth do you want to say? Get to the point, stop beating around the bush."
Julian Bishop: "We’re not discussing marriage yet, but we can try to get along. After getting along, if..."
"You’re dreaming!" Seraphina Vaughn interrupted Julian Bishop before he finished.
"Hear out. If after we get along, it turns out it’s really not suitable, then we can renegotiate how to co-parent the child."
Julian Bishop’s tone remained calm and reasonable, without any overreaction.
Seraphina Vaughn realized Julian Bishop seed to be seriously discussing this, and she slightly adjusted her own emotions and tone, saying, "Then let’s skip the first step and go straight to discussing co-parenting."
Julian Bishop shifted the conversation, asking confused, "It seems you have always disliked , why is that?"
Seraphina Vaughn’s eyes focused, then snorted coldly, "Dislike is dislike, why does there have to be a reason?!"
Julian Bishop amiably said, "I feel like you have a prejudice against . If you think there’s sothing I’ve done wrong, you can tell directly."
Seraphina Vaughn quickly recalled and realized she couldn’t really pinpoint where exactly Julian Bishop was wrong.
So she answered, "You’re fine everywhere, just not my type, okay? Our stars don’t align, I advise you to just sign and not give yourself a hard ti."
Julian Bishop pushed the agreent docunt and the bank card back to Seraphina Vaughn, saying, "I don’t believe in superstition, and I won’t sign. Let be clear, my first priority is that I want to take responsibility for you and the child, and strive to give the child a complete family. If we determine we cannot get along, the last resort is to discuss a suitable way to co-parent the child."
Seraphina Vaughn: "I think you won’t give up until you see the end!"
Julian Bishop’s tone remained calm, saying, "If Ms. Vaughn insists on not considering my perspective, I can’t promise not to intrude on Ms. Vaughn’s life because of the child in the future. So Ms. Vaughn should think it over. You’re pregnant, it’s not suitable for you to be moving around. You have my contact information, contact after you’ve made up your mind, and I’ll co find you myself."
This last sentence made Seraphina Vaughn feel quite warm, but she always felt Julian Bishop was being pretentious.
She originally heard from those gossiping friends that Julian Bishop was easy to talk to, which is why she ca to discuss this matter with him.
But now it seems that those "unreliable" friends clearly misunderstood the ease of talking, how is this man easy to talk to?!
Seeing Julian Bishop’s firm attitude, he wasn’t soone easy to compromise with.
Seraphina Vaughn thought for a mont; if she just left now, the matter would only remain unsolved.
Julian Bishop glanced at his watch and said, "I left halfway through a eting, so if Ms. Vaughn has nothing else, I’ll have a driver take you ho. Think it over once you’re back, and call if needed, okay?"
Seraphina Vaughn was naturally impulsive, and if this matter dragged on, she’d continually be troubled.
As Julian Bishop stood up and took out his phone to contact the driver, Seraphina Vaughn asked, "So if things don’t work out after getting along, will you sign this agreent?"
Julian Bishop paused the motion of dialing, looked earnestly at Seraphina Vaughn, and said, "This agreent of yours is inherently unequal. The first step is for you and to try getting along, and only upon confirming it won’t work, do we proceed to discuss the child’s co-parenting."
Seraphina Vaughn: "Then give a straight answer, if things don’t work, how do you plan to co-parent? Don’t make promises you can’t keep."
Julian Bishop sat back in front of Seraphina Vaughn, picked up the agreent docunt, and calmly outlined, "Firstly, regarding custody, if you’ve clearly decided you want it, I will respect that. But if you later find raising a child isn’t as easy as imagined and want to change your mind, I’ll always be ready to take on that responsibility."
"Secondly, I won’t take any of the things you ntioned related to money."
"Lastly, no matter who has custody, the other party must be able to see the child when they wish, and the custodian shall cooperate."
The more Seraphina Vaughn listened, the tighter her brow furrowed.
What Julian Bishop said was mostly different from what was written in her agreent, except for the custody point.
She said, "Whether you take the money doesn’t matter. But my stance is, you and I shouldn’t have further involvent in the future. I won’t let the child know you are the father, so I can’t agree to your last point."
Julian Bishop quietly said, "That’s precisely the most unequal part of your agreent."
