Vanessa Sterling only found out she was pregnant from what Gwen Grant said.
Before Vanessa could even respond, Gwen went crazy and lunged at her, reaching out to yank at Vanessa’s hair.
Vanessa’s first reaction wasn’t to fight back, but to dodge.
"You howrecker! It’s all because of you that Miles turned into what he is now!"
Gwen grabbed Vanessa’s hair with one hand, and swung the other hand straight at Vanessa’s face.
Vanessa instinctively raised her hand to block, but Gwen was like a madwoman, shoving Vanessa hard against the doorfra, both hands clamping down on Vanessa’s neck: "Why don’t you just die?! Bitch!"
"Cough, cough—" Vanessa braced a hand against the door to steady herself. The force on her neck tightened and tightened. She raised her hands and shoved Gwen away with all her strength.
Gwen staggered back, her heel hitting the doorfra, and she fell backward...
Vanessa bent over, coughing. When she finally caught her breath, she saw Gwen sitting on the floor, clutching her stomach with a face twisted in pain.
Bright red blood gradually soaked through her skirt...

The elevator doors opened, and Miles Sterling rushed over, freezing for a second at the scene in front of him.
Then he stepped right past Gwen, who had fallen in a pool of blood, intending to check if Vanessa was hurt.

It was Vanessa who finally reacted, hurrying back inside to grab her phone and dial ergency services...
By the ti the paradics arrived, Gwen had already fainted on the floor.
Miles watched the whole thing with cold eyes and didn’t go to the hospital with the ambulance.
He didn’t care about Gwen, and he cared even less whether that baby lived or died.
To him, all of this was Gwen’s own fault, and that child should never have existed in the first place.
After hours of ergency treatnt, Gwen was out of danger, but they couldn’t save the baby.
