Chapter 131 -130 Broadcasting Rights
When Su Niannian and her team came out, their expressions were far from pleasant.
They had just survived a close call and hadn’t yet recovered their strength.
But to the onlookers, they appeared to be in the throes of despair for having botched their effort.
The gleeful students of Beishan College approached and addressed Su Niannian’s team, “Don’t be too upset. Once we’ve clinched first place, we can mail the provincial petition’s trophy to you.”
Su Niannian gave them a cold look but remained silent.
Chu Jia, already harboring feelings of guilt, couldn’t hold back on hearing Beishan College’s mockery, “Even if you do win first place by stealing someone else’s work, it would only bring shame to your school!”
The people from Beishan College laughed carelessly. “Ha-ha! Don’t put it so harshly. We didn’t steal anything; someone e-mailed us an excellent topic, and we saw no reason not to use it!”
Chu Jia was so angry she was lost for words.
“Without a topic, you must be in last place, right?” the people from Beishan College tilted their chins up, “Instead of wasting time here, you’d better hurry to book a flight with your teacher and save yourselves a night’s hotel fee.”
As they spoke, the teacher came out holding the ranking results.
The students instantly sat up straight, tense with anticipation, while those from Beishan College purposefully seated themselves in the front row.
Only the top ten teams from the provincial petition would qualify for the national contest.
With a total of twenty teams participating in the provincial petition, the oral defense round would eliminate the bottom five.
The teacher began to read the list, starting with the last place.
By the time the names of the five teams were read out, Chi Gui’s team had not been called.
The people from Beishan College were slightly surprised but didn’t take it to heart.
Su Niannian and her two teammates clutched their fists tightly, staring fixedly at the teacher’s lips, afraid they would miss hearing their team’s name, and equally afraid of hearing it called among the lower ranks.
The teacher read out another five teams, and still, there was no mention of Chi Gui’s team.
Now, not only the people from Beishan College were surprised, even Jiang Nuan couldn’t help but whisper, “Could those people from Chi Gui’s team have some connections with the judges? How did they manage to make it into the top ten?!”
Chi Yan glanced at Liu Yawei not too far away and spoke softly, “Our Nancheng Medical College is ranked second in the nation, after all. We don’t really feel pressured pared to those other schools.”
“They’ve reached their peak,” Su Qing added indifferently.
The difference between the top five and the rest was as vast as heaven and earth. It didn’t matter that their oral defense was conceived just half an hour before the petition; even with thorough preparation, they couldn’t have had any hope.

The teacher began announcing the rankings for the top five—
“Fifth place, Liu City Medical College, Pan Ge’s team!”
“Fourth place, Linfen Medical College, Luocheng’s team!”
“Third place, Nancheng Medical College, Chi Yan’s team!”
Upon hearing this, Chi Yan and her teammates all looked a bit troubled.
Their oral defense, which had been personally guided by Professor Li, had only secured third place!
“Second place, Beishan College, Liu Yang’s team!”
The faces of the four from Beishan College, full of pride and satisfaction, suddenly froze.
They were only second place?!

Su Niannian, Chu Jia, and Yi Rui finally let out a sigh of relief.
They had not let Sister Chi down after all!
Chi Gui remained calm amidst her excited, tearful teammates.
Her thoughts had already wandered off the petition to the uping international tug-of-war championship.
