Three Mountains City.

On the second wall, a patrolling soldier leaned against its weathered battlent, gazing down at the battlefield strewn with corpses.

Most of the bodies piling up high were from the Demon Race, but the occasional remnants of human warriors’ armor could be seen interspersed among them.

They had just repelled another wave of attacks from the Demon Race, but the cost was the destruction of the outermost wall’s final defensive barrier, leaving no chance for repair.

Even though there were two sturdier walls above, everyone knew that if the Demon Race continued their relentless consuming advance, Three Mountains City would undoubtedly fall within a month.

During the brief pause in battle, most soldiers slumped against the base of the wall, seizing this rare chance to catch their breath.

Yet, so elites like him continued their patrols between camps, scanning every figure, trying to spot any suspicious characters.

At the start of the battle, they could uncover Demon Race spies trying to infiltrate almost daily.

But under the ticulous scrutiny of patrolling soldiers like them, most of the infiltrators were uncovered and killed on the spot.

Recently, the frequency of spy appearances noticeably decreased, whether it was because they were thoroughly purged or the Demon Race realized it was futile.

However, turned away, suddenly called out to a soldier: "Hey, stop."

Though he did not recognize every person in the defense zone, his long patrol had etched an impression of the permanent soldiers nearby, and this face seed unfamiliar.

Such suspicion occurred occasionally, but being overly paranoid and abruptly disturbing other soldiers’ rest would only play into the Demon Race’s hands.

Thus, he didn’t imdiately alarm but remained on high alert.

His right hand rested on the hilt of his sword, maintaining a distance of seven or eight ters—enough to guard against sudden hostility and counter the charms of an Enchanting Demon.

The spiritual protection talisman on his chest, although a low-cost disposable item, was sufficient to buy him a few seconds to alert when facing a spiritual attack.

"You..."

Just as he was about to question, he suddenly t the violet pupils of the other.

Enchanting Demon!

He opened his mouth to shout but heard a snapping sound in his mind; the spiritual protection shattered instantly!

How could this be?

They had barely exchanged glances for a second!

His lips moved vainly, failing to emit any sound, as his consciousness gradually drifted into confusion beneath those eerie violet eyes.

Disguised as a soldier, Faya swiftly stepped forward, naturally placing a hand on the patrolling soldier’s shoulder, feigning a friendly conversation.

She was born with spiritual power different from ordinary demons; though not top-level, her talent in charm far exceeded her kindred, which was her confidence in swiftly piercing spiritual defenses.

After inquiring about the patrol range from the controlled soldier, Faya refrained from killing.

She leaned close to the soldier’s ear, whispering softly: "Good child, now forget everything that just happened and continue your patrol duty."

"Yes." The soldier replied seemingly normally, then turned and walked away.

Watching the departing back, a curve ford at the corner of Faya’s lips.

With her ticulous control over spiritual power, as long as the soldier wasn’t subjected to specialized spiritual detection within two hours, all traces of charm would vanish automatically, as if nothing ever occurred.

However, this small episode gave her a new understanding of Three Mountains City’s current vigilance, explaining why so many of her kind fell here; this infiltration mission was truly hell-level difficulty.

Yet, Faya still had confidence in her skills.

Faya remained confident in her abilities.

As long as she didn’t provoke the Sword Saint with the Sword Heart, she was confident she would get away safely.

Recalling her sisters who foolishly attempted to charm the Sword Saint and their town-wide screams when spiritually injured, Faya almost laughed aloud.

Even Prince required a sneak attack to harm such an existence, how could small beings like them ever touch this?

Faya possessed self-awareness and exercised more caution.

Charming a few soldiers to sow chaos was indeed easy, but such acts left heavy traces, making it hard to escape afterward.

While she contemplated her next plan, a passing Walking Fungus Magic Pet caught her attention.

Faya’s eyes glinted sharply, suddenly reaching out to grab the drifting fungal tendril from No. 9.

Facing the oblivious No. 9 Puki, she didn’t hesitate to cast charm!

Though lacking eye contact would slightly discount the effect, when dealing with a simple-minded Magic Pet, it posed no serious issue.

The next mont, Faya found herself standing upon an endless water surface, dumbfounded.

She sensed her own status, murmuring in disbelief: "This... is this a space of spiritual manifestation?"

What happened?

Whose spiritual space had she mistakenly entered?

It couldn’t possibly be that of the Walking Fungus, right?

Even among humans and Demon Race, only those with exceptionally powerful spiritual force had such space, and usually just a room or a trench with unique significance to the owner.

But what was this scene before her?

Below her was shallow water barely covering her ankles, yet no matter where she looked, there was no end in sight...

It was too abnormal.

Faya tentatively stepped forward but suddenly stepped into the void, almost plunging into the water.

Fortunately, she supported herself on the ground just in ti to avoid truly falling.

This discovery shocked her into realizing that what she saw was not a shallow puddle but an unfathomable ocean!

And where she stood was rely the top of a column within the vast sea.

"Where exactly is this? How can I leave?" Realizing she was in dire straits, Faya began to panic.

Since earlier, she had been constantly exerting her spiritual power, trying to break through this spiritual space, but all efforts were like stones sinking into the sea, failing to stir even a ripple.

As her prized abilities completely failed, Faya felt genuine fear.

"Who are you? Who could you be? Please, let out!" She cried out aloud, voice tinged with pleading.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze brushed against her cheek.

Filled with hope, she looked toward the direction of the breeze but found a scene that left her utterly hopeless.

Gigantic waves towering dozens of ters, like divine wrath, surged toward her.

Faced with such terrifying sights, Faya couldn’t muster even a shred of courage to resist.

"Ha... hahaha..." Tears of fear uncontrollably dripped from her eyes, "What is this place? What ghostly place is this?! Why am I..."

The massive waves crashed down, and the sea quickly resud tranquility, leaving nothing behind.

...

Lin Jun, who was preparing various life-saving asures for Pink Puki, suddenly paused, puzzled, inspecting his spiritual state but found nothing unusual.

In that fleeting mont just now, Lin Jun seed to have felt "soone lightly brushing a feather across the back of his foot through his sock," but the feeling was so faint and transient, vanishing when he focused to look.

Could soone be using so unfamiliar thod to plot against him?

Thinking of this, Lin Jun couldn’t help but shiver.

Too terrifying!

Lin Jun decided, once things settled, he definitely needed to research so spiritual defense thods.

This world, filled with bizarre ans, was truly dangerous, and despite his unique soul, it was too perilous to wander around unarmored; he must carefully protect his fragile self!
