Xia Jing knew how awful it felt to love soone and not be able to be with them, so without a second thought, she agreed to help Li Jiayuan set up a eting with Xiao Wei. Not only could she beco good friends with Li Jiayuan in this way, but she could also help her brother in all but blood, Xiao Wei, find a life partner. Why not, indeed?

After chatting with Li Jiayuan for a while, Xia Jing went back ho. She tried to call Zhang Zhentian, but he still did not pick up, so she put down her phone and started to cook. It was then that Zhang Zhentian finally woke up, groggily, and reached for his phone. All he saw were missed calls from Xia Jing. He had intended to just check the ti, but this sight gave him quite a shock. Fumbling, heopened his contact list and returned a call to Xia Jing, but there was no answer. He called again, but still no answer. He thought to himself, "I’m done for. She must be angry and not taking my calls because I didn’t answer hers. It’s all my fault. Why did I have to oversleep today of all days?"

Zhang Zhentian jumped out of bed and hurried over to Xia Jing’s house. Old Master Zhang in the living room noticed how flustered Zhang Zhentian was and thought sothing serious must have happened to make him so frantic, so he quickly called out to him, "Zhentian, what’s happened? Where are you rushing off to in such a hurry?"

Without turning back, Zhang Zhentian replied to Old Master Zhang, "Dad, I can’t explain right now, I have to find Xia Jing quickly or sothing really will happen!"

After saying this, Zhang Zhentian dashed out without another word. His urgent behavior made Old Master Zhang think that sothing had happened at Xia Jing’s house, so he ordered Aunt Xu to prepare the car for him. He too wanted to check on Xia Jing – after all, she was now the bride of the Zhang Family and deserved his concern.

An hour later, at Xia Jing’s house.

As soon as Zhang Zhentian reached the door of Xia Jing’s house, Old Master Zhang stepped out of the car. Zhang Zhentian looked at Old Master Zhang with a puzzled face, while confusion was also evident on the older man’s face.

"Dad, why have you co?" Zhang Zhentian asked Old Master Zhang.

"Oh, never mind how I got here. Didn’t you say there was no ti to waste? Let’s go in quickly!" Old Master Zhang didn’t bother explaining further and said this bluntly.

Zhang Zhentian snapped back to reality, responding to Old Master Zhang, "Right, right, you’re absolutely right, Dad. No ti to explain, we should go in now!"

Zhang Zhentian took Old Master Zhang into Xia Jing’s house. As Xia Jing opened the door, she asked Old Master Zhang in surprise, "Uncle, why are you here so late at night?"

"Xia Jing, as long as you’re okay, that’s what matters!" Old Master Zhang murmured to himself.

Xia Jing was completely bewildered by Old Master Zhang’s words and asked back, "Uncle, I’ve been fine all along. Who told you sothing happened to ?"

Upon hearing this, Old Master Zhang turned to look at Zhang Zhentian, who was still not understanding why Xia Jing was asking this and what his father’s look ant.

"Dad, why are you looking at like that? I didn’t say anything," Zhang Zhentian asked in confusion.

"You dare to say you didn’t say anything? It was you who ran out of the house in such a hurry. When I asked what happened, what did you say? You said you had no ti to explain and that sothing really did happen!" Old Master Zhang glared at Zhang Zhentian, looking quite fierce.

In that mont, Zhang Zhentian felt so helpless. He hadn’t expected his casual remark to cause such a big misunderstanding, leading his father to follow him all the way to Xia Jing’s house.

"Dad, okay, let’s just say I didn’t make myself clear earlier. I was worried because Xia Jing didn’t answer my calls, and she had called many tis, none of which I answered. So, I thought she was angry and that’s why she didn’t answer my calls. That’s why I said there was no ti to explain – I needed to hurry over to explain things to Xia Jing. Do you understand now?" Zhang Zhentian explained to Elder Zhang with a tone of resignation.

Old Master Zhang was half-confused, but Xia Jing understood everything. She said to Zhang Zhentian, "Zhentian, it’s not that I didn’t want to answer. I just didn’t hear the phone ring because I was cooking..."

Hearing this, Zhang Zhentian did not know how to respond. He had rushed over here without stopping, fearing that Xia Jing was angry, only to be told that she simply hadn’t heard the phone?

"Uncle, I’m really sorry for causing you such trouble!" Xia Jing said apologetically to Old Master Zhang.

What else could Old Master Zhang say? It wasn’t Zhentian who had asked him to co along; he had followed out of his own worry. Whom could he bla but himself for not understanding the situation before rushing over?

Old Master Zhang sighed and said to Xia Jing, "It’s okay, as long as you’re all right. Then, Uncle will leave first. You and Zhentian can have a chat!"

After speaking, Old Master Zhang smiled at Xia Jing and then went back to the Zhang Family.

Xia Jing watched Old Master Zhang leave and felt that Zhentian had gone a bit too far this ti. As she watched his figure disappear into the night, she turned around, went inside, and closed the door, leaving Zhentian standing there stunned.

"Xia Jing, what are you doing? You’re not even letting in?" Zhentian called out to Xia Jing while knocking on the door from the outside.

Xia Jing imdiately replied, "Zhentian, do you think what you’re doing is right? Uncle is already in his fifties, and yet you still play him like this. He is your father, not a toy for your amusent!"

After hearing Xia Jing’s words, Zhentian said from outside the door with a plaintive tone, "Xia Jing, I didn’t do it on purpose, I’m just scared of making you angry! [Wronged/Wronged]"

Xia Jing, hearing Zhentian’s defense, was beside herself with anger.

"Zhentian, I’m telling you to rember this: no matter when or where, regardless of what happens between us, you should never toy with the father who gave birth to you and raised you. He raised you to be the person you are today out of love, and you shouldn’t take it all for granted. He doesn’t owe you anything."

Zhentian knew he had upset Xia Jing this ti, but he was still glad deep down because, in her heart, she regarded his father as even more important than herself.

Knowing that acting wronged was useless, Zhentian started to feign being pitiful outside the door.

"Ouch, this hurts so much, how could I have been so careless as to sprain my ankle? Now it looks like I’ll have to sit out here all night!" After saying this, Zhentian didn’t forget to actually sit down on the ground.

After a long standoff, Xia Jing still opened the door. Although she knew Zhentian was faking his illness, she couldn’t bear to leave him outside.

"Co in, don’t think I don’t know you’re faking it!"

Zhentian followed Xia Jing inside, clinging to her like a shadow.

He hugged her from behind, and Xia Jing said to Zhentian, "Zhentian, I don’t an to criticize you, but no matter what, no matter what happens to , you can’t treat your father this way. He has been with you since you were little; he created Zhang Corporation with his mind, and supported it with his own two hands, ensuring you’ll never have to worry about food and clothes for your entire life. How can you bear to watch him toil between us? He is your father. Don’t feel that you’re not fortunate; compared to , you are very fortunate, to have such a good father. Why not cherish him?"

Zhentian listened quietly as Xia Jing finished speaking. He felt that what she said made a lot of sense, and he also felt that sotis he really went too far.

"Zhentian, just think about it—have you ever treated your father well because of our issues?" Xia Jing continued to speak to Zhentian.

Zhentian paused for a mont before saying to Xia Jing, "Xia Jing, rest assured, I will never treat Dad like this again. You’re right; I should respect and honor him, instead of making him so tired every day, let alone worrying about all the ti."

Hearing Zhentian say this, Xia Jing nodded and said, "I hope you can do it!"

Zhentian didn’t say anything more; he just quietly held Xia Jing, and she let him hold her that way.
