"Yes." Noah Drexler pursed his thin lips and answered calmly.
Sumr Shawcross was silent.
Earlier, when she was coming downstairs, she saw the bloodied bandages he had changed out of in the trash can next to the bedroom sofa.
He had gone to Lyra once, and ca back injured. Who knows what will happen if he goes on a business trip again this ti...
Thinking of this made her heart suddenly tense, her slightly flushed face was now full of worry and reluctance, looking at him expectantly.
Sumr’s expression at this mont caused Noah’s face to change slightly.
Though she hadn’t said anything, the way those clear, innocent eyes stared unblinkingly at him made his heart uncontrollably soften.
The next second, he moved his thin lips again and added another sentence.
"I just need to handle a small matter and will be back in two days."
He never felt the need to explain his actions to others, but right now... he inexplicably wanted to say sothing more.
Two days?
Hearing his words, Sumr still couldn’t shake off her anxiety.
Last ti he returned to The Drexler Family, it was only for two or three days, yet he ended up badly injured. So just the thought of him leaving again for a few days made her feel afraid, afraid that sothing else might happen.
After hesitating for a mont, she suddenly put down the milk she was sipping and quietly spoke to him.
"I want to go too."
She may not know him well enough yet, but there was one thing about him she understood better than anyone.
This man was too proud and arrogant, always dismissing his own physical pain as if injuries didn’t matter to him at all.
This was one of the reasons why Sumr used to regard him as a pervert.
But no matter how abnormal he might be, his body was still that of a human being, with flesh and blood, he can get hurt, and he can feel pain.
"Absolutely not!" Noah’s imdiate refusal rang out without hesitation.
Sumr paused, not expecting such a quick rejection.
"Why?" she asked, looking puzzled.
"No reason!" Noah pursed his lips, his expressionless face giving nothing away.
His dark eyes grew deeper in color.
For her, Lyra was the safest place.
Because over the years, in his quest for power, he had offended many people, and naturally, enemies were everywhere.
Yet he had never cared about that, never regarded those people as a threat, nor had he ever been worried or concerned because of it.
But at this mont, when she said she wanted to leave with him, he unexpectedly felt a hint of concern.
This feeling was very unfamiliar to him.

His stern and unfeeling appearance made Sumr feel a bit distressed.
"I swear, I’ll just follow you, I absolutely won’t cause any trouble for you." She bit her lip, still sowhat unconvinced, promising.
But after she spoke, there still wasn’t any reaction on Noah’s stern, expressionless face.
"I’ve said, no." He stated firmly.
"..." Seeing him completely unmoved, Sumr felt a bit defeated.
"Sigh... don’t waste your ti, when the boss decides on sothing, no one can change it." At this mont, Flynn Hughes couldn’t help but speak up and comfort the naïve woman in front of him who was trying to make Noah change his mind.
