Hearing what Flynn Hughes said, Sumr Shawcross turned her head sowhat speechlessly to look at Noah Drexler, then lowered her head and continued eating breakfast, mumbling indistinctly while eating.
"Hmph, if you don’t want to go, then don’t. Whatever, all n are like this, not one of them is any good!"
Her muttered words reached Noah Drexler’s ears without missing a word, causing him to frown.
Did she an he was no good?
Sumr Shawcross secretly turned her head to glance at Noah Drexler. Seeing that he was indeed frowning and staring at her, she sighed and continued speaking.
"Go ahead, go. Don’t worry about . I’ll live just fine on my own. I won’t starve or freeze, at most just lose sleep for a few days. Not sleeping a few nights won’t kill ."
Her muttering made Noah Drexler’s expression darken.
When did he abandon her?
And... what did she an by losing sleep?
Why was it that, even knowing her sarcastic words were ant for him, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy after hearing them?
After pausing for a few seconds, he pursed his thin lips and looked at her seriously.
"Speak properly!"
Even though she knew what her intent was, his heart still felt compassion.
After Noah Drexler finished speaking, Sumr Shawcross once again lifted her head and looked at him seriously.
"I want to go with you."
"Reason?" Noah Drexler stared at her for two seconds, then asked.
"If I say it’s because I’m worried about you, would you believe ?" Sumr Shawcross widened her eyes and said, looking at him.
Although she knew she might not be much help by his side, she always felt that being near him gave her so peace of mind.
"Worried about ?" A look of surprise flashed across Noah Drexler’s face, but a sudden pain flickered in his heart.
Because he knew all too well that the news she liked to hear most was about him being injured or sick.
A year ago, he experienced so human-caused misfortune abroad, and his car was destroyed. If it weren’t for his tily reaction, sothing could have really happened.
But when he returned safely, he was faced with her extrely disappointed expression.
He knew all too well that she, more than anyone, wished that sothing would happen to him.
But now... she said she was worried about him.
He didn’t speak, just looked at her with lowered eyes, silently watching her.
At this mont, he couldn’t discern any intent from her face...
And when he saw the grievance in her expression, a hint of tenderness flashed across his handso face.
...
Seeing him remain silent, staring at her with that unfathomable gaze, Sumr Shawcross felt a little unnatural.
She didn’t even need to think to know that he most likely didn’t believe her words.
After all... her attitude towards him had been so bad before.
And just recently, he had suspected she might harm him.
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel a little discouraged, letting out a disappointed sigh as her eyes inexplicably reddened.
As expected, she still couldn’t erase the impression she had left in his heart in the past...
"If you don’t believe , so be it. You can leave, don’t worry about . I’ll take care of myse... um..."
She hadn’t finished speaking when the man suddenly stood up from his chair, reaching out abruptly to grip the back of her head, bending down, and his thin lips domineeringly covered hers, swallowing all her remaining words...
