However, just as she was scared out of her wits, her body suddenly fell steadily into a familiar warm embrace, and a pair of large hands wrapped around her waist.
"It’s loud." A man’s voice, laced with so disdain, sounded in her ear.
She froze, Noah Drexler?
She thought he was already asleep, especially since it was so late now, and the room was pitch dark...
Yet unexpectedly, the man was actually sitting on the sofa.
"Were you waiting for ?" She was montarily shocked before she couldn’t help but ask.
Thinking that he had been waiting here for her to co back, her heart ward...
This was the first ti she felt the sense of ho since her father left her...
And it was still in his embrace.
However, before she could be moved, the man’s dismissive voice rang out.
"No." Noah flatly denied, as if he wasn’t the one who had anxiously instructed the guards to go out and look for soone earlier.
"Then what are you doing here?" Sumr Shawcross felt sowhat disappointed but more speechless.
Why would he stay up late not sleeping or waiting for her, sitting here without turning on the lights?
"I’m sightseeing, is that not allowed?" The man’s deep voice carried a hint of displeasure.
Sumr turned to look out the window; the moonlight had faded, and it was not yet ti for sunrise. What scenery was he looking at?
"Fine, fine, do whatever you want!" She pouted speechlessly; would it kill him to show a little care for her?
If he hadn’t been so proud in his past life and let her feel his care and dedication, perhaps she wouldn’t have always disliked him so much.
Just as Sumr Shawcross was upset and struggling to break free from his embrace, the room’s door was suddenly knocked.
"Boss, we haven’t found any sign of Secretary Sumr, should we search every room?" Sean Morgan’s voice ca from outside the door.
As soon as Sean’s words were spoken, the atmosphere in the room beca sowhat... awkward.
Sumr Shawcross’s struggling movents stopped, and she couldn’t help but grin.
The slap in the face ca so fast it almost caught her off guard.
Although the room was dark, she could almost feel soone’s displeasure.
"No need." A few seconds later, Noah Drexler’s voice full of exasperation sounded.
"But... weren’t you worried..." Sean’s concerned voice was cut off by Noah.
"You can go down now."
"Yes." After hesitating for a mont, Sean responded, turned around, and left.
The room beca quiet again.
"Didn’t you say you weren’t waiting for ? Why did you send soone to look for ?" Sumr Shawcross raised her head, and asked with a smug pout.
In the darkness, the man’s face showed a hint of unnaturalness, and after a mont, he lowered his gaze to warn her with so anger.
"Sumr Shawcross, do you know the responsibilities of a secretary? You abandon your duties, and I can dismiss you at any ti!"
The cruise ship tonight was crowded with various people; he originally didn’t want her identity exposed or targeted by those with ulterior motives, so he let her stay by his side as his secretary.
Yet she disappeared midway and ran around, not to ntion she started auctioning herself?
Thinking of this, there was more anger in Noah Drexler’s eyes.
"I... I originally went to the restroom, but unexpectedly ran into a familiar person who insisted on dragging into a bet, so I had to play a round with her." Sumr Shawcross coughed awkwardly, then hurriedly explained.
