This dream was too real, so real that it almost took her breath away.
Just as Sumr Shawcross closed her eyes tight, tornted by the images in her mind, a large hand suddenly gripped her chin forcefully.
"Sumr Shawcross, open your mouth and breathe!" Noah Drexler’s tense command suddenly rang out.
Those sharp eyes were fixed on her now flushed face from holding her breath, his handso face turning ashen!
Did she want to suffocate herself to death?
Just because he told her Sean Shawcross was dead?!
The man’s voice finally pulled Sumr’s thoughts back, and when she opened her eyes, she was t with Noah Drexler’s angry gaze.
She hesitated for a mont, the pressure of his fingers forced her lips apart.
Only then did Sumr’s mind finally clear sowhat, just as she was about to inhale, the man suddenly lowered his head.
His thin lips descended upon hers, a warm breath transferring from his lips into her mouth.
Sumr’s throat twitched, and she finally took a deep breath.
Inhaled with it was his masculine scent... In that instant, her head seed slightly less burdened.
Her eyes widened, even she didn’t know why she had suddenly started to struggle for air.
Everything happening now felt like a dream to her...
It wasn’t until her breathing gradually stabilized that the man released her lips.
His arms were propped on either side of her, his gaze lowered to her flushed face.
"I..." Sumr opened her lips but didn’t know what to say for a mont.
Her mind... a blank, suddenly finding it extrely difficult to think.
"You’re not dreaming!" The man’s deep, commanding voice suddenly rang out.
As his words fell, Sumr’s body tensed, and she raised her eyes to et his sharp, penetrating gaze.
She paused for a second, then averted her gaze, no longer looking at him.
Her avoidance made Noah Drexler frown tightly.
"Sumr Shawcross, look at !" He said to her in a low, serious tone.
She needed to face reality!
But Sumr didn’t look at him, her eyes blankly fixed on the ceiling above, her expression gradually smoothing out, no longer as pained as when her eyes were closed.
Seeing her in this state, Noah Drexler pressed his lips together silently.
He originally thought that protecting her safety was the most important thing in the world.
But... seeing her in this confused state, his heart ached no less than when he saw her about to jump after Sean Shawcross.
Sean’s accident was beyond his control, and her reaction was even more unexpected.
He never imagined that Sean’s accident would cause her so much pain.
He furrowed his brows tightly, his expression incredibly complex. Her pain, he couldn’t empathize with.
Because he didn’t understand the kind of pain she was feeling right now.
The only relative he had was his mother, but his mother was in poor health, bedridden for years, though gentle, she rarely spent ti with him.
Since he was a child, there had been no close people around him, whether relatives or friends.
When his mother passed away, though he felt sad, he... couldn’t cry his heart out over a relative’s death like normal people could.
