He lowered his eyes to look at her, his dark eyes full of complex emotions.
But Sumr Shawcross had no intention of considering anything else. She just raised her hand, trying to break free from Noah Drexler’s grip.
"Let go, I want to sleep." Seeing that he wouldn’t let go, she finally beca anxious, her eyes reddening.
"You’ve already slept for a day!" Noah Drexler said to her with a serious expression.
She had been asleep for twenty-four hours!
Yet Sumr Shawcross seed not to hear his words at all, still trying to break free and head upstairs.
Seeing this, Noah Drexler’s face grew darker, and suddenly he bent down, gathered her up in his arms, and strode towards the stairs.
Noah Drexler carried Sumr Shawcross all the way back to the bedroom on the second floor.
Just as he entered, a servant ca in holding a stack of freshly laundered clothes.
"Sir, these are Ma’am’s clothes."
With that, the servant placed the clothes on the sofa in the bedroom, then turned and left.
Noah Drexler pursed his lips and brought Sumr Shawcross to the sofa before finally setting her down.
However, as soon as she sat down, she restlessly got up again and headed towards the bed.
Watching her slightly frail figure, Noah Drexler frowned, his expression darkening.
Sumr Shawcross reached the bedside, lifted the quilt, and was about to climb into bed to continue sleeping.
Noah Drexler quickly approached her, holding her as she was about to get into bed.
"Your clothes are still wet!" He looked down at her, his handso face showing a hint of displeasure.
Was she planning to sleep just like that?
Hearing Noah Drexler’s words, Sumr Shawcross froze for a mont, then looked down at her sleepwear, realizing it was indeed wet...
She paused, then turned around, walked to the sofa, glanced at the stack of clothes there, and began changing, not minding Noah Drexler behind her at all.
This scene caused Noah Drexler’s eyes to grow darker.
She would never change clothes in front of him, even the day after they had been intimate...
But at this mont, it was as if she didn’t see him at all.
Her unusual behavior, sothing was wrong, made Noah Drexler’s expression beco increasingly heavy.
Before long, Sumr Shawcross put on a clean dress, then turned around and walked back to the bed, lifted the quilt, climbed in quietly, and closed her eyes, ready to sleep.
Watching her obedient figure, Noah Drexler’s expression stiffened.
His gaze fell on the dress she wore; it was on backwards, yet she seed completely unaware.
He stood rigidly by the bed, lips pressed tightly together, staring solemnly at the woman preparing to sleep.
...
Sumr Shawcross’s mind was blank, with only one thought: she must sleep... must sleep...
But why, every ti she closed her eyes, the loud bang under the sunset in her dreams, her brother’s figure falling, always surfaced in her mind.
She kept telling herself, none of this was real.
Sean Shawcross had clearly been rescued by her!
But those scenes in her dreams, those sounds... even the final smile her brother gave her, why did they keep appearing? None of this was real!
